The white Full Palace of Darkness towered high; beautiful and sturdy towers were all around it. The Crimson Country was ruled by the Ice Clan, and it had been 100 years since the Ice Clan became the leader of the country. At this time, the Crimson Country was under the leadership of King Edward.
The people of Crimson Country had various kinds of power. All clans were grouped together and had their own territories. The palace was in the center of all these territories, floating in the middle of the water. There is a large bridge to connect the clan territories. King Edward was a fair and kind leader, although, although he came from the Ice Clan, he did not treat all his subjects equally. The king did not give special treatment to the Ice Clan. All the people of Crimson felt fine under King Edward's leadership; everything was safe and secure, there was prosperity, and there were no serious disturbances. All clans did have their own territories, but that did not mean that their territories were forbidden to be visited by other clans. They already lived side by side, worked together, and helped each other. All clans can be distinguished easily, and their strengths can be distinguished and recognized by the color of their respective clothes. Besides that, there are also bracelets and tattoos that indicate which clan a person belongs to. There are eight clans in the Crimson Country. There are clans of fire, water, wind, ice, light, earth, plants, and lightning. All of them intersect with each other and are needed for the welfare of the country. Darren was born into the Fire Clan; he has been learning to control fire since he was a child. But even so, Darren felt that he wasn't very good yet and had to study harder in order to create and control his fire. Darren was currently stepping out of the fish market, feeding Yupo until the giant cat was full. All clans had one huge market; any clan could trade and buy any goods in that place. In a way, the marketplace was where all the clans mixed together after the Full Palace of Darkness. As he walked, Darren was thinking about the thief he had faced a moment ago. The thief could disappear; the power did not come from the Crimson Country; Darren had only seen something like that. "He's different; he's not from here; none of the Crimson people have the power to disappear." Darren dove into his own train of thought. "Did the thief use witchcraft or a spell? But that's impossible; there's nothing like that here." Dizzy himself, Darren shook his head weakly. He would think about that later. He stroked Yupo's soft fur as he walked. "Yupo?""Meow." "I need you to come home; I have to help mom at the market again. You're full, aren't you?" "Meow." Darren nodded briefly. "Alright, you'll know your way home; now rest at your house; I'll be back in the afternoon. You got it, buddy?" Yupo made another noise in response to Darren's words. Darren stroked the giant cat's soft fur again, then whispered that Yupo could go now. Yupo meowed before he finally turned around and left, bounding away on all four powerful legs. Darren continued to stare at Yupo's departure until Yupo was out of sight. Only then did Darren head back to the shop where his mother sold cakes and bread."Mom, I'm back." "Darren, what took you so long? Mom's been waiting for you." Darren grimaced unpleasantly; he then apologized, saying that he was sorry for being late. Helena didn't take it any further and told Darren to bake more cookies as there were quite a few customers today. Darren's clothes were perfectly dry. He can create fire the way he wants. This afternoon, Darren did give Helana permission to pee, and when he was about to return to the shop, Yupo appeared, meowing with hunger. That's when Darren realized that he forgot to give Yupo food. He was in such a hurry to go to the shop that he forgot about Yupo. Later, when Darren and Yupo decided to walk to the fish market, a woman shouted that someone had just stolen her wallet. Darren reflexively wants to help the person, but as it happens, he fails.Darren was busy making cakes and breads until the shop closed in the afternoon at around five o'clock. Darren took a short break and drank a lot of water. "Darren." "Yes, why mom?" Darren turned around, facing Helena who was smiling brightly at him, as bright as the sun that had just risen. "Look at the money we made; we made twice as much today as we did yesterday." "Really?" "Mom didn't lie to you." "Thank goodness, I'm glad to hear that; it's thanks to Mom who always works hard. God of fire bless Mom."Helena laughed softly as she approached her son, gently squeezing Darren's shoulder. "Not only Mom, but you also contributed; it's our hard work Darren, you and mom, both of us." Darren then gave Mom a long hug. "Then, mom keeps the money, okay? I want to close the back door first, after