Doctor Hiro felt the nerves buzz through his body like a wave of electric current. He didn’t lie to the Master, but he wasn’t truthful either. Doctor Haishi had undermined the supreme authority of the Master by going out to look for Oz, even if it was for a good cause. That would usually attract a heavy penalty.

“Maybe he will be merciful. After all, he changed his mind later.” Doctor Hiro conversed with himself.

“Sir, sir?” A nurse intensified her calls on Doctor Hiro.

“What is the problem?” Hiro’s tone is unappreciative of the disturbance to his self-consultation.

“I think you need to see this.” The nurse led the way after her last words, urgency in her footsteps. Doctor Hiro got the message as he ate up the distance between them with three giant strides.

They got to the beds and the nurse pointed at something... or was it someone?

“Hello?” The doctor called out from a safe distance. His neck stretched to give his eyes a clearer view of the figure away from him. “Hello?”

“H—ho... how?” Doctor Hiro expressed his shock, the magic he had just witnessed left his eyes doubting the untruth he had just seen. Speechless, he looked on as Kakashi sat up, catching his breath and the reality of his environment. “Oh God, another place. Where am I?” Kakashi groaned as he dropped his head into his palms, trying to rub the banging headache he felt away.“Can you feel your head?” Doctor Hiro peered at Kakashi, walking closer to his bed. He held his forefinger and middle finger up to test his vision as well.“Two. And yes, I’m fine.” Kakashi answered. The doctor stepped back a bit and questioned the stranger with his looks. Kakashi looked around after a quick relief from the head-splitting aching he felt. “You. You. I recognize you. You were there, weren’t you?” Kakashi fixed his gaze on the stranger.“There? Where? You were somewhere? Where? Were you with others? Alone? Did you see Doctor Haishi?” “Argh” Kakashi’s groan signaled the revival of the headache and this

“You don’t know him?” “What did you say?” Doctor Hiro couldn’t hear the below whisper tone Kakashi mimed at him.“You... really... do... not... know... him?” Kakashi said each word like a sentence with the same tone as his face moved closer to Doctor Hiro’s, and his finger pointed at the floating object for more clarity.“No, I don’t. You think I said I didn’t know him just for what? Because I’ve always wanted to meet a frightening stranger who happens to be a healer and also an incredible fighter with no blood in his veins?” Doctor Hiro swore under his breath as the last part slipped out. “He has no blood in his veins? You two fought?” Kakashi queried further.“We didn’t fight. Well, not really.” Doctor Hiro responded, his eyes searching his head for answers. “Not really? He has no blood too? Did you cut him to realize that while you tried to fight him he still overcame you with no effort?” Kakashi wasn’t letting this conversation slip away. He moved closer to the doctor. “You s

“I am so so sorry,” Kakashi spoke through Jay’s shoulders. “It’s fine. I’ve forgiven you.” Jay replied.“Thank you, Jay, thank you.” Kakashi let Jay go as they broke off the hug, smiles creeping up their faces. “Kakashi! You might want to see this.” Doctor Hiro’s voice alerted Kakashi. Kakashi rued the interruption. He was having a moment with Jay, and the last thing he wanted was for this – an interruption, but the urgency in the voice of Doctor Hiro was too much to ignore. He walked quickly with Jay behind as they got to where the doctor was. Doctor Hiro was fighting his hands into the fitting of the gloves, his nose mask already in place. “Shouldn’t we not disturb them?” Kakashi halted the hands of Doctor Hiro.“He said we shouldn’t disturb him, not them.” Doctor Hiro said, still hesitant about whether or not to continue what he wanted to. “Ah aah!” Jay let out a scream as he saw the man floating above them, across the beds. “Shh” Kakashi and Doctor Hiro uniformly hissed

The crashing of some things on the floor shifted focus to Zoa. Her vomit covered the floor as her still-bent posture meant one thing; there was more to come. Jay and Kakashi helped the doctor get supplies to clean the vomit. The doctor wanted no nurse to be part of what was happening. He couldn’t do it alone but he didn’t need more people overwhelming him. “You guys, look,” Jay called the attention of Kakashi and Doctor Hiro. Jay walked up to him and held him tightly in a warm embrace. He didn’t say anything, he didn’t know what to say. He didn’t need to say anything as his embrace communicated all he would have wanted to. After a while, Kakashi finished sobbing and let himself out of the hug. He wiped his eyes with the back of his arms. He aimed to continue the story. “You know you don’t have to do this, right?” Jay didn’t think it was necessary to continue what he had been through. Having to relive a day, such day, again. Phew... he couldn’t imagine the mental fortitude Kakashi possessed to even agree to narrate the ordeal so early.Kakashi wiped his face with his palms. He called back the slimy liquid trying to exit his nostrils. He cleared his throat, then continued. “The whole environment suddenly changed to a pitch-black, windy one. Thunderstorms rained amid the tornadoes and hurricanes. I watched them grow up, literally, from the ground up. They were just winds, then they became whirlwinds...” Ka

