Chapter 6: His story

Jack took his seat at the long table, surrounded by the board of directors. He was the only one without a suit and tie, and he felt a little self-conscious. He cleared his throat and prepared to speak.

"My name is Jackson, and I'd like to share my story with you."

There was a moment of silence, and then a few murmurs of interest. Jack could feel the anxiety rising in his chest, but he knew he had to keep going.

"When I was old enough, after my said accident I applied for a job at a large delivery company. I thought it was my chance to finally make something of myself. But I soon realized that the company was run by a man who was cruel and vindictive. When Mr. Allen found out about the mistake, he was furious. He called me into his office and started yelling at me, calling me all sorts of horrible names. I tried to explain myself, but he wouldn't listen. Then, out of nowhere, he hit me. He punched me in the face, and I fell to the ground. I was stunned and terrified. But I knew I had to get out of there. I ran from the office, and I never looked back."

Jack paused, trying to catch his breath. Slowly, memories of his cheating wife, Jen, flood through his mind, and all he feels in that moment is rage.

"My wife, i found her cheating on me with another man." Across the table, Jack could see the look of pity on the faces of the directors.

"After my wife cheated on me, I felt lost and alone. I had given my all to our marriage, and she had betrayed me in the worst way possible. I felt like I had no one to turn to, and I was so angry and hurt. I couldn't believe that someone who was supposed to love me could do that to me, and then my foster mother who has always loved me... Left me alone in this world. But despite all that, I knew I had to keep going."

Jack took a deep breath and continued, addressing the board. He knew he didn't need to dig further into his story.

"With me as your head and chairman," Jack told the board, "I know we can reach new heights and achieve great things. I'll bring my unique perspective and drive to the table, and I know I can make a real difference. I'm ready to put in the hard work and dedication needed to take this company to the next level." There were several applauses by the end of the speech, and for the next few hours, Jack took in some of the questions and further gave answers to lingering issues revolving around the increase in cooperation structures and monetary values as well.

After the meeting, Jack was led to a conference room, where he was introduced to several other company heads. He couldn't believe that most of the top firms he had seen on their posters were all under him and affiliated with his corporation.

Barely hours later, Jack was hungry, and with Sanchez by his side, they both stepped out to a nearby restaurant to get lunch.

While their orders had been made, Jack was about to say something to Sanchez when he noticed a delivery guy step into the restaurant. The man would remind him of his days in the former corporation, and all he felt at that point was anger.

Jack's thoughts were racing as he tried to eat his lunch. He couldn't help but think about all the ways he could get back at his former boss. He started to imagine all the ways he could ruin the man's life. But then something unexpected happened.

Even though his former boss had treated him so poorly, Jack couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the man. Maybe he had his own struggles and challenges that led him to act the way he did.

Jack was surprised by his own reaction. He'd never thought of his former boss as anything other than a villain. But now he was starting to see the man as a complex and flawed human being. He wasn't just a one-dimensional bad guy. Jack started to wonder if he could find a way to forgive the man for his past actions.

But before Jack could dwell on that thought any further, Sanchez interrupted his train of thought.

"Sir, you look like you're deep in thought. Are you okay?" Sanchez asked with a concerned look on his face.

Jack snapped out of his thoughts and realized Sanchez was looking at him expectantly. He tried to compose himself and put on a smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said, trying to sound convincing. "Just thinking about some things."

Sanchez seemed to accept his answer, and the two continued their lunch in silence. But Jack's thoughts were still churning.

He couldn't get the image of his former boss out of his head. He wondered if there was a way to reach out to the man and try to resolve their differences. But he also knew it would be a long and difficult road.

As Jack sat across from Sanchez, his mind was consumed with thoughts of revenge. He imagined himself confronting his former boss, demanding an explanation for the way he had been treated. He pictured himself getting the last word, finally putting an end to the chapter of his life that had been so difficult.

But even as he thought about all of this, a part of him knew that it wouldn't solve anything. It wouldn't make him feel any better, and it wouldn't change the past. He knew he had to find a way to move on for his own sake.

"Sanchez, I think I might have a great plan to take revenge on my former company." Jack revealed, with a smile plastered on his face. The days where he had to be scared of the top firms were over. His corporation fully ran everything, and that was all that mattered to him.
