Chapter twelve

I raised my right hand and there was silence. That was how much people respected and feared me.

"I will answer your questions but only one at a time," I told the journalists.

"Let that one in," I said, pointing at one of the journalists, one that I knew very well. I knew that she would surely help me get out of this scandal one way or the other.

My security guards let her pass along with her cameraman as well. "Thank you for this opportunity, Mrs. Wilson," she said.

"You are welcome," I replied.

"Okay Mrs. Wilson, my first question goes like this. Do you have anything to do with that poor man? I mean, the one who was accused of murder. Do you know him at all?" she asked.

"No. I have no idea who he is." I answered.

"Thank you, madam. Now I need to know this, if you didn't know that man then how come your driver and your daughter knew him?" she asked me and I burst into tears.

"It's a long story," I said as I took out a hankie and wiped my crocodile tears.
