Terrorist hideout

They arrived at their previous base and greeted back their instructors. Their instructors didn't say much although they're originally just wanted to motivate those youngins. Base officers led them back into their barrack and they just followed these officers.

Regas: "Perhaps It's time to increase their training level. What do you think?"

Rolf: "Well, the sooner the better I guess. Their mission counts will start to increase sooner or later anyway. I'd rather give them a drill to remember than a bitter memory to carry for the whole of their lives."

Ethan and other recruits spent almost two months training under the revised training plan. They got a lot of growth compared to the other recruits who haven't done their first mission yet. It's especially more effective for those who were fighting the enemy before. Ethan sat down after he did his routine and checked his status growth which he hadn't even checked for a while.

Ethan: *I become a little better somehow after the last skirmish. I think it's gonna help me in the next one.*

He remembered that Regas said they'll have more missions than before. Last month another recruit's squad are sent to their first mission. This month the next wave already came back from the battlefield as well. Unexpectedly, both of those two squads also lost some people in the process. He couldn't tell how bad their situation was but he knew it must be bad enough as what he went through.

Oscar got fully healed after some days of rest. It didn't go well with Erica as well as Nyde. Both of them has to wait for a longer time before they can fully recover their body. They're still doing rehabilitation at the moment to regain their sense after getting bedridden for a whole month.

Regas: "First expedition recruits, come to hall right now. I repeat..."

Ethan: *Their timing is just...*

He went out of the shower area and dashed away into his room. He hurriedly changed clothes then he moved into the hall. He is the only one who just arrived there which made other recruits take a look at him.

Regas: "This time you'll have to do a proper mission, unlike your previous one. Failure isn't an option on this mission. Check your mission detail on your system."

[Terrorist extermination]

Description:

Terrorists attacked the North West area repeatedly in the past several months. Our Intel found some evidence of their location on Kevlorg, the northernmost town in the West district. Even though the terrorist didn't take any casualties, their disruptive behavior caused a state of unrest to normal civilians in the town.

Objective:

Capture or kill the enemy on the spot to cease the civilians' unrest.

Ethan and other recruits looked surprised at the mission description. They didn't expect that they'll get a confrontation mission like this. Amon's expression looked mixed while Ethan looked as calm as he usually is.

Rolf and Regas watched their expressions closely but they could only find two-person who looked calm, Ethan and Ye Rin. They're kinda impressed with how collected they're despite how harsh their experience was on their first mission. It clearly showed how good their confidence is in their skill and judgment. That's exactly is the emotional quality they've been looking for so far in this training camp.

Rolf: "Further explanation will be explained by Sgt. Filipp Grigorev is your chief in command on this mission. Sgt. Grigorev, please make your way to the podium and start their mission rundown."

Sgt. Grigorev: "Thanks, instructor. This mission will take place in South East of Kevlorg which is a civil residence area so we have to end it swiftly with no fallen victim if possible. We won't go in attacking them as soon as we arrived there. We'll quarantine the operation area from residents. I sent them an official police statement which told them to evacuate immediately. Some of them may be reluctant and that's our duty to help them move out while staying undercover. Refrain yourself from flashing your badge when you did it."

All recruits just acknowledged their superior command then moved into the hangar as Sgt. Grigorev told them to. They didn't get any other information so they assumed he'll explain it later after they did the evacuation.

[Kevlorg, South East Residence]

Those recruits are dropped in four different spots using two different trucks to disperse them so they can evacuate more people in less time. They brought those trucks away to avoid any evidence that they were dropping military units there. Those superiors then drove some cars they parked near the hiding spot which they prepared beforehand when they collected information about the terrorist.

Sgt. Grigorev: "Namureem Karam also known as Desert Light's group leader. What are they doing here?"

Sgt. Lambert: "We'll know if we manage to capture them alive. It's gonna be hard but you never know, isn't it?"

Sgt. Grigorev: "Let's hope for the best and watch these newbs doing their job for now."

Ethan and the others looked back at each other. They have no idea why their superior gave them no instruction but now they have to make their own decision. This time he didn't get dropped with Oscar who is his previous teammate in the same location but he didn't feel bad or anything. He observed the Team One members who got dropped on the same spot as him.

Ethan: "Yo, Amon, didn't you try to take a lead before? Why don't you volunteer yourself again?"

He pointed it out not because he wanted to provoke Amon but to avoid the duty itself.

Amon: "Last time I screwed up badly and I don't think I have what it takes to lead a team again."

Ethan: "Just put in your mind to avoid playing hero or flashing your badge and you'll be alright. How about taking it as an opportunity to redeem your failure as a commander?"

Amon: "Alright, I'll do my best."

Ye Rin: "Don't mess up again."

She put gun signs with her hand on his head and shot his head with it.

Amon: "Relax. I won't try something flashy again, okay."

Herminio: "What's your plan?"

Amon: "We just need to ask them to move out, isn't it? Why do I have to make a complicated plan for that?"

Ethan: "Let's just split up and evacuate as much as we can and meet up here again after everything is done."

Gedeon: "How about we split our working area based on house block? Fortunately, it has 5 blocks which are the same as our team member counts."

Ye Rin: "I'm convinced by that. It doesn't really matter anyway. Shall we start now?"

Amon: "Alright, let's start our evacuation mission."

Ethan walked alone into block E which is located on the southernmost of the north side of the residence area. He took a look at every house he passed by but so far they're empty. He did practically nothing because he couldn't find anyone until the last house of this block. Ethan could see the owner when he was walking here through the side window of the house. He moved into the door and then he rang the door. The owner went out to meet Ethan who had been standing in front of his door for some minutes after his doorbell rang.

Owner: "What's your purpose here? If you try to sell me something again, you better forget it."

Ethan: "I'm sorry, Sir, you completely get the wrong idea. I'm a representative of FDI* and I think our department have sent you the mail to move out immediately. Haven't you received any FDI mail in your e-mail?"

[A/N: FDI stands for Federation of Defense and Intelligent"]

Owner: "So that e-mail was real? I thought It was just a fake one. No wonder my neighbors started to move out some days ago without saying goodbye at all."

Ethan: "I'm terribly sorry but you have to move as soon as possible, Sir. You may endanger yourself if you move too late, Sir."

Owner: "Are you threatening me?"

Ethan: "Not at all, Sir. It's just dangerous to be here. I heard there are a few terrorist activities around this hood. That's why we issued the evacuation order and I hope you understand about it as well. It's for your own safety, Sir."

Owner: "I'll think about it."

When the guy was just about to turn, Ethan chopped the back of his nape. He fell helplessly on the floor without any consciousness. Ethan withdrew his gun and entered his house since he felt suspicious of the guy who rejected FDI's order. He dashed behind the couch and took cover there and took a look around the house behind the couch. He could see the bathroom door on the left side is widely opened then a locked door and what seemed to be the kitchen right in the opposite direction. He took a look into the bedroom but he could only see an operational PC which was most likely what he used before when he saw him from the side windows.

Ethan: *Let's check the bathroom first.*

He crawled through the side of the sofa but suddenly he heard a window broken by someone who jumped out of the window in the back of the house. He ran as fast as he could to catch this runaway guy.
