CHAPTER 62
"Mr. Augustine, did I say something wrong earlier?" Antonia chased after Victor as soon as they were done with dinner. She hadn't finished her meal when he abruptly left the room without saying a word, leaving her and Lucas alone.

"Nothing, I just have some business to handle. Please, go back and enjoy your meal," Victor forced a smile, not wanting Antonia to worry about him. He knew that telling her the truth would only burden her further, and revealing his identity could hurt her deeply. He had lied, hurt others, and was prepared to keep his secret until his death.

"Very well," Antonia agreed and returned to the dining area. There she found Lucas, who seemed unfazed by what had happened and continued with his meal. "Lucas, can I ask you something?"

"Me?" Lucas was surprised that Antonia wanted to talk to him. "Sure, ask away."
