Chapter 139

The day began with a knock sounding far away in his head. An uninvited guest showed up at the wrong time, because this was definitely a wrong time. He tossed on his bed, drowning the knock that got louder… and louder with his pillow, a failed attempt at stopping the ache. His face buried into the soft foam that massaged his sleepy eyes and ringing head. He clawed on the bed with his toe nails in frustration.

"Aargh!" He vented his anger to the walls of his room as he was forced out of bed with the persistent headache he felt.

His face contorted into a frown as he tasted his breath, "Oh, no."

He got up from his bed dragging his head along with him. The reflection of drool down the edges of his mouth stared at him. He stared back with confusion written over the lines drawn up on his face.

He scrubbed his mouth again, "Why has it not come off? Oh boy!" He scrunched his face, oxygen forcing his nostrils to stay open despite the foul smell.
