Wake Up And Run

This is another world 4

While I was thinking of all the things that I can't do anything about, maybe I let my guard down because of the security following me, even if I noticed it at the same time it happened I doubt that I could have been able to change anything, in fact I was expecting something to happen any time, in less than a blink of an eye everything changed in my surroundings, and I found myself in a forest instead of wide road in a city that I was walking on, all it took was just one step to change my location, not just me alone also the security guard that was following me was behind me with the same distance as before, we both stood still in our location only just moving our heads from side to a side looking at every direction.

I was the first one to come back to reality and ask him, "What happened?" "Where are we?". Apparently he was in a shock and was not able to say anything. The training he took showed in the way he stood in a full battle ready mode, holding his weapon in his hand to shoot anything that moved, or at least that is the way it seemed to me. When I saw his attention was not on me, I started looking around me once more. How this happened was beyond even my imagination, so all I needed to think about was being vigilant and prepared for anything that could happen.

I didn't have to wait for long. The next thing I heard was a loud and scary roar coming from my right side, and what came next to my vision was a huge beast, almost the size of an elephant, maybe ten or twenty centimeters shorter. At first glance, it looked like a large hybrid of a hyena and a gorilla; its mouth was borrowed from an alligator. The pressure I felt from its presence was incredible. I had only a second to look at it and understand that what was in front of me was a predator like no other.

If I stayed for a few more seconds, I am a goner for sure, and the instinct took over my brain and body at once, and I don't even remember when I decided to run. All I saw was myself running to the opposite side as fast as my legs could allow me to, I didn't think I just ran; I didn't think of what if it was faster than me, and would catch up to me eventually since I can't keep on running forever. After all, I don't know where I was or who or what else is there, I didn't even look back behind me and check on the man who was with me a few seconds ago.

I ran and ran, just avoiding the trees in front of me and any other obstacles on the ground. The roar of the beast was coming behind me, and for some reason, without me seeing anything, I sensed the guards running behind me, and behind him, the beast was chasing both of us, but I was ahead of them not by much, just around five meters, and that was enough for me to put my mind at ease for a bit. The only thing I was thinking about was surviving this dangerous beast,

I have noticed while running for my life, that my mind is in fact clear, my heart is not racing, and my breathing is as normal as when I was walking. Yet, I panicked when I saw the beast and ran. It's true that I felt scared, but at the same time, my mind and body were behaving like it was a normal thing. "This is a beast you can't defeat," so just run, "was what my mind and body were telling me. Even I had time to search for what type of beast it is.

"Nowhere to run" was a saying I used to hear when all doors closed on you. Now I was literally in that situation; everywhere around me is a forest, and I can't do anything else. So how will I be able to escape from this beast behind me? I can't fight it; I don't have anything on me to use, and there is no way I can face it with my bare hands. But I already did and got all the information about it, through the chip in my brain. By simply looking at it and asking what it is, I got its information immediately; it was copied to my brain as if I knew it all along, and this is the information I obtained.

• Darkas: One of the most dangerous beasts on this planet. It is classified as a B-class beast. A group of 4 people, each of grade C, can confront it and are able to kill it if they work as a team, Darkas is a hybrid beast between 2 different beasts ( Hogard and Astard), and the male Darkas is a hunter by nature, ferocious and mostly active during the day; it doesn't hunt at night. After killing its prey, it eats until it's satisfied and full, then starts hunting and takes it to its den for its female and offspring weakness: fire and a direct shot to its head; its hide is very hard to cut unless you have a laser weapon.

So how on earth will I be able to fight it? Although I am not on earth, and surely there is a way to kill it, in this world but that is not something I am capable of doing at the moment. Even the armed security guard is running behind me, and he is armed with weapons, although I don't know what kind of weapons he has on himself. But whatever they are, they appear to be not enough to kill or confront it at this time, and that is why he is running behind me.

At least there is only one Darkas chasing us from behind, and they hunt like a pack; while I was thinking about all that, I don't know why. Really, my mind is functioning on its own, and most of the time I think about a lot of irrelevant things. I don't know if I was like that on earth, but since I woke up in this world, I have been like that. Or maybe because I didn't have anyone to converse with during the past few weeks, I developed this habit of talking to myself and overthinking everything. Anyway, whatever the reason was, I was thinking nonsense and running at the same time.

When I suddenly heard a gunshot, at first I thought it was just a hallucination, because it was clearly a regular gunshot that I was accustomed to back on earth, and the weapon they use in this world is more sophisticated than our regular guns. Then, once again, another gunshot followed, and instinctively, I almost stopped, then immediately looked behind me. Surprisingly, my guard and the beast both stopped and stood still, and then I stopped listening to the gunshots that were coming from the direction that we were running towards

I could understand why I and the guard stopped simply because no sane person will run toward someone who is firing a gun, but what about the beast? Why did it also stop? The answer came instantly without looking for the answer, "The Darkas is among the intelligent beasts on the planet, and it's aware that the bullets of the guns can injure it or even kill it," so that is why it also stopped. It didn't stay that way, but it also turned and ran back where we came from, asking, "What should we do now?" I asked the guard before he even opened his mouth because the earth suddenly started shaking below us like an earthquake.
