Chapter 65

Daniel opened his eyes and breathed relief when he saw that he was not shot. Patricia had missed the shot and he wondered how dumb she was.

He was just in front of her, and at a very close range. If she wanted to kill him so badly, then she had missed a great opportunity to do so.

The gunshot had woken their son up, and they heard his cries.

Patricia stood there trembling. He charged at her and took the gun from her hand in one swift movement, hoping that the gunshot had not alerted anyone around.

The house was secluded in a thicket and they had no neighbors for about a mile and a half.

As she attempted to move and go pick the baby up, he slapped her so hard across the cheek.

She landed on the sofa and hit her head on the edge of a side table. Drops of blood soon appeared.

"Were you trying to kill me, you bitch?" He barked. She yelped in pain but he was not willing to render her any help.
