Val stepped into a new world when she entered the hotel lobby. The fortress at Lorilis had wonders she had never seen, like the blue lights that illuminated the halls. However, the fortress had a utilitarian look to it.

Soldiers by their nature were not accustomed to much in the way of adornment for their sleeping and work spaces. Outside a few banners for various Surian houses and the forts own banner, there had been few other features of beauty outside the impressive architecture of the fort itself.

This hotel was the opposite. Everything screamed opulence. The floor was marbled granite. The walls were richly decorated with amazing paintings of nature and cityscapes that seems to have sparkles of light that tracked the viewer.
