"Students! I know you're all eager to begin the holidays so I'll keep this short." The principal said on the PA system.
"The year has been long, and we've all had our ups and downs but I'm glad to see how it all turned. The Brimwood Supernovas, our senior soccer team lifted the state championship title just a few months back. Timothy Sherwood represented Brimwood in the Inter-State School spelling bee and brought back home the gold. Mr and Mrs Goldberg, in their generosity, solely funded the availability of the new cafeteria menu, providing the students and faculty with healthier and more delicious meals and the one accomplishment I'm most proud of, the remodeling of the teacher's restroom. With all that being said, it has indeed been a very productive school year and I'm so sad to see it come to an end. See you all in the summer. This is Principal Bradley, wishing you all a very merry Christmas."With the announcements over, the entire student body burst out of their classes in celebration of the closing of the school and the start of the holidays. Everyone was exchanging hugs, kissing and saying goodbye and wishing themselves a merry Christmas.Samson came out of his classroom and spotted Nelly. They were both excited that school was finally over for the year."Nelly my man, can you believe it? We're finally free of this hellhole." Samson said to him."Thank goodness man. High school sucks. Let's find the guys and get to that party." Nelly said excitedly."Tone it down man. We don't want people to know about our little get-together otherwise they'd crash it and turn it into a huge rager." Samson warned."And we don't want a huge rager?" Nelly asked sarcastically."Well, we do but Jenny's parents don't so unless she's cool with it, let's keep it to ourselves.""Keep what to ourselves?""Oh my God! Peace! You gotta stop sneaking up on people like that?" Nelly said with his hand on his chest. "Where did you even come from?""Doesn't matter. I gotta go anyway. See you guys later." Peace said and began walking away."Where are you going? What about the thing at Jennifer's place?" Samson asked her."I'll be there later. I gotta go pick up my sisters from school. And don't you have to go pick up Jamie?" Peace reminded him."Oh shit, you're right. I totally almost forgot." Samson remembered and began to leave as well."Well, I guess I gotta go home too. I promised my mom I'd check up on my Pops after school. But I'm definitely not missing that party." Nelly said and they all left to do what they had to do.Meanwhile, Darryl and Jennifer were making out in the girl's bathroom. It was a good thing that the bathrooms didn't have beds otherwise they'd be naked on it."We really need to go before someone walks in here," Darryl said and continued kissing her."No one's coming in here. Everyone's leaving as we speak." Jennifer said and continued kissing him."We also have to get ready for your party.""It's not a party. Just a little get-together with some friends and we can get everything we need on the way." Jennifer said and continued kissing him.LATER THAT NIGHT"Guys, where are you? Darryl and I have been waiting for you for hours." Jennifer wrote on the group chat."I'll be there soon. My mom just got back from her night job." - Nelly"My parents are having round two so I might be a while." - Peace"My mom's working the night shift at the clinic so I just need to find someone to babysit Jamie and I'll be on my way." - SamsonJennifer was starting to feel like her friends were planning to boycott her party and it made her quite upset."Everyone's dealing with their shit tonight of all nights." She complained to Darryl who was already there."They said they'll be here. It might just take a little while.""Yeah. You're probably right. I feel dirty so I'm going to go take a shower." She told him."Would you like some company?" Darryl tried his luck."Sorry babe but you're not that lucky...yet." She teased and went to take a shower. While she was bathing and getting ready, Darryl sat down comfortably and was watching TV when his eyes caught sight of Jennifer's purse. He stared at the purse for so long, almost like he was contemplating going through it. He looked around to make sure that she wasn't coming back into the room and he got up and began walking towards the purse. He was about to grab it when the doorbell rang suddenly and almost scared him out of his skin."Who is it, babe?" She asked from where she was."It's probably one of the guys," Darryl said aloud and went to open the door. It wasn't one of the guys but all of them."You all finally made it. Come on in!" Darryl welcomed them in."This place is so freaking far." Peace complained."It is but it's so worth it," Nelly said with a smile."So, what did you guys bring?" Darryl asked and rubbed his hands mischievously. Samson smiled and took off his backpack and opened it."Well," Samson began, "we pulled our money together and got a few of these." He said and brought out a paper bag filled with joints