Chapter 50

Hermès walked back into the bar, sneaking to the back and slipping in through the wall to the arena.

Walking through the door and into the hallway, he tracked back to where he had met her a couple of minutes ago.

She was nowhere to be found, Hermis looked around the hallway, deciding to check the dome of the closed doors.

He was on his third door when he found her sitting at the far end of what could be a study.

She was curled up in fetal style, with a glass of whiskey in hand.

“Artemis?” He called in a bid to get her attention, she had a faraway look in her eyes and seemed to be deep in her thoughts.

“I want to be left alone,” came her weak reply, " close the door behind you.”

“Artemis, are you okay?” He asked concerned.

“Do I look okay?” She asked back, shooting him a deadly glare.

“No, you don't?” Hermit answered, sitting on the side table beside her chair.

“What's wrong with Artemis?” He asked again, his heart clenching in his chest at what he knew was the answer.
