After Felix was led away to be shown his room by the maid, Mary got up to leave for her's.

"Hold on Mary," Gordon said.

Mary stopped in her tracks and turned to face her father, "yes Father?"

"I want you to answer me with the absolute truth Mary. It's about that boy." Gordon said.

"He's a man, not a boy, Dad." Mary rolled her eyes.

Ignoring his daughter's reply, Gordon went ahead to ask, "Why did you propose to marry him?"

Mary stayed quiet for a while as her father awaited her answer to his question.

Gordon scoffed and shook his head, "Chasing after your best friend's boyfriend isn't a good colour on you my dear." he said to Mary.

Mary refuses to speak a word to her father on the topic and just walked off while Gordon watched until she was out of his sight.

With a serious look on his face, Gordon called on a maid.

"Sir?" the maid said, her head bowed while she stood before him.

"Get me, Patrick," Gordon instructed.

The maid left and then returned with a man following her. "Here he is
