Catherine jolted when she heard a thud from upstairs, and dismissed it when she heard no further noise.

Going back to her cooking, she stirred the eggs continuously, scrambling the eggs and turning over the bacon.

She wondered why Marilyn was not down yet, she was usually down for breakfast by this time.
