The Chosen Ones Part 2

Something is really wrong here, Julian wondered. Reading the list a few times, he noticed one other thing: the time really didn't decrease as he thought the first time but increased. Although it was something he didn't notice the first time and was not sure if the last time he saw it was 23 hours or 24 hours, but it was obvious that it had increased now instead of decreasing.

Anyway, that is a different issue that he can solve at the moment; the urgent thing is to navigate the situation that he is facing now. The question is who to go straight to, wherever the destination that he supposedly reached was, and there is a fight going on in front of him, it is not like he can say, "Excuse me, can you please stop fighting until I pass?" He had no prior experience in situations like this or any other situations to being with.

Standing in his place, he first looked at the man, who was standing alone and watching the fight like him. The man noticed when he approached them but didn't even glance at him. He thought, "This is the best time to check this thing called "Detection Skill," and whispered, "Detect."

Instantly, the screen flashed in front of him with new information, but this it was not about him it was about the man standing a few meters ahead of him.

"Detect skill has been activated."

Nam: Ozak

Age: 18

Race: Human

Rank: Rearguard

Status: healthy

Skills: Nil

Intelligence: 180

Strength: 20/100

Gifts: Nil

Grade: 1

Phase: 1

Points: 0

Remarks: ?????

Mission: Survive

Duration: 24 hours

Reward: Mystery map + skill

The way the information was displayed was similar to his, but with several differences. What he noticed and found interesting to him was "Mission: Survive" near the end of the paragraph, which meant they were both on the same mission, the survival mission. Still, that doesn't mean anything to him; all that mattered was to finish these unending 24 hours. Although he was ready for anything when he participated in this experiment and was expecting a certain level of danger, but not the risk to his life, that was not part of the deal, the deal that didn't exist, actually.

So this thing called "skill" is something useful, at least he found out some interesting information. How useful it will be, he doesn't care much about how useful it will be at the moment. Now he's focused his attention on two men who were fighting. The speed at which they were exchanging hits was something beyond his understanding. First of all, he had never been in a fight in his entire life, except for some bullying that targeted him on a few different occasions, and he never witnessed a sword fight or even a regular fist fight. Not that he lived in a peaceful place, but his physical condition never allowed him to take part in any physical activity.

For the first few seconds, it was even hard for him to follow with his eyes, the fight that was going on, he was even unable to concentrate on one person to cast the skill on, none of them were standing even for a split of a second in one location, so the only option he had was to watch and see how it ends. By just watching for a few seconds, he was fascinated by the their movement, there was something appealing about it, like it was kind of art or a splendid dance, not a fight.

He thought, "The only word I could use to describe this fight is splendid." The two men who were fighting, one of whom was younger and wearing a uniform that he couldn't recognize, and the other was a middle-aged man wearing a casual dress, were still strange to him since they didn't look familiar to him. Not that he was aware of the other cultures and the clothes they wear in other continents or countries, but he had never left his birthplace until today.

At the beginning, the younger one seemed to be attacking and the older one defending, but within a second, it changed when the older one increased his speed and his attacks became hard to parry from the younger one's perspective. With a quick move, the older one switched his weapon with his other hand, took a step closer, and used his shoulder to push him. Not giving him a split second to recover, he followed up with a kick from his knee, and with his sword, he did a move that Julian couldn't really comprehend or even describe. With that last move, he disarmed the man he was fighting, and the sword was pointing at his neck.

That was the end of the fight, the younger man, being without a weapon, was only able to stand still and do nothing, Julian, as much as he was fascinated by the fight, still wanted and wished to know who they were when the skill was activated, and apparently that activated the skill without him requesting it, and the information of the young man popped up on the screen in front of him.

Name: Murad

Age: 29

Race: Human

Rank: Captain, intelligence and security officer

Status: healthy

Skills:-

1- Ranger

2- Swordsmen

3- I-Sight

Intelligence: 100

Gifts: Nil

Grade: 1

Phase: 1

Points: 0

Remarks: Officer assigned to guard Ozak .

