173 - REFINING

At twelve in the night.

Edgar was still practicing his sword skills. He kept thrusting the sword, and every time he did so, an electric charge dispersed from the tip of the sword and struck the tree trunk. He wasn’t putting all of his strength into the attack, so it only left a burnt mark on the tree.

When he went farther from the tree, it became harder for him to hit with the same thrusting technique, and he kept mission nine out of ten times. After practicing for hundreds of times, Edgar felt frustrated. “It’s getting harder to control lightning the farther it is from me… The only special case is…” he looked up at the sky. There was a lightning spear he stored high up in the sky, near the low clouds. “I don’t know how I did it, but it just happened on a spur…”
