"You almost stepped out of the hex, Maximus! He was just trying to annoy you and you stupidly almost fell for it." Mira scolded Maximus as they went back inside.

"I wasn't going to step out," Maximus claimed.

"Yes, you were." Mira fired at him.

"Ok maybe I was, maybe I was going to give him what he's asking for," Maximus admitted.

"Listen to me, Max," Mira said and held his face, "we have to be smart about this. Now's not the time to do something foolish. We will get justice for all our packs, but we need to be patient. Can you be patient?" Mira asked, looking deeply into his golden eyes.

"Yes, I can," Maximus replied and pulled away from her hold and went to his room.

Everyone else went on with getting themselves settled into the house while Maximus sat in his room, feeling so much rage that he could barely contain.

He got up, walked over to his window and looked outside at the exact spot on where Primo was standing just a few minutes ago. Then, he remembered his words.

They all took seats in the kitchen and began a conversation."So, what exactly happened last night?" Jess inquired."What happened is that we had our asses handed to us by three Firehounds," Leon said angrily. It was clear that he was starting to feel like they wouldn't be able to defeat The Mudders because they could barely hold their own against the Fire-hound brothers. He was beginning to doubt their ability to end the war by themselves because Primo had too much power and too many powerful beings working for him."They were so devastating. Garrick used to tell me stories about Firehounds but I never thought they would be so powerful. The only reason we're still alive is that we were lucky." Michael said solemnly."We need more wolves but the stupid compass hasn't moved in days," Leon said frustrat

"Marcus! I would say it's nice to see you again but that would be lying. How has business been here in the nightlife?" But, my children and I cannot help but wonder why the Great Cornelius Primo has graced us with his presence when all this time, you had ignored us almost to the point of obscurity." Marcus asked suspiciously, staring at Primo with his deep red eyes.Primo had contacted Marcus, one of the strongest vampire lords in this part of the world, and demanded an audience with him at a location of his choice, to make him more comfortable. Vampires had long since feared werewolves because of their cursed bite that destroys their immortality and only a few still did business together. So, Marcus had invited him to his nightclub where they could speak almost as equals."I am here because I need your assistance for a delicate matter. As