this, we go straight home, right?""Yes, we go home, then rest at home, but mom seems to have to stop by somewhere first." Darren's brow furrowed as he watched Helena with focus. "Where's mom going?" "To the light clan territory." "What do you want to do there?" Helena immediately gave an answer. "A few days ago, I ordered two blackout-proof lamps there. I'm going to pick them up now." "What did you order for? None of the lights at home are broken. I thought so," Darren said. Now Darren's gaze that was thrown at Helena was full of confusion mixed with increasing curiosity. "Darren, we need to take precautions; what if there's another power outage at night like last time? Mom can't stand the dark; mom needs a blackout-proof lamp." "If that's the case, why do you have to go all the way to buy in the light clan area, in this market, there must be someone selling, there could even be many sellers; you can look for it here." "Yes, mom also knows about it, Darren." Helena laughed softly while waving her hand. Darren raised one eyebrow. "But?" "But you'd rather buy it at the place itself, I'm going there now." Letting out a long sigh, Darren nodded slowly. "Alright, whatever you want, but you have to spend your days on the road, right? Should I go with you?" "No!" Helena refused as she moved her head. "Mom can do it on her own, I don't want to trouble you dear, I'm still capable." "No hassle at all, I can even buy the lamp that mom asked for, you can just go home, then I go to buy the lamp that mom wants." "No dear, you've worked very hard today. Mom is still on her own, now you just go home, okay? Let mom close the shop, okay dear?" "Okay." Darren then left the shop, and when he got outside, Darren was surprised by something until he jumped in surprise."Finn, why are you here?" Instead of answering the question that came out of Darren's lips, Finn, Darren's friend from the Wind Clan, immediately dragged Darren from the front of the shop. "Hey, where are you taking me, Finn?" asked Darren again in between his steps that were being dragged forcibly by Finn."We have to go to Lake's house, right now!" Finn shouted. Darren was still surrounded by a fog of confusion. He stared at Finn uncomprehendingly. "Why do we have to go there? At this time of night?" It was already getting late, time was moving fast. Then, when Finn nodded with a suddenly serious look on his face, Darren concluded that something was going on, whatever it was, he just didn't know it yet. "The message bubble came to my house while I was planting fertilizer on the sunflower plants." "The message bubble came from Lake?" "That's right, Lake sent a message to me through the bubble. You must have gotten it too, right?" Darren quickly shook his head. "No, I didn't g
A transparent blue message bubble made of water was seen in front of Darren's bedroom window. After Yupo got there, Darren immediately picked up the bubble. Finn said, "I'm telling you, you've got it, Darren, Lake is our best friend, there's no way she's just sending me a message bubble." "Yeah, now I believe you." Darren then increased the heat of his hand, making the bubble burst just like that, revealing a piece of paper containing a message. To Darren: I have a little problem, please come to my house with Finn. I don't know what to do, sorry I'm just sending a message, I don't have time to go see you and Finn in person. Love: LakeDarren crumpled the paper in his hand, threw it to the ground, and then told Yupo to immediately proceed to the place where the water clan settled. The day had turned into night, but the streets were still quite busy. The Crimson Country did not have a curfew. Everyone was free to go and go, as they wished. The Crimson Country was almost in the s
"Your Majesty, are you sure of the decision you have made. I just want to make sure that His Majesty does not rush into actions and decisions. One small mistake could be fatal, I want Your Majesty to know about that." King Edward squinted, watching Gio. Gio was the royal advisor, always faithfully accompanying the king wherever he went. Feeling stared at so deeply by the King, Gio bowed his head, the corner of his lips twitching. "I beg your majesty to think over the plan once more." "Gio, I appreciate the advice and input you always give me. Indeed, I am very impressed and always helped by your presence by my side." Gio listened to the words spoken by the king. King Edward straightened up from the large white chair he was sitting on. A white crown with a pointed tip seemed to fit perfectly on his head. The king let out a long breath before his words resumed. "My mind is made up Gio, it is inviolable, now you may leave my room. I want to be alone." Although not satisfied with t
