Ivan pulled into the driveway of her company building, cutting the ignition and taking out the key.He stepped out of his car, taking firm strides to the door of the entrance. "You look stunning in it." Anna complimented.At that moment, Sara wanted nothing more than to see herself. She felt tears well up in her eyes and fought them back, blinking continuously."Hey," Anna said comfortingly, rubbing her arms slowly. "You will be fine soon, okay?" "I can't be fine, Anna, I'm blind," Sara said, shaking her head from side to side."Sara, I don't know if Ares has told you yet, but we're working on that," Anna said reassuringly "and soon you will have your sight back""Really? Hades had gotten a call earlier in the day from Tina saying her friend and client needed a defense attorney for a case that involved murder.The friend was guilty and the father of the deceased was about to press charges against her. Sara felt less tense and at ease, but still held on tight as she walked through, hand in hand with her right hand wrapped around his arm.Ares imagined what she might have gone through to be this scared to even walk through an alley with him here.“Thank you” Sara murmured under her breath, “I'm not a fan of alleyways, I don't have very nice experiences in them, so I just avoid them altogether.” She said, trying to explain, so she didn't look too weak.“I don't need you to explain yourself, Sara,” Ares said, placing a cold hand on the hand that held his arm. “I understand” Sara let out a sigh of relief, she was grateful that she was slowly beginning to have people who understood her, like Anna and Ares.They finally left the alley and Sara breathed a sigh of relief, she knew because she didn't feel the walls around her or the stink from the bins and rubbish.Ares felt her try to unwrap her hand from around his arm and placed his over hers to stop her.“Please don't,” he said “Okay”

Hades felt a strong presence, something immortal he couldn't place his hand on.Ivan had taken up a new mortal body after the war, so it would be physically hard for any of the new gods to physically identify him.Furthermore, he had masked his immortality earlier, so Hades wouldn't recognize him.Ivan, on the other hand, had perceived death and knew instantly that the one person who smelt like the dust of death was none other than Hades, he hadn't even bothered to change his name, bold of him, Ivan had thought.Hades went on with the questions, trying not to seem suspicious of his client, feeling a little uneasy from the hateful stares his client said his ex-husband was throwing him.“Were you at the scene on the day of the murder?” Hades asked.Vera glanced at Ivan before answering.“I was,” she said, pausing for effect, “for a few minutes, then I left because I got a call from the office.”“But you were taken for questioning from the deceased house, how come?” Hades asked further.

Sara felt the urge to ask the one question that had been on her mind ever since she got to know Ares, she hesitated a bit before summoning the courage to ask, promising herself to be okay with whatever the answer was going to be.“Ares,” she called, pausing for his reply “Yes, dearest,” Ares said with a mouthful of ice cream, dragging his eyes away from the tub to look at her with all his attention.“Who are you? What were you to me before the accident” she asked at once, not wanting her thoughts to stop her.Ares sighed, dropping his spoon and taking a napkin on the table to dab at his mouth. He had been expecting this question, but he could not quite say he was ready to answer it yet.But he knew Sara was a curious and inquisitive young woman and would not stop until she got her answers, he a mental note to not say anything about her powers or immortality for now.“It is okay if you don't want to talk about it yet,” Sara said half-heartedly she hoped he would say no and just tell
