57 - A LONG DARK NIGHT

The whole hospital collapsed, but nobody cared to help. Other than one single soul, pushing the rubble aside and looking for survivors, no other helper was in sight.

“Please be alive, sis,” Edgar kept digging through the rubble fast while being gentle and careful.

Before he could find any soul, a wild dog had snuck in from behind and bit his shoulder.

“Ahh!” Edgar cried out. The dog was of typical size, but its bite was freakishly strong and bone-gripping. Edgar screamed and grabbed its face. His fingers instinctively searched for its eyes and poked them. The dog squealed and let go of his shoulder. He lifted a big block in the rubble and smashed the dog’s head with it.

His shoulder was hurting, but he didn’t stop. He kept searching. F