“Chaos energy doesn’t work here.” Jun watched as Jiro lost hope in his eyes for a minute.“I was able to do that because I don’t use chaos energy.” Jun smiled at the expression Jiro had on his face.“Leave now!” Jun pushed him out of the reach of the creature that dived toward him. He wasn’t with his sword but he could take a few on. It would be suicide but he couldn’t run away, again. He ran through the many that congregated on Jun only for them to turn into dust. Dust got into his nostrils; his loud cough was like a deep cleanser of his system.***“Where am I?”The loud cough and question got everyone back to where the beds were erected. “Wow,” Jay marveled.“Who is that?” Jiro pointed at the stranger floating in the air.“Welcome back.” Kakashi ran to hug him. “Hey Zoa,” Tanya rushed to catch up with Zoa’s fleeting feet. “Zoa!” Zoa spun around. “What is it, Tanya?” She shot Tanya a glare. “I don’t like what is happening between us. I am sorry for anything I have done. Please, do not go on like this. Let us come back to what we used to be. I miss you. I miss my sister,” Tanya’s voice cracked, her face dropped into a plea hard to say no to. Zoa stood, rooted to the spot. Her eyes lingered on her, tears forming around her eyes. She opened her arms, pulling Tanya into a warm embrace. Her shoulders warmed with Tanya’s tears as they held each other in that position for what seemed like forever. They basked in their embrace, unconcerned about the passing gazes that fixed on them, the urgent feet that marched or even the touch of the commander. “Zoa!” She snapped out of her stare at Tanya. Tanya stood, her eyes still droopy. She rotated to a halt as she came face to face with Kokohashi. “Did you hear what I said?” Her head tilted. Her face cont

The gates opened and the people left their mouths ajar.“How is he alive?” “What is he doing here?” “What are those with him?” Yonda rode into the place he once called home. It looked bigger and better. There were new structures scattered on widened grounds. He looked at the place he once lived; embers of fire heat underneath the huge smoke that went up to the sky from there. Huge men vacated there with black dust covering their bodies. Yonda continued deep into where their leader stayed. “Hi. Where is Master Ji?” Yonda asked the boy from the top of his vehicle. “I don’t know who that is.” The boy said and then ran away. Oh, okay. “Yonda?” The musical voice that called behind him sounded familiar. He turned around to see Maika beneath a hoodie. His eyes sparked, the memory of their last time time together filling him up with joy. “Maika.”“I thought you died.” Maika whispered. “Why would you think that?” Yonda asked. “Um, my brother said you were taken by raiders and there was no

The annoying laughter from below him echoed in the back of his ears. He groaned awake, rolling on the bed. His eyes were wary of their new surroundings, parting slowly. He helped himself to sit back, leaning on the bed frame. His eyes widened as she walked in from the other room, her body drenched in water. Her eyes were suppressed under the heavy weight of beauty that crowned them. She wasn’t naked but there wasn’t much left to be imagined. She caught his stare from the mirror. Damn. What is that smile? That is beautiful. His eyes darted to the door flung open. “Oh, I see you’ve met her,” John said to Yonda, passing his glance from him to her. “She is quite incredible, is she not?” He strolled in without a care in the world. Yonda took his eyes off his brother, and back to the girl in front of the mirror. Her fingers clutched her shoulder, backing the mirror with her head dropped. She scampered off, back into where she appeared like an afterthought. “Why did you just walk in? You

“There is nothing more I can say, John. You two are going to be great men.” Master Ji drew them into himself in an embrace. “Great men that will be part of the stories of the new world. You do not have to worry about the unseen. You have each other. You have a week, prepare your minds.” Master Ji dropped his hands, taking his time to climb the stairs back up. “What do you think this is?” John marched towards Yonda. “Is he trying to send us away?” “This is not something any of us possess an understanding of. It is certainly a mystery. But he has been training us for a long time—” Yonda’s words were interrupted. “Never have been trained to go on a mission. Never.” John jumped in. “Never, I agree with you. That makes this mission even more important now. There is something hidden within that we might not understand now. But I do disagree with you. The master loves us too much to ever want us out of his sight. He came for you without blinking. Alone. The master wants to see something i

"Before you do that, I have something to tell you too.""What is it, Master?" John asked. Master Ji reached out to them to be guided up. John and Yonda hurried to his rescue as they took his hands, helping him up with ease."I can tell you, but I will rather show you boys what it is. Come with me." Master Ji walked ahead of them. Quizzical looks covered both of their faces as they marched behind their master."Where is this place, Master?" John called from behind."Be patient, my son.""Are you sure this is the way, Master?""Continue to follow me Yonda. Believe." Master Ji faced the wall, charging towards it."No!" Yonda and John rushed to pull Master Ji back. “What are you boys doing?” Master Ji dodged them, they dropped face-first into the ground. “Ow!” John winced. “What do you think you are doing?” “We wanted to save you,” John got up first, scrunching up his face as he held his waist. Yonda’s face peered from behind John. “You were going to hurt yourself. We had to save you.”

The gates banged. No sound forthcoming sent him into a fit. Sweat covered his face. He glanced over his shoulders, scanning behind him to be sure he was alone. His breath quickened. The gate crashed with his fist banging again and again. It gave way, and Master Ji's face peered through the opening."Where have you been? Everyone is worried about you and… where is John?" Master Ji stretched over Yonda to check behind him. "Where is John?" Yonda whimpered. "I said where is John?!""He is—he is," Yonda stuttered, pointing in the direction of the woods."He is where? In the woods?" Yonda nodded in affirmation. "I've told you many times never to go there alone!" Master Ji's voice trailed. Restless, he goes back and forth. "What happened to him?" The sunlight shone brighter, the spotlight illuminating her brightness more. She swayed her hips like she floated, without a burden. She turned, her hair spreading ecstasy. She smiled, and like a child in a strange place, he followed with a wide smile. His lips curved from one end of his jaw to the other.
