'How on earth could uncle Red let go of the company just like that? I don't want to rule nor do I want to be the heiress to the family's fortune. That is way too much responsibility for me. That only means I won't be able to give Pete a chance or get married to someone else because dad won't let me. He would say someone else can't come into the family and inherit everything, should I just run away?' Charlotte thought.

She just kept pacing around relentlessly in her room, a lot was at stake for her should she accept that position. She felt her life would no longer be hers, even now that she wasn't the heiress she has no life of her own, talk more of her being the one to run such a huge Empire. It was too much for her to take in.
