Devon POV: "Are you alright?" Jason asked Alex. "Yes. Thank you." Alex answered. "We have to leave immediately," I said to them. "Huh? But what about Mrs Wilson?" Jason questioned. "We have got to take her," Jason added. "No. It will be too risky. Not just that but we might never find Grenade." Alex said to Jason. "How do you mean?" I asked Alex. "I already went in there. Grenade is not being kept in the secret room. That was the only place within the mansion that my mother could have hidden Grenade." Alex explained. "And I know that if we take her hostage, she will never speak of his location," Alex said. I looked over at Jason and nodded, "let's leave then." I said and I helped Alex to the car while Jason opened the back door. I put Alex in and went to sit behind the steering wheel while Jason sat at the back with Alex, giving him first aid treatment. I never thought that things could turn this way but at least the doubt about Alex's loyalty was now cleared. That is if the
Devon POV: "We went there last night and Grenade wasn't there and I can tell, neither was Tamira," I said. "Tamira? Do you mean Tamira Wilson? Mrs Wilson's daughter? Why the heck would we want her sir?" one of my men asked me. We were all gathered early this morning, discussing what had happened, "Tamira is a friend and not a foe. She hates her mother just as much." I replied. "That doesn't mean she automatically becomes one of us or that we should help her," he said to me. "She is your boss's wife remember?" Jason said. "Yeah but all that was fake. Nothing real. All was for the mission." another one of my men replied to Jason and then turned to me. There was a somehow awkward silence between us. "Boss. Don't tell me you fell for..." he said, watching my face for my reaction. "What we had was and still is real," I stated. They were all surprised but did not complain, "Then we will help you get her back as well." someone else said and the rest agreed. "Thanks." I found myself
I got out of the room and thankfully, the person I knocked out had a cap on which I could use to hide my face. I made it passed some of Mrs Wilson's men and just as I was approaching the exit, Mrs Wilson walked right in and we almost bumped into each other if not that I dodged on time. "What the hell?! Just who is this dimwit that almost knocked me over?! " Mrs Wilson shouted, two bodyguards, one on either side of her, stood mightily over me and grabbed both of my hands as they lifted me to my feet. Shoot! What a dangerous mistake I just made! I maintained my bowed head, trying for them not to see my face. Mrs Wilson reached out to remove the cap but just as she was doing that and I thought all hope was lost, someone came running and shouting. "Boss! Boss!" I heard a man's voice shouting and panting. "What is it?!" Mrs Wilson questioned, already annoyed as she held back her hand. "It's Grenade!" the man shouted and my heart skipped a beat. Had I just been caught so easily?"Wha
We arrived at the hideout and watched the building from a distance that we hid. There was a lot of security and no way to get in. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see that it was one of my men. "Boss. Over there," he whispered as he pointed to an opening. "Nice job," I said. "What's the time?" I asked. "Five minutes before its twelve sirs." someone replied to me. "Alright. You all know the plan okay? Now it's my turn." I said to them and they all nodded. I made to get up but Alex held me down by the shoulder, "are you sure about this?" Alex asked me. "I am very sure," I replied and removed his hand. I stood up and walked towards the uncompleted building. No one saw me until I was right in front of the building. All of Mrs Wilson's men held their guns up, pointing their guns at me. "I'm here to see Mrs Wilson," I told them. One of them ran into the building and after he came out, out came Mrs Wilson, grinning from ear to ear. "Well-well-well. The rat has finally come
We arrived back at the mansion. Jason stayed quiet throughout and still did not speak a word after we reached. I, on the other hand, was too pissed off to approach him either. We all went to our rooms in bad moods and it was almost morning, no sleep. I lay in bed and stared at the ceiling. No sleep and it was all because... I don't even want to think about it. Mrs Wilson POV: I watched in rage as Devon escaped in the van with his men. I felt the hotness rising in my chest and I knew I couldn't hold it back anymore. I had to kill Devon, by hook or by crook. I called for another car and in about five minutes it was brought to me. I pushed out the driver and sat in his place. "Madam!" the driver exclaimed in surprise and with pleading eyes. "I can drive myself," I said to the driver. "But madam how will I get back home? This place... I've never been here before and I don't know if it's safe. Please can I at least sit at the back?" the driver asked me politely. I looked at him w
Devon POV: "You are now nothing but a mad woman with no one to call her own," I said to Mrs Wilson as I turned away from her angrily. "Oh!" I exclaimed, just remembering something. "Speaking of nothing to call your own," I said and turned back to Mrs Wilson. "I hinted something to you that time didn't I?" I questioned Mrs Wilson. She glared at me with clear hatred in her eyes. Mrs Wilson did not say a word in response. "Your son Alex is against you today and as for your other son, well," I paused and looked over at Alex. "Your other son, Alex's elder brother and my younger brother, he is dead," I added. Alex looked shocked but untouched. Mrs Wilson on the other hand looked even angrier but somehow the anger changed to a sneer and her eyes looked away."What you don't know, Devon is how to issue threats that will reach the victim's heart." Mrs Wilson said and then looked directly into my eyes. I didn't break the eye contact either. "I do not have a heart, Devon. If I could send
Mrs Wilson POV: I felt something coming in contact with my body and then rubbing against me. I opened my eyes just to realize that there was suddenly someone in the basement with me. That same person was losing the ropes I was tied with. "What the hell? Who are you?" I asked in surprise. "I cannot allow Devon to kill you. I can't let him make such a mistake of becoming someone like you." the person said as he continued to only me.I knew that voice. The person finished and I got up, rubbing my right hand on my left wrist and then vice versa. I looked up to see that it was my son Alex standing in front of me. "You have to leave this place," Alex said to me. I was surprised that Alex of all people was helping me to escape. I knew this was too good to be true and so as he led the way to the door of the basement, I quickly grabbed something heavy and hit him on the head with it. "What are you doing?" Alex asked me, barely getting the words out of his mouth. "I cannot take any cha
I watched in horror as the chair I had gotten Mrs Wilson ties up to, stayed vacant in front of my eyes. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Jason standing behind me and staring in shock at something. I turned in the same direction he was staring and my heart skipped a beat at the sight of it. Alex was lying in blood with his skull smashed at one side. I felt my legs weaken but I remained standing. "Wh... What happened here?" Jason asked in a whisper. I didn't understand it. How was all this possible? How did this happen right under our noses? I clenched my fists. The hatred I had towards Mrs Wilson mounted inside of me. "Tell my driver to get my car ready. He's outside and always stays close by so he shouldn't be difficult to locate." I said to Jason. "What are you going to do?" Jason asked me. "Something I should have done a long time ago," I answered and walked off before Jason could say a word more. I entered my room and found a gun I hate and kept away for a whil
