"Three are down, another three are remaining, and their back is coming towards us," said the young boy to the man beside him. "How many?" asked the man back to the young man. He answered, "Another six men." The man's face changed color immediately and he looked back to his wife and said, "I am sorry Hina, Luke will take care of you, until you reach the city, and I will take care of this.".

Without waiting for any response from the woman he called Hina, he gave a last look at the two kids and turned his face back to the young man, saying, "Farwell brother, I will go now," and immediately he stood up and jumped to his right side and started running.

The children started crying, and so did the woman. He didn't give them any chance to say anything; all of that just took a few seconds. Luke was shocked also, and he stopped firing, him stopping firing, the children crying, and the man ran out, all this happened in just around five seconds.

The men who were shooting at them also stopped firing back at the same time, as it appears they were not expecting the man to come out and run in the opposite direction. They had already lost three men to a sharp-shooting young man, but their goal was to capture the man who fled.

The issue is the young man who is shooting back at them. People's reaction times and ways are totally different. Two of them reacted immediately after the young stopped shooting and ran after the man, and the third one's hesitation cost him his life.

----------------------

Jennan was uncomfortable walking in this forest. It was the first time in her life she had walked outdoors, never went outside of the city, and never needed to walk more than a few meters at a time. She had been walking for hours, how many she didn't know. She could only estimate it by three to four hours. It's almost noon according to her estimate from the time she came to find herself in this forest. It's a total of six hours, maybe seven. She felt confused more than once.

She has no fixed destination she has to go to. She doesn't know where she was, or even what she was doing here, or what the purpose of bringing her here. The only thing she had been told by the message was to survive for twenty-four hours. She had found in the bag food and water. The food looked like the military ration, small packs of dried food, meat, and vegetables. Although the test was very strange, but at the end, it was food and was enough to fill her stomach.

Luckily, she hadn't encountered anything dangerous for the past hours, that she had been walking, and if things kept on going this way, she could survive the remaining eighteen hours. The only mission she has received until now is to survive. The only thing that is bothering her at the moment is that, she is filled with frustration and anger. Most of the anger is directed towards herself, for accepting this shady matter.

She was immersed in her thoughts, when suddenly a foggy mist appeared from nowhere and the visibility became zero in front of her in a few seconds. Everything around her was covered by a thick fog, and she was unable to see even a few meters ahead of her, let alone that if she raised her arm forward she was unable to see half of her arm. She could only see until her elbow only.

The only solution she could think of was to stand where she was, and that is what she did. She tried to remember if there was anything unique around her, but couldn’t remember anything. Simply because she was not paying enough attention to her surroundings, her thoughts were occupied by thinking and her brain was scattered everywhere.

And now she suddenly felt scared. The fear started from deep down in her heart and felt cold in all of her joints. "So now, the horror will start." Finally, she figured out what the meaning of "survive" was. Obviously, something will come through this fog and will start chasing me. Since I can't see anything in front of me, I know I will stumble over a small rock, or a root of a tree, or something, whatever it is, and I will fall down. Then that would be my end.

Certain scenarios and more came through her mind, even though she was frozen in her location, unable to move anywhere or do anything. Fear consumed her thoughts, and her body became subjected to her mental condition, and she started shaking and feeling cold and chill.

During her travels inside this forest, she didn't come across any animals or beasts or anything. The only sound she used to hear was the sound of the wind bustling through the leaves of the trees. That was the main reason she was relaxed and forgot to be vigilant. Now she started hearing footsteps on her right side, someone walking cautiously, like a beast wants to jump on its prey.

So that is it. This is my end, and here comes the beast that's going to eat me finally.

But it seems like it was the footsteps of a human, I don't think it's a beast. The beasts in this world are intelligent enough to catch their prey even if they can't see them. They don't need to move cautiously like this one. Her thoughts were everywhere, sometimes thinking the worst things and sometimes thinking rationally. She didn't move or say anything, looking to where she heard the footsteps sound coming from, even holding her breath involuntarily, sacred if one single sound comes from here, it will be the last.

