Chapter 8, Son of Angel.

My name is Elias Angel, I am the only son of the military’s lightning mage Angel, I hold no noble titles nor are my a gifted individual. meaning, I’m not a mage like my mom, I lost everything to the wars the empire fought but I do not resent my country, for I shall Inherit my mother’s legacy”.

Angel that was in the kitchen almost dropped the knife in her hand, tears welled up in her eyes as she felt an inexplicable sense of fulfillment, she clasped her hand on her mouth so as not to make a sound, her breath was slightly rough, but at the end of it all a bright smile was revealed after she moved her hands to her chest. “Thank you”. She quietly whispered to herself.

Even shadow was slightly stunned, it was like the arrogant brat suddenly had some kind enlightenment phase, but wait a minute. He’s not a mage?, I guess it doesn’t flow in the family. Shadow harrumphed.

Elias felt at peace, it was like a weight on his shoulders had suddenly been lifted and replaced with something just as heavy, but this time he wanted it there.

“Let’s play hide and seek before dinner is ready”. Elias said to Zelda with a smile.

Zeldas eyes widened. “Hide and seek, what’s that”.

“You don’t know what hide and seek is, no wonder you left home. come on, You’ll learn as we go”.

Shadow glared at Elias but he didn’t dare to actually do it in the open, but he still had he’s mind. “Curse you, you little commoner filth, how dare you teach the young lady such oafish behavior.

But he suddenly stiffened as he felt a deadly gaze land on him, Angle’s eyes sent shivers down he’s spine. “Did you just insult my son?.

“Wha-what, of course not, I didn’t say anything your magnificence”.

Angel’s eyes were still cold. “But you still thought about it right, DIE”. A lightning strike broke through the space in between the kitchen and the living room and struck shadow with a deadly strike, witch immediately followed was a hair raising scream and shadows cursing.

“Are you f@$&@ kidding me”.

...

“Eh, what’s going on downstairs”. Zelda said.

“Mom is probably In the mood to play chase the scoundrel, don’t worry, it looks all flashy but nobody ever really gets hurt”.

“Oh, ok then”.

Of course unlike others shadow wasn’t really given the option to run, in-fact he was tied to a single spot so as not to damage the living room.

...

Several hours later Angel called out to the duo, clearly dinner was ready, the dining table was built for four to begin with but only three occupied it, shadow was standing guard outside with his plate.

Zelda and Elias chattered away all throughout, they’ve unknowingly become incredibly close after hiding and seeking one another for hours.

...

Later that evening Elias and Zelda were sent to their rooms, While Angel simply sat quietly in the living room, at this point she actually felt bad for shadow cause it was pouring outside, but she couldn’t afford to let a powerful mage like him into the house, you could never know his true intentions especially towards Elias.

At this moment Elias walked down the stairs and into the living room.

“Go get some rest kid, you had a busy day”. Angel said while flipping through a book she picked up to pass the time.

“What about you, you were chasing me all day and even had to subdue shadow to save me”.

“Someone needs to watch our guest that’s outside”. Angel replied once more without lifting her head.

“Mom, about the military academy of magic”.

Angel finally felt the need to look straight at him.”Elias, if you don’t want to I won’t force you anymore, personal I feel a lot more comfortable with you next to me, but I won’t always be here, am strong... but I still am human, I have my limits you know”.

Elias slowly shook his head, “No, you’re right, if I wish to leave up to your legacy then I must start by conquering the academy, Magic or not I’ll make everyone look up to the son of Angel”.

At this point Angel didn’t know what to say, it seemed like he was serious about inheriting her legacy, but without magic, that would be extremely difficult, but she still didn’t discourage him, she felt that if anybody couldn’t do it then Elias could, he was the only survivor from he’s village, there’s noway he’s not especial in anyway.

Angel stood up and retrieved a military academy application form, “Fill this up”.

She didn’t waste her time giving him a motivational speech, he didn’t need any.

Elias looked at the paper and realized that it has more or Less been filled up, in-fact the only blank space was the one for name, and Elias didn’t hesitate to fill in his full name, Elias Angel.

...

Elias later returned to his room, he walked in silently so as not to disturb the person next door, But as he tried to lay on he’s bed he noticed a slight bulge on the side. He’s expression was perplexed, “Zelda, why are you in my bed”.

The covers moved and a silver haired Zelda was revealed. “I-I get scared of the loud booming sounds and since you were next door I thought we could sleep together”.

She was blushing and nervous but the thunder was just too frightening.

Elias had a helpless look on his face, Alright then, it’s only a single night anyway.

Just as Elias was about to join her on the bed Zelda said to him in a low tone of voice, “Ain’t you going to take your clothes off”.

“What?”.

“You know, your pajamas”.

“Oh, I don’t use one of those, but don’t worry I don’t sleep naked either”.

“Oh, ok”.

While the never ending rain in city rose kept on its usual routine, Elias and Zelda didn’t cuddle but simply slept peacefully within the comfort of one another.
