The title fits the chapter release perfectly because I haven't updated since 100 days or more. I'm extremely sorry for that. I told you guys that I would release chapters as frequently as I can, but I couldn't do that because I have too many ongoing novels. To get past this darned hurdle, I'm going to finish two to three ongoing novels in the next month or two, and then I'll try to post updates regularly until I finish this novel. No more stopping or breaking again unless it's for health reasons. For these coming two months, however, don't expect regular updates. I will try my best to update the chapters at least sporadically. Sorry for this great inconvenience.
As the matches continued on in the colosseum, Fabby who was sitting in the audience stands along with her brother sent a signal through the earth. The earth in front of Gavin moved a bit, and words appeared on the surface.“Greetings, Elder. This is Fabby. My brother urgently needs an ice bath. Can we leave now?”Gavin glanced in their direction and sent a mental message, “Why are you asking me that? Your matches are finished, so you can go, but be careful. Since you two are not in good condition, someone might pick on you guys.”“I’ll keep that in mind, Elder Gavin,” Fabby replied. (Did he just send a message directly to my brain? How did he do that?) She then looked at Edgar who was still huffing. “Let’s go, Eddie.”“Where?” Edgar quickly asked.“You should have an ice bath,” Fabby insisted. “It will help with your recovery.”“But I want to watch the matches. I'll take a bath later.”“These matches will take so long.”“Still, I will watch.”“Don’t be like that!” Fabby grabbed his ha
Dwarves took pride in very few things such as their ability to drink, to hammer iron and steel, to walk on hot coals, and to also have the courage to take a hit to the nose. Whenever a dwarf did something wrong, they would often get hit in their noses, because their noses were made for taking a beating. They were not stone-hard but were more rubbery. This was why dwarves were capable of sneezing long distances, and they could even breathe freely in a smoky coal chamber. They were literally built to breathe even in volcanic regions and work in mines deep underground. Nole obviously took great pride in his hook nose, which was quite popular among dwarven ladies. He had taken many hits on his nose and was confident of even blocking a sword with it. However, all that confidence was utterly crushed now because his beautiful nose was flattened from a single hit from Edgar. Of course, it wasn’t the strength of Edgar that did it, and it had more to do with the heavenly hammer! Nole’s cover
Nole was completely knocked out from Gossini’s attack. It wasn’t with sheer power that she knocked him out, but she just struck him hard enough to force all the air out of his lungs and also to send a sudden shock to his brain. All this resulted in Nole losing his consciousness.Gossini grabbed him by his foot and tossed him to the edge of the pool, onto the land.“H-He’s the reason Edgar was acting that way,” Fabby quickly said. “Yeah, that’s probably the case. There was no way my little brother would have tried to peep on women. He’s not that kind of a guy.”“But you definitely got angry at him for just that reason, though,” Gossini softly said.“U-Uh, well, I was just taken by shock, and…” Fabby didn’t know what to say to cover up. “Anyway, it doesn’t matter now because we know that this dwarf is the real peeper! Edgar must be fighting him because of that. What do you think we should do with him?”“If it’s up to me, I’ll just off him,” Gossini indifferently said.“What?” Fabby was
About seven years ago, in a small village named Uvajed.A young girl and a younger boy were walking together, carrying wood and some vegetables and wheatgrass on their backs. Both had green hair, and the boy’s arms were tanned, because he usually spent a lot of time playing outdoors, but the other parts of the body were fair, though not as much as his sister. The girl was wearing simple clothes and a small jasmine garland in her hair.“Let’s go to the seashore again this weekend, Fabs,” the boy said, sounding excited.“No.”“Huh? Why?”“I can’t swim against those monstrous waves like you,” she said. “They scare me.”“I’ll teach you.”“No thanks. I’m fine with swimming in shallow waters.” Besides, the reason she always accompanied him was because she was afraid of something bad happening to him, and also she could fetch some herbs and flowers growing near the shore, though she hadn’t gathered much that day.“Ouch!” an ant bit on the boy’s foot. He was about to stoop down, but his siste
She couldn’t believe her ears. (This has to be a dream.) She thought and pinched herself. But nothing changed.“However, I’m not sure if things go so well,” he kept talking. “You used to be the most beautiful woman in the town, but who’d have thought that in just two years, you’d have turned into a pig? There’s no way he’s going to like you now. But if you slim down in a year or two, then you can still—”“Pravash, stop. This isn’t funny at all.” She bit the inside of her cheek, trying to cope with all the unpleasantness developing.“That’s why…” he put his hand on her shoulder, “I think it’s better to let Fabby do the job.”She was absolutely stunned to hear that and kept staring at him in stunned silence.“If it’s her, then we might even be paid in extra—”BAM~!“Enough!” she punched him in the chest, taking him by surprise. “Don’t say another word, or I might kill—” Just then her eyes enlarged. “Y-Your heart…”“Tch, you realized it…” he grabbed her throat. “But you think you can kil
The days after the nightmarish night, Edgar and Fabby had seen quite many things that they’d never even imagined were possible. After they escaped Uvajed, they had to roam the streets and eat spoils. Mornings were rough, but they were nothing compared to the nights when beggars and orphans fought for sleeping spots on the street. But that wasn’t all. The night patrol officers targeted children, especially male children and snatched them away for the night. Fabby and Edgar were on constant run for many days and nights without stopping, hiding at various places. The sad reality struck them very hard. The people who were supposed to protect them were so cruel in their ways that these siblings spent every minute shivering. Even though they crossed different villages and towns, the officers that targeted boys at night didn’t change. In fact, they came to know that most patrol officers who get posted during the nights were those interested in boys and generally abused them for years. Be it
Months turned to years.Even though working in the fields had become a daily habit, so did the body pains. If not feet, then legs; if not legs, then back; if not back, then something else in the body took the turn. And by the time they got home, they were pretty tired, yet they wouldn’t be able to eat what they had produced or found. They were only given a limited amount of food such as corn or grains so they could make soup and live with it. The same plain soup with no vegetables in them whatsoever waited for them every night. And they were not paid anything else for their labor, for they were forced to work for the rest of their lives. There was no contract. Nothing. They were pretty much treated like cattle, or maybe even worse, with the only difference being their ability to talk. No matter how they were treated, they still worked hard, for most of them had reasons, be it their children and families.Fabby had Edgar, and Edgar had Fabby. Everyone had someone else they were willing
Coming back to the present. The eagle had no idea who Edgar was, so Fabby had to do all the work except for flying. “Where is he?”She was worried for many reasons. The eagle even flew over the colosseum grounds, and she shouted for him, “Are you there, Eddie?”“Who’s that?” some masters and disciples wondered as she wasn’t clearly visible from below. “How rude of her to be flying over this place when the competition is still going on?”“He’s not here, either,” Fabby told the eagle to keep flying. As she kept looking around, she noticed someone bathing in an open pond. Just when she looked at him, he also looked up. She remembered his face mask. This was the same guy she met in a cave not long ago.Numo was not wearing a shirt right now, and his body was pristine white. It wasn’t muscular, but it still looked athletic and toned. It was very attractive, especially because he was a tall man.“Ahem,” Fabby looked away. After the eagle flew out of his sight, Numo continued rubbing his body
