Declan watched Abigail kiss Frank so passionately right there before her front door and something tugged in his heart. It became so strong like a knot that tightened with each passing second. He was becoming enraged. She had not noticed him step out of his car and walk towards them. She was still caught up in Frank's arms that she had no idea what was going on around him. It was when he cleared his throat that she disentangled herself from him and looked over to who was there. She looked at him in amazement as she tried to put herself together. "You did not tell me that you were coming," she said to him. Frank too felt embarrassed as though they were little kids caught in the act.
As Samantha sat in the first class section of the plane, she could not help but think herself very stupid. She could not imagine that Declan still had so much control over her life even after she was separated from him. She was usually very intricate with her work and usually did a lot of research on whatever firm she worked in to improve her work ethic in the future. She realized that she had been too much in a hurry to kick off a new start and that she had barely done a background check as she would usually do. She was too caught up in making out a life for herself that she had not bothered to be intentional. Getting away from Declan and his company seemed like the prize.
Declan woke up the next morning by a call from Micheal who had been working tirelessly as a result of the new clients they had received. He took out his laptop from his bag and got to work immediately as Micheal updated him. They soon switched to a virtual meeting and Micheal was at home in a shirt and tie. It amused Declan because he was also dressed the same way for virtual meetings with a short or sweatpants underneath. Halfway into the meeting, Micheal's hot girlfriend passed behind him, dressed in just a two-piece. Micheal closed his eyes in embarrassment and Declan burst out laughing. "I'm so sorry about that sir," Micheal
Hannah lazily got up from her bed when her alarm went off. She needed to get her kids ready for school and still rush off to work in the nick of time. She was intentional, carving out a new path for herself after all that had happened. To distract herself from everything, Hannah immersed herself in work and got along better with her colleagues. Her job seemed more intriguing to her as she put her mind to it consciously this time. She was seeking an opportunity to get to the peak of her career and had even applied for an opportunity to further her education. Her superiors had taken note of her dedication in the past months and she was soon
"Sam," Hannah called out to Samson who was smiling down at her. She did not believe she would ever see him again. He had not come to the island in a long time, probably because they were not an item any longer. She thought about him on some occasions and wished she did not treat him unfairly. What she still felt towards him was remorse for what she had done and she only sought an opportunity to apologize for everything. He had changed phone lines too, and she never bothered to ask Declan about his new numbers. She did not want to seem thirsty and desperate.Looking at him now, he seemed different, more handsome, and looking more fulfilled. A pair of glasses covered his eyes. She had never seen him in those before. Declan knew that it was a serious affair when a woman said they needed to talk. He wondered what had prompted her request. Samantha could not have possibly found out about the ploy they intended to carry out.He packed up the few things he had come to Abigail's place with and alerted Jason, his pilot, that he was ready to go back to the island. He told Abigail that there was an urgent business meeting at home and his presence was required. His phone rang when he arrived at the airport. It was Samantha and he dreaded answering it. He answered however on the second ring."I've been waiting at the hotel for over an hour now," she said once he pressed the phone to her ears."You know there is no need for that," heVindication of the Rejected Heir Chapter 155
Declan was not sure he heard what she had just said properly. He turned sharply to look at her."Are you sure?" He asked her. She nodded."I thought you would want to have that with Anthony instead," he said to her.Samantha was quiet as though she was thinking deeply about it. Anthony was a good man, no doubt, but he was still hung up on his last relationship and was a mummy's boy. She did not think she wanted to raise a son with someone like that. She needed a man to handle that aspect of her life, and Declan looked like one. We've always wanted a child together and I was thinking why don't we do this together too?" She asked him, not willing to taint Anthony there and then. "I was thinking of presenting you with that offer some time ago," he said to her. "But you were insisting on leaving me," she added. She turned to look at him. "I want us to do this together," she said quietly. "Co-parenting with you does not sit well with me. I want you to remain my wife," he said to her as
Samson arrived just in time to pick Hannah up for their date. He missed the evening session because he had another meeting. He was such a busy man these days that she wondered if he had time for himself. He would have no time to simp over her again. She had informed Kennedy and told him not to come to pick her up as she already had a ride. He insisted that he was told to take care of her, but she asked him not to worry about anything. Samson was waiting in the car when she came out of the hall. She entered the car immediately and he gave her a warm embrace. "I hope I'm in no trouble with your bodyguard, right?" He asked her in an amused tone as he began to drive. She looked at him. "Are you by any chance talking about Kennedy?" She asked him. "Of course," he replied and they both laughed. "Come on, he is just doing the job he was paid to do," she said to him. "And I must admit that he is very good with it," he replied. He drove on as they talked about other things. Whenever