and pills."That's dope guys." Darryl was impressed."And what does our host, Miss Moneybags, have in store for us?" Peace asked."I'm glad you asked," Jennifer replied from behind. "Babe, would you do us the honour?""Of course," Darryl said and went to get a bag from the kitchen. He brought it back to the parlor and began to empty its contents."We've got four bottles of Vodka, Jell-O shots and the holy grail, pure Coke," Jennifer announced."Coke? Hold up, hold up, hold up. No one said anything about Coke! I mean, I'm okay with taking a few pills but isn't doing Coke a little too much?" Nelly said, unsure of the idea of doing cocaine."Anyone else scared of doing Coke? Peace?" Jennifer raised her brow at her."What are you calling me for?" Peace asked."Well, you're a rule-breaker, aren't you? Or do you only break fashion rules?" Jennifer took a swing at Peace's clothing choice."Load it up." Peace said in an attempt to prove a point. She had never done cocaine before but was willing to now. Jennifer poured a little on her hand and she sniffed it into her nostrils."How did that feel?" Samson asked."Really good." Peace replied and the party began. The kids partied hard throughout the night, drinking, dancing, smoking marijuana, doing shots, taking pills and sniffing Coke. The next morning, Peace woke up in one of the guest bedrooms naked. She had no idea how she got there or what happened to her clothes. She managed to stand up, still rattled from all the drugs she had taken and found her clothes on the floor. She got dressed and went into the bathroom to sprinkle some water on her face. As she did this, little flashes of last night's activities played in her mind. She could see herself kissing someone but couldn't tell who it was. There was suddenly a knock on the bathroom door."I'll be out in a minute." She shouted.Samson was in the kitchen brewing some hangover tea. He also looked out of it. Everyone else was lying on the floor of the parlor, barely conscious.Peace walked into the parlor and went to the kitchen to drink some water."Does anyone remember what happened last night?" She asked, still unsure about how she got naked."All I can remember is drinking and dancing but everything else remains a blur after the Coke," Darryl said from the couch."The Coke really did a number on you, didn't it?" Samson asked and laughed at him.Jennifer was now also awake. She sat up and put her hands on her head, trying to fight back a headache."Can I please have some of that tea, Sam?" She asked."Coming right up.""Guys? Where's Nel?" Jennifer asked after not noticing him."There he is, behind the couch!" Samson said after spotting him."Yo Nel! Get up and come get some tea so you can push back the hangover. We need to recover quickly so we can clean up this mess before my mom gets back." She told him but Nelly didn't answer."Nelly?" She called out again but still no answer."He's probably still wiped out. I'll wake him up." Darryl said and walked over to him."Yo, Nelly? Time to wake up." He said and turned Nelly over but he didn't seem to be breathing. Darryl checked his pulse and it was very weak."Guys, I think Nelly had an overdose," Darryl announced."What? Is he okay?" Peace asked worriedly."He's out. He's not responding and his pulse is weak.""What do we do?" Jennifer asked, very worriedly."We have to get him to a hospital." Peace said."Are you crazy? We can't do that. They'll know we were messing with cocaine and we could get arrested." Jennifer retorted and dismissed the suggestion."So what are we supposed to do, just leave him here to die?""He's not going to die," Samson said and went over to him. "I need you guys to get me some water and towels. I also need some smelling salts, lime juice and a pack of ice."They all ran off to get what Samson had asked for."You'll be alright buddy. You'll be just fine." Samson said to Nelly."Good morning guys. It's finally almost Christmas. Are you all excited?" - Samson asked on the group chat after logging in on the morning of Christmas Eve."Is this a rhetorical question?" - Peace"Yeah what the hell, Sam? Why would we be excited about Christmas? All our lives suck and there isn't really much to celebrate or be excited about." - Darryl"Woah! Didn't know you both felt that way. What about you Nel, you excited for Christmas, got any plans?" - Samson asked Nelly."Sure I'm excited. Tomorrow's gonna make it exactly 11 years since my Dad left me and my Mom. My Pops has been admitted into the hospital because his condition got worse. My Mom is never at home anymore because she's got to work twice as hard to pay his hospital bills and to top it off, I'm still feeling the effects of almost dying last week at Jennifer's cocaine party. So, yeah, I'm excited. Bring on Christmas, the season of bullshit." - Nelly"Sorry for asking." - Samson texted back."Hey don't blame my party
