Artemis sniffed, blinking rapidly to hold back the stream of tears that threatened to roll down her cheeks.

This was not something she wanted, it was far from it, but it was something she had to do, at least for the moment.

Getting back up on her feet, she dusted her dress and went back to packing what was left of her in the office.

She stood back to scan the office, every trace of her erased from it, it looked like she had never existed there.

Taking up the box, she walked out of the office. She took slow, steady steps as she walked out of the building.

Some co-workers waved and said their goodbyes, while others ignored and continued with their work.

While she was good at her job, Artemis was not exactly the best colleague to have.

And most people hated her at the office, not that they had the nerve to tell it to her face, but she heard their whispers and gossip.

It never bothered her, it was very much the least of her worries.
