“I'm pregnant, Ares,” she said flatly.

Ares felt his heart thumping violently in his chest, begging silently that it wasn't what he thought it was.

Not now, not when he was with Sara, not when he was still making the head of their relationship.

It was the wrongest time for this to happen, and he knew she was not lying.

“Eve, what are you trying to say!” He bellowed at her.

“I am pregnant, Ares.” She paused, “And it's yours.”

“We have not been together since…” He started to say, trying to remember the exact date.

But was cut short by her drawl voice.

“I know who the father of my child is and exactly when I got pregnant.”

Ares sighed, unable to say a word. His brain could not construct a tangible word to describe his feelings at the moment.

“What do you want, Eve?” He asked.

“Oh nothing, Ares,” she said, “why would you even assume that I want something from you?” She asked, feigning surprise.

“Because it's you, Eve, you always want something.”
