Chapter 82

Abigail quickly disentangled herself from Frank's grip as she saw Ferdinand standing by the doorway.

The hurt in his eyes was almost too painful to bear. He could not believe that Abigail would want to hurt him that way.

For the first two minutes, he stood transfixed while Frank picked up his jacket and walked out of the room with a wild mock grin on his face.

After he left, a devastated Ferdinand began to head out too. He made up his mind not to speak to him so he would not exude too much anger on her.

"It's not what you think," Abigail began. He looked at her in disbelief and continued to head out.

She held onto him, not willing to give up easily. He stopped but did not turn around to look at her.

"I know what I just saw," he said to her. His heart was pounding fast, and he feared that his health would fail him. He needed to get away from her as soon as possible.
