Chapter 23

Jim followed them from behind like he was some prisoner, the two men guarding him from both like a notorious criminal.

His eyes remained pitch clear with curiosity. But he wasn't confused. He already had ideas in his head of where all these could be coming from.

But this wasn't the perfect time that he needed to be getting into trouble. Not when he had to find a way to accomplish his task.

His mind raced with possibilities. Maybe he could escape while their intense attention was focused on him.

However, that could escalate everything. And point out that he was guilty if there was an accusation staying just ahead of him.

Jim, being true to his task or his reasoning threatened to tear him apart that he almost yelled at the top of his voice.

And then, it came like a hot rod stab right through his heart.
