Hannah jumped off the bed immediately and it startled Kennedy who stood up and began to get dressed.
"Get out of my room," she shouted at him.
"Can you calm down?" He asked her gently. She would not hear of it.
"I said get out," she shouted again, pointing at the door.
Kennedy seemed embarrassed as he walked out of the suite not fully dressed. He could probably use a bathroom nearby.
She headed into the bathroom immediately to have her bath. Her flight was in an hour and she did not want to miss it. She would find something for her throbbing headache on the way to the airport.
As she got out with her bag, Kennedy rushed
They soon sat down to a bottle of wine and Declan decided to go first. After the hotel argument, Samantha went ahead to discuss parenting and adoption with Anthony and he was more than willing to do so with her even if he had no idea that they were doing things behind his back.Anthony went ahead and joined the rest of the party leaving them both with a heavy tension between them."What are you playing at?" He asked Samantha."I don't understand what you mean," she said to him and took a sip of her drink."I can as well go up there and tell Anthony everything that has been going on at his back between me and his perfect girlfriend," he said.
Samantha read through the message again as she could not believe her eyes. Just when she was having a change of mind towards their relationship, he decided to switch up on her.She felt something tug in her throat, something that looked like nausea, a certain kind of irritation that made her lightheaded. The thought of losing Declan was what did it to her.She wanted to refrain from going to Declan's mansion but it was obvious she did not have any choice. It was at this point that she realized that she may not be able to give him what he wanted as well. She dialed Anthony's number but he did not answer on the first and second ring.He was probably carried away by the party. It was the way he was. H
Hannah had been particularly excited to attend work on Monday morning, not just because she loved her job, but because she was also giddy with excitement about her new promotion."You know that I am so proud that you achieved this all on your own," Declan said to her at the end of the night before she left for home. He was one person that would believe in her no matter the cost, and his saying he was proud of her was all she needed to hear.Sometimes, she wondered how a person could be so good. They had had their share of differences in lives, but he had been quick to put it aside and support her wholly on her career path. She took out her favorite scrubs and placed them on the bed as she went to have her bath. She sang and danced excitedly as she had her bath, punching her hand in the air as she did so.She was still dancing as she dressed for work. She decided that a little makeup would not hurt anybody. She dabbed her face with some powder and applied a bit of gloss to her lips.Wh
"Kennedy?" Hannah began in disbelief. Just when she was about to put the memories of Australia behind her, here was one showing up before her in flesh and blood. She could not believe her eyes.He was looking strikingly handsome as usual, but this time, he did not look like a bodyguard. He was on a pair of scrubs as well and she was confused about what was happening."What are you doing here? Why are you in scrubs?" She asked him, needing answers to every confusion in her head."I can explain everything, Hannah," he said to her. "Just give me a listening ear," he added.Just then, the MD appeared by the door of the office."What is going on here?" He asked. Hannah did not know if he knew that Kennedy was her bodyguard in Australia, one she had a one-night stand with too. She was also careful of her reputation which was closely linked to her new position. She decided not to overreact."I was just on my way to your office sir," she said, feigning a smile. "I was just saying hello to our
Hannah was not happy to see Samson at all. She had wanted to invite him at her own time and her convenience, but Declan chose to make her plans futile. She did not say anything to either of them as she entered her house and Declan knew that she was not happy with the arrangement he had made for them.He asked Samson to wait in the living room while he followed her into her bedroom."What is he doing here?" She asked him as she dropped her bag on the bed."He pleaded with me to help him come see you," he said."Oh, so now, Samson needs your help to come to see me?" She retorted. He was quiet."What is eating him up that suddenly, he cannot come to see me on his own?" She asked Declan with her voice elevated. Declan signaled at her to bring down her voice but it irritated her more."Please, just come and hear what he has to say," he pleaded with Hannah. She decided to do so anyway because he had been a good person to her."I'm doing this because you are involved," she said as she headed
Daniel shot Declan a mischievous grin as he stepped into the courtroom. Declan almost did not recognize him. He looked lean and abandoned, something his well-tailored suit could not conceal as he was brought in. As he walked to his seat, he staggered so much that Declan thought that he would fall to the ground. That was not what Daniel was thinking about. Eight months behind bars had given him enough time to restructure his next move. He had been under the radar intentionally, choosing not to cause any trouble from behind bars. He wanted to come up unannounced and strike when the iron was the hottest. He had taken his time and the money he had stacked up, including his investments to raise a form of funding for his schemes. He knew who to meet and he started at the top. The court proceedings were only a camouflage to fulfill all righteousness. He had watered the hands of people in the system generously, in a way that would guarantee his freedom the following week. The proceedings were
The last thing Declan felt before he collapsed was excruciating pain in his knee. As his eyes fluttered open on the hospital bed, he felt the shot of that pain again, that sent jolts of electricity to course through his entire body.As he opened his eyes slowly, the bright hospital light almost blinded him and he shut them back immediately, trying to recall where he was. The last thing he remembered was that he was in the courtroom and a bit of chaos had happened. The beeping of the hospital machines was irritating to his ears and when he wanted to move, his body ached. He almost screamed from the pain in his knee.He looked around the ward and noticed that flowers and cards were wishing him a safe recovery. It was quiet. He had no idea how long he had been there and he wondered how much he had missed. He looked towards the window. It was dark outside. He made a painful attempt to stand up, and when he tried, he was back down on the bed soon enough. His eyes went to the armchair at
As Micheal dropped the news to Declan, it sounded like a bombshell, one he could not accommodate at all. Every other thing he said afterward fell on deaf ears as a piercing sound rang in his ears, one that shifted him from reality and plunged different thoughts into his head. The thought of his leg being amputated simply meant that he would not be able to walk on his own for the rest of his life. The bullet had lodged in a very sensitive area of his knee and could not be pulled out without an amputation. It was not something any top surgeon would do. He was already in the hospital with the best.If the bullet was left there without removal, it would eventually cause some form of nerve damage, and if it was taken out by force, there would also be some form of nerve damage and severe pain following the healing. He would require a large amount of physiotherapy to get better. He could not believe that Daniel had the upper hand again. If he lost his legs, it seemed like more punishment tha
