CHAPTER 38
As he arrived at Minister Long's estate, he was greeted by the old man himself. Victor stepped out of his car, bringing along a few presents for the family. He didn't want to visit empty-handed, so he had everything arranged beforehand.

"Madam Long, this is for you," Victor handed her a bouquet of mixed flowers along with a few bags of gifts.

"Oh my, you didn't have to," she replied, pleased with the presents. She briefly glanced inside the bags and realized they were not ordinary gifts. "Why don't you two go in and sit down for a while? I'll go get Carmela for you."

While Victor waited in the seating area with Minister Long, a servant brought refreshments for them. He engaged in a friendly conversation with the man, and despite the fact that the minister wanted Victor to be with his daughter, there was no hostility from him. Minister Long understood that any father would wish for their daughter to be with the right man.

Meanwhile, Madam Long went upstairs to check on her daughter.