No..No, I do not have any idea what's going on here. I don't have any idea totally, I started shaking my head sideways. Suddenly, there was no fog and it was as clear as it could be in a dense forest. Although I don't have a scientific understanding of how fog or mist works, the speed at which it cleared was anything but normal or natural. Still holding the box in my hands, I looked around. I hadn't walked that far from where the vehicle was on the main road, and I figured if I took my steps back, I'd be there in minutes. But should I do that? That was another question among the list of questions I have no answer to, including finding myself in a strange world. There is an ornament on each side of it, but there is no visible loc

  • Wake Up And Run   Coincidence Twice

While Jennan was holding her breath and concentrating on the area where the sound was coming from, a shadow appeared and her heart skipped a beat. A huge breath came out of her. She was not even aware that she was holding her breath when a young man came into her view. When he saw her, he stopped and started looking back at her.She was not expecting to see a human in this forest. Looking at him from top to bottom, she found out he was a young man, not more than sixteen years old, with brown hair, light skin, and black eyes. His height was not taller than 165 centimeters (5.6 inches). He was wearing a strange clothes, but apparently it was a traveling colth. At his back, he was carrying a backpack; though it was hanging on one shoulder, but it looked similar to the one she was given. For a few seconds, each one of them was looking at the other one, standing still, perhaps waiting for the other one to take the initiative, but none of them moved or said anything. "Anyway, the adventure will start now," she thought, "and sooner or later we will see each other, although I have to think of some way to find him since he can't look for me and he doesn't remember me, although I wonder why that man let me keep my memory, anyway there is nothing I will gain from thinking about that, I have to think about how to change the situation to my favor."Looking around the dense forest, she was still in deep thought; her mind was working at high capacity, but she was still capable of noticing where her foot was landing, and everything surrounding her. Usually, when someone is in deep thought, it's impossible for him or

I hope we have enough time to implement all the security measures that we have been working on." Without a second thought, she pressed the send button and returned the device to the same drawer. The thing I was referring to as a portal was forming in the same location I have been seeing it in my dreams, or, to say it correctly, my nightmares. And the reason I am referring to it as a portal is because I knew it was, because I saw it with my own closed eyes at that time, the monsters coming out of it, which indicates that it was a portal of some kind. I have been afraid my dreams would come true, and I didn’t wish for it, but somehow I had the feeling that whatever I saw would happen, but I hoped it would be in a different day and time; a time when I was better prepared for it and was able to take some kind of countermeasure for it.I have no idea what kind of countermeasure I could have been able to take. He was staring at a black portal that was enormous, over four meters tall and ten meters wide, with a black square shape instead of the typical gateway portals seen on this planet. It was both smokey and liquid-like at the same time, and he was unable to determine what material it was composed of. It was moving like a live entity with a pulsating heart, but it was not changing shape. In a matter of seconds, it gained shape and materialized in front of him at the location the youngster had indicated. He felt a terrible sensation throughout his body. This is what the young man was talking about. He told himself, "So it's all true then," confirming the first thing the boys had mentioned. Chapter 32Intermission Jack’s side story Part 1Anther's note:This is Jack’s story recap as I told it in the first volume, but I will now add the missing parts that were not known to anyone in the first volume or the second volume until now, or what was his connection to the storey line? So far, all we knew in the first volume was that he was looking for his wife, and that was all he was looking for. Where was he imprisoned? What for? There were a lot of questions that no one asked and nobody answered, and no one will unless someone dares ask the correct question. Also, I edited the previous chapter, its not just a copy of the same chapter of the first volume to go along with the current retelling of the story without changing much from the original story as a recap because of the importance of the story line. I remember one reader asking me if I was just filling in the characters for the sake of my book, and he was specifically talking about Jack :) I hope now he got the answer.
