First Task

"A player has transcended so soon?"

"Did he hack through Primal's technology?"

"Must be a glitch in the system!" Were the most notable comments that could be heard from the crowd.

The selection had ended barely twelve minutes ago, and now a player has transcended? Primal games were supposed to be tough, almost impossible to complete. So who was this player who was making Primal look like a joke.

"A transcended player huh?" Liam Hardwood, the silver haired boy thought to himself. As a talented and pro gamer it seemed odd for someone to make such a progress this early, but Liam knew better. He wasn't new to these kinds of things, his guess was that the system had already detected the player's potential from the onset of events, and had simply decided to give the player a buff right away.

He couldn't deny that this player had him intrigued. He wasn't a bad player, he was far from being bad. After taking quick assessments of all potential candidates gathered for the screeching process, Liam was almost confident he was the best out there. So how could he have missed this Mastermind? Or did his Scarlet eyes fail him? It didn't matter anyways, somebody in this game was clearly better than he was, and Liam's sole aim now was to meet up with this player, Mastermind.

"Somebody's transcended already?!" Lucy questioned abstractly, her high pitched shrill gaining her a bit of questionable glances from the passerby. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" she apologized sharply before bolting away from the eyes of the public. She was aware that nothing was real here, the people, houses and everything were all simulation, but that didn't stop her inferiority complex from getting the better of her.

Scurrying into a hidden corner, Lucy opened up her profile to get a better look at the general information. 'Mastermind..' she drawled out mentally. "Could it be?!" Maybe she was overthinking it. He did seem overly confident, and Lucy was almost sure he had made it into the game. But she doubted he was that good to become this strong in such a short time.

Now convinced that somebody has really beaten Primal, Lucy exited her hiding spot and began her march towards the palace of Diontra in order to carry out her first task. Once she was done with it, she would seek out this transcended player. Teaming up with a powerful player was definitely the right move in situations like this.

Still stunned by the notification he'd just gotten, Cyrus proceeded to open up his player status panel.

"That's odd.." His brow arched up in confusion, and soon he was doing too much mental work than he had anticipated. 'Was the sage system not part of the game?' He questioned himself. His chi levels and ability levels were still the same as the average population, yet he could feel this surge of energy within him.

The Green chi was the most common and lowest level of cultivation in the game, he had already gone through the rules and was well acquainted with its power system and cultivation. Low level players and the common masses possessed this level of chi.

The Yellow chi was only a step above the green one. It was also considered to be a low chi level, but those who possessed this chi color possessed more strength, wealth, and basically everything than the average population. Though the yellow chi didn't earn much respect in the society, those who possessed it had more rights than those with the green chi.

The red chi was a different story from the green and yellow chi. Those who possessed this level of chi were mostly the wealthy masses of the society, who have the resources to cultivate their Chi's to this point. They were the ones who occupied most of the political statuses in the society, and had right and authority over the lower masses. They served directly under the kingdom's military who were only second in command to the royal family.

High ranking officers in the military and the entirety of the royal family possessed the purple Chi. These were the people on top of the food chain. Their words and decisions were final, and couldn't be rivaled. They were the most powerful people in the kingdom and their influence on everything was gravely noticed. Nobody rivaled them in strength, and their affinity for their elements were at its peak. Their skills were unmatched, trying to put up a fight against people who possessed this color of Chi was nothing more than a suicidal attempt.

The Golden Chi was the highest one could cultivate. No human has ever possessed such a level of Chi before, the human body wasn't built to handle such a level of power. Only powerful supernaturals have been recorded to possess such overwhelming Chi, and only a few of them have been spotted since the beginning of Diontra.

The type of supernatural that possessed this tremendous amount of strength wasn't recorded in the village's history and making, but Cyrus could guess it wasn't an ordinary being.

Aside from one's Chi, ability levels were another important power system that could influence one's status in the society. A player with an ability level of 1 and a yellow or Red Chi color was as good as a player with a green Chi color. Ability levels showed just how well a player or individual has mastered their power if they possessed any. A higher chi level would only grant a player a greater pool of stamina, strength, and speed. But ability level will influence his attack potency and defensive capabilities greatly. A weak attack wouldn't do much against an enemy. It didn't matter if you had more stamina or speed, if you can't finish your opponent you're as good as dead.

Although his player ranking did show he had transcended, his stats were still the same as a new player. Perhaps a glitch had occurred in his system when he entered the game. But this was Primal, there was no way they could let such a mistake occur in their billion dollar project. They had the best technology known to mankind, glitches shouldn't be something cognisant with Primal.

Cyrus was still confused, the system and the game didn't seem to be linked, but at the same time had some connections between them, else the game wouldn't be able to detect that he had become a sage.

To clear away his confusion, Cyrus decided to check out the system once again.

[HP: 20/20]

[Exp: 0/10]

[Strength: 10/10]

[IQ: 100/???]

[Level: Amateur]

[Abilities: ???]

[Host has a stat point available. Use a stat point to unlock an ability]

Everything was just as it was before, he really did have a system.

[New Quest Available!] A new notification popped up on the screen. Unlike the previous quest, it didn't reflect on his player's watch. Which meant that this quest was specially meant for the system only.

This was a great opportunity to test out what the system really did. He was likely to use an ability in order to complete this task, if not there wouldn't be any reason why the system would award him a free stat point which he could use to unlock an ability.

Mentally, Cyrus chose to use his free stat point to unlock an ability. Hopefully the options for his abilities wouldn't be too bad.

[Ability Unlocked! You've unlocked Anti-camouflage!]

[Ability Level: 1/???]

[Learn more about Ability?]

Though he was a bit disappointed that the system hadn't allowed him to choose his own ability, Cyrus was eager to know what Anti-camouflage could really do.

Eagerly, he requested to learn more about this new ability.

[Anti-camouflage allows the user to see through disguises. Very efficient against Shapeshifters and skinwalkers]

Now that he was cognizant with what his newly attained power could do, it was time to check out his first quest. Eagerly, not without trepidations Cyrus proceeded to check out what the quest was.

[A Skinwalker Blends amongst the crowd! Find and Defeat the enemy before an hour!]

[Task Initiated! Time left: 0:59:59]

This was it, his very first task.