Darren and Cassie looked at each other with similar facial expressions, bulging eyes and half open mouths. Nail suddenly clapped his hands, making all pairs of eyes immediately look at the hairless youth. Nail's action was followed by the others. The master who saw his protégé so enthusiastically welcoming him was immediately taken aback, especially when he was greeted so enthusiastically with applause and admiring glances. Not that he had never felt this way, it was just that this time the master experienced another, more turbulent feeling. "Gaby, Domes, distribute the books to your friends, one child gets one book, and so do you two." Gaby nodded enthusiastically. "Ready master, carry it out immediately. Come on Domes!" Domes followed behind Gaby after giving the master a smile. Next, they began to distribute the books of materials as the master had said. "No need to be afraid of not getting one, everyone gets one, I've counted them," the master said from the front. "Ready mas
Everyone covered their ears due to the loud noise that came so suddenly. The sound of a trumpet was shouted loudly from a distance three times. When it was over, those on the field looked at each other. "The royal horn," murmured Master Jael. He coughed for a moment as he loosened his tie. "Children, please pay attention for a moment." To attract attention, Master Jael clapped his hands three times. Darren knew that the sound of the horn just now came from the palace of the full moon of darkness, the sound was familiar. If the palace had sounded the horn, it meant that important information was about to be released by King Edward, the leader of the Crimson Country. "You heard the trumpet sound yourselves, didn't you?" "We heard it, master!" replied all the students, in unison, their voices coming together to form a loud shout. "The horn signaled that King Edward, aka the Ice King, aka the King of Us All, was about to make an important announcement. Well, you must already know." Ma
How could he not be surprised? The master saw Nail trying to create a huge fireball without him? That's wrong, absolutely not allowed. This fire element was quite dangerous."Nail, what are you doing?" Master Jael ran forward, his eyes blazing brightly, and his jaw had already hardened. "Stop what you're doing!" He shouted again. Nail gasped in place, and immediately the fire in his hands stopped spreading, Nail stood still with his body facing the master. Darren saw the anger emanating from Master Jael. Things were about to get heated, he guessed. Darren turned to look at Nail, his friend was on the verge of trouble. "Master Jael looks angry," Cassie said, whispering beside Darren, her voice was low, but Darren could still hear Cassie's voice clearly. "That's right, I'm of one mind with you, Cassie." Darren's head nodded. Nail pressed his lips together, while Master Jael was still galloping towards the young man. Nail gulped his saliva roughly, knowing that he was entangled in t
"This is all because of you, Nail." Cassie sighed as she hugged her book tightly, her long legs continuing to stomp on the ground. Realizing that he had indeed made a mistake, Nail did not argue with or deny Cassie's words, the young man simply accepted them. Nail looked up, staring at the orange sky. It was already late afternoon, it would be night in a few minutes. "I was wrong, I'm sorry." Nail said solemnly while looking at Cassie. "It's only natural that you and the other friends would be angry with me about that." Cassie shook her head. "Yeah, it's good that you realize that, I'd be angry if you were being arrogant and uncaring." "I'm not, no wonder Master Jael is so angry." Darren chimed in, "And luckily, master Jael is still kind to you, my friend, just imagine if you were punished? Uh, it must not be very pleasant.""Um, actually, I had already surrendered at the front, because I was wrong, so I can't help but bear the mistakes I've made, but master Jael just let me sit
Darren had always helped his mother sell cakes, breads, biscuits, and light snacks at the shop, but he would come in the afternoon hours, while Helena always came early in the morning to make the various breads first, struggling on the grill. However, this time Darren didn't come during the day, since early in the morning he was already at the shop, preparing the merchandise he would sell. Darren had also told Yupo to stay at home and not follow him to the market. And as usual, the jumbo cat only responded with his loud voice as he nodded his big head, his round eyes blinking, while his tail wagged. Darren had already prepared food for his pet. Darren had just set down the tray, smiling down at the still-hot cake that had just come off the grill a few seconds ago. Darren needed to cool them down first before he put them in the plastic. As the morning approached nine o'clock, Darren and his mother were startled by a loud noise that filled the market. The sound of the royal horn was h
