Chapter 167

Daniel shot Declan a mischievous grin as he stepped into the courtroom. Declan almost did not recognize him. He looked lean and abandoned, something his well-tailored suit could not conceal as he was brought in. As he walked to his seat, he staggered so much that Declan thought that he would fall to the ground.

That was not what Daniel was thinking about. Eight months behind bars had given him enough time to restructure his next move. He had been under the radar intentionally, choosing not to cause any trouble from behind bars. He wanted to come up unannounced and strike when the iron was the hottest.

He had taken his time and the money he had stacked up, including his investments to raise a form of funding for his schemes. He knew who to meet and he started at the top. The court proceedings were only a camouflage to fulfill all righteousness. He had watered the hands of people in the system generously, in a way that would guarantee his freedom the following week.