"That information doesn't help, on the contrary, it's confusing me more." Julian thought to himself again, "What is a pig shot like this man doing here?  Why is he fighting this middle-aged man? Who is that other man he is guarding? And finally, why is there no mission or reward for him, and it exists for the man he is supposed to guard? Too many questions were what he got instead of the answers that he was expecting to get.

He then turned his gaze to the middle-aged man and cast the skill on him, and as expected, the information changed immediately to the middle-aged man's details, but when he saw what was in front of him, he couldn't believe his eyes; it was so shocking and unbelieveable that he almost fell to his knees. And he almost shouted loudly, "What the hell is going on here? ".

Without even thinking much about it, without me doing it intentionally, I nodded with my head and said, "Yes, I do have some weapons." Suddenly, the screen popped in front of me again, and this time, the inventory was unlocked without me doing anything.- Unlocked inventory- Weapons available: 3 sets1. Two long swords, grade A 2. Two long daggers, grade A3. Two laser guns, one short-range and one long range.Tap into the desired weapon; it will materialize and be ready for your use.Was it natural for it to happen that way? I was wondering who this young girl was, but before I asked anything, Aden spoke and asked us to introduce ourselves. Apparently, he c

I was surprised by the additional information that appeared on the screen in front of me, so this clearly means that there will be a lot of fights like these in the future since all these weapons are in my possession, and I have to use them also, but how will I be able to do that? I don't have any fighting or weapon training; weren't they supposed to teach and train me first before throwing me into a situation I have knowledge about?. While I was thinking about these things, which were irrelevant to the situation that we were facing, I heard the boy with the rifle introduce himself to the woman and the kids. Even though I was not sure how or exactly when that happened, it reached me that instant. I had a feeling that something was wrong with the way everything was happening. It wasn't that it was a language that he couldn't understand; it was actually in clear, understandable English. Then what is the meaning behind it? That was what he couldn't understand at all, as stated from the beginning. Name Azmar, Age: 19, Race: Human, Rank: A Level: 5, Occupation: Vanguard, let's start with the name he knew was his real name; he was given that name since he was unable to remember his real name. That was the only thing he could understand, but the line showed Age 19. That is hard to believe, even though he doesn't remember his real age. There is no way that I will be that young; "I can feel it deep down that I am almost double that age, or at least close to it." That was what he thought. He did actually look young when he looked at himself in a mirror, the one that he was looking at didn't look familiar at all because

The only difference was how realistic it was, it was like it literally appeared in front of me and was printed in the air. The situation we were in was not a normal one, but one more surprising thing happened to me. A virtual screen appeared out of nowhere in front of me with information supposedly prevailing about my status. This is a status screen, something I am well aware of in video games. The games that belonged to my brother that I used to play behind his back since, from my parents point of view, I was too young to play them, though I am not a child, I am 10 years old, huh? He paused at the point like he was contemplating something else, then he said, addressing me and Azmar, "You two stay behind us; we will protect you." Worries appeared on his face when he said that.Actually, we have weapons." I said that my assumption that Azmar has weapons was also based on what I saw on my status screen, I was sure of it; in fact, the only thing that I was not sure of was whether I was able to use the weapons that I have. Author' noteI apologize for the short chapter. I didn't forget my promises to write longer chapters. The thing is, I am stuck on the fight scenes. It's really more difficult than you think, since my aim to begin with is to present to you something different than the norm that we see in most novels. I don't want something exaggerated. At the same time, it has suited the situation that the obstacle I am facing at the moment is, since some of my readers have also requested that I add some fighting and actions to my story rather than just narration. So I am trying my best to satisfy all of you. The next chapter will be longer than normal, as will the last part of this chapter, so bear with me. Also, I am open to any of your suggestions, so please don't hesitate to write your comments. So far, all we knew in the first volume was that he was looking for his wife, and that was all he was looking for. Where was he imprisoned? What for? There were a lot of questions that no one asked and nobody answered, and no one will unless someone dares ask the correct question. Also, I edited the previous chapter, its not just a copy of the same chapter of the first volume to go along with the current retelling of the story without changing much from the original story as a recap because of the importance of the story line. I remember one reader asking me if I was just filling in the characters for the sake of my book, and he was specifically talking about Jack :) I hope now he got the answer.
