Ferdinand was not going to the restaurant with as much enthusiasm as he would have before.

He had not yet been able to get over what Abigail had done to him, and anger still surged through him. He still loved her, but he knew he would not condone what she had done.

She had called him countless times over the past week, but he had refused to answer her. She finally stuck to a voicemail and pleaded with him that they should meet.

He had ignored it twice, but at last, he sent her a message that said he would give her an audience.

As he went his way, he thought about Declan. They had not been best friends lately because of something that still seemed like an enigma to him.

He had barely found the time to talk things over with him, as he had been in the city with Daniel, who seemed harmless, probably because he had not disclosed his identity yet.

He knew he was treading on eggshells, but he decided that the risk would be worth it at the end of the day. He was still his son.
