Chapter 22

“I have no idea, I'm just as clueless as you,” Hermès said, lifting his glass of whiskey back to his lips and wincing at the burning sensation at the back of his throat.

He placed the glass back on the table with a thud.

“I should get going, I have things to do,” he said, waving the waiter over for his bill.

“I should leave too, I have to tell the rest of me the sect of the recent developments,” Artemis said, getting up to leave too.

“Alright, see you around,” Hermès said as they parted ways.

Ivan drove as fast as he could, to beat traffic. His mind wandered. He was afraid something was wrong, and she would rather not mention it, probably something that had to do with Steve Anderson's death. But he'd taken care of that.

“I'm not going to worry until I've spoken to her” he cautioned himself as he pulled up into the driveway of the café.

He spotted her car up front and knew she was there already.
