“Drop dead!” the whip came down crashing like fire from heaven and brought Edgar with it.

“What the hell is happening here?” a thunderous voice that echoed in the hall made Karrsitt stop. He looked toward the entrance, and a gray-haired old man strode in, his steps heavy.

“High Elder Garvin!” the masters were all startled, and they immediately lowered their heads.

“Karrsitt, don’t you know that one shouldn’t fight in this hall?” asked Gavin, almost in a demanding tone.
