Chapter 31

“So…yesterday?” Anna asked, turning a questioning gaze to him.

“It went well,” Ares said, smiling from ear to ear, “better than I thought it would.”

“I can tell from that smile,” Anna said, giggling, as she turned the Bacon over in the pan, moving back a little from the sizzling oil.

“Careful there,” Ares said, reaching out for a mug in a top drawer and pouring himself a cup of coffee.

“Did she remember anything?” Anna asked, putting off the stove and taking the pan down.

“Not really, but she was so inquisitive and paid attention to every detail” Ares answered, playing around with his fingers on the rim of the mug.

“You answered her every question?” Anna said, proceeding to set the table for breakfast.

“I did, and I'm sure she has even more questions for me yet.” He said putting his used mug in the sink.

“I’ll give her today’s dose when she gets down, and you do your part of making her remember, it’ll eventually come to her,” Anna said as she dished the bacon and eggs into the plates.
