Edward turned to Roselyn with a gaze as warm as the sun. "Trust me when I say that I didn't buy it for that much."

Roselyn frowned. "Why am I not convinced by your words, Ed?"

"I saw an art exhibition before I picked you up, darling." Edward tried to reassure his wife. "It turned out to be a charity auction and many works of art were on display there, one of which was that painting. I bought it quite cheaply."

The frown on Roselyn's forehead did not diminish by a millimeter, but she had nothing to say to Edward again. Roselyn chose to remain silent.

Meanwhile, Derek, who was sitting near Edward, really wanted to die right now.
