Chapter 23.GRUDGE

Edward seemed to blink his eyes for a while. He understood that his wife was beginning to feel suspicious of him. But it was not time for Edward to tell her about his identity, even to his own wife.

“Hahaha...,” Edward laughed out loud in response to his wife's words. “You're funny, darling. You're not under the influence of alcohol, are you?”

“No, I'm not. I'm even very sane right now.” Roselyn stared intently at her husband.

Edward was thinking hard. Looking for a way to take his wife's mind off it.

Jealousy.

Yes, only with jealousy, a woman would no longer focus on her other thoughts.

“Why the silence?” Roselin put more pressure on Edward to answer her question. “Perhaps my suspicions are correct. Look at me. I so easily got the contract with Marcosta's company.”

“Hey! You're thinking too much, honey,” Edward said, trying to reassure his wife. “I am not Mr. Steel, the new chairman of the Marcosta company.”

“Then where were you when Mr. Steel appeared on the virtual screen?”