Samson and Nelly were the only ones awake while the others were still unconscious. Samson went to the door to try and get it open while Nelly watched over their friends. They were all breathing heavily and sweating in their sleep so Nelly used his jacket as a fan to cool them off. "I don't understand how this door got stuck and why it refuses to open!" Samson complained and kicked the door in anger. "Whatever's messing with us doesn't want us to leave this place," Nelly said to Sam from where he sat. "Nothing is messing with us, Nelly. I already told you that we were all just probably exposed to some sort of chemical that made us have those hallucinations." Samson said. "And what chemical would that be? Joker gas? This place is haunted and you know it." Nelly said loudly to Samson. "This place isn't haunted, Nelly," Sam replied. Nelly's behaviour was starting to get on his nerves. "Yes, it is. Think about it, Sam! The door is locked shut and you can't open it, our phones have ab
Peace opened up the horror book and on the first page, it wrote:"This is the life's tale of Kristokulos, the demon that haunts the spirit of Christmas in its anger of being separated from his own family on Christmas day. He infects your mind and uses the things you love as a weapon against you, showing you your deepest fears and bringing them to life."."Go on! Keep reading. We have to find out more about this thing and what it wants." Jennifer told Peace and she continued reading and flipped the cover to the next page."But Kristokulos wasn't always an angry demon. He was once an ordinary man who loved his family but his one moment of weakness and desperation condemned him for all eternity, making him the monster that he is today."THE STORY BEGINSOnce upon a time, in the days of old. There lived a hardworking woodcarver name, Kristopher. He had a wife named Nalia and two beautiful daughters and they were his entire world. Kristopher was not a wealthy man so he had to work really
A wise man once said that no matter how hard things get, how hopeless the situation is, how futile all your efforts seem, as long as you have hope in your heart, you can scale through every obstacle and overcome the greatest of setbacks. That is kind of what Christmas is all about. It's about scaling through the problems the year brought your way and celebrating your triumph at the end of it, knowing that life tried to knock you down but you stayed strong and got through it with the closest people in your life by your side. This is the true spirit of Christmas. But, unfortunately for Darryl, his year hadn't come to an end and he was still living through the horrors that came with it."Nelly? Nelly?" Darryl called out. He took out the flashlight and turned it on but the light was flickering on and off until it stayed off.A faceless figure lingered in the shadows watching him while he struggled with the flashlight. The figure had a mouth on its face but it had no eyes, nose, or ears.
Trapped in a haunted house, attacked by a hungry monster, stalked and tormented physically and mentally and now, a friendly spirit appears. It seemed too good to be true and the guys weren't so quick to trust the words of the spirit of Carl Worthington."How do we know that you're really here and not another figment of our imaginations?" Samson asked the spirit cautiously."Since you awoke Kristokulos, have you all ever had the same illusions at the same time?" Carl asked. The boys looked at each other in the realization that they hadn't. Whenever the monster attacked their minds, he did it individually and not all together."If you are indeed Carl Worthington, why are you here? Why aren't you in the spirit world or the afterlife or whatever?" Nelly asked."A good question! Let me explain." Carl said and began.Suddenly, the room transformed back to the way it was all those years ago. As Carl narrated the events of the past, he also provided visuals and the boys could see everything a
Darryl had been a victim of his father's occasional punches for four whole years. His mother died in the hospital, after fighting cancer for five years. Darryl and his dad became inseparable after her death. They did everything together, they shared everything and they spent a lot of time with each other. But, as all things must, they began to change as Darryl got older. He became more interested in spending time with his friends and being a rebel than spending time with his old man.Darryl was thirteen the first time his father ever hit him. He had come home late that night after going over to a friend's place to smoke weed. After he came home, his father was very upset that he was so late and became even more furious when he smelled the marijuana on his breath. His father scolded him heavily and Darryl was so high that he said some distasteful things which prompted his father to angrily strike him and beat him up.The next day, the neighbours noticed Darryl's injuries sustained from
The kids all stood frightened, listening to Carl as he told them who Mara Anjonu was and what her purpose was in this situation. "When Madame Constance cursed Kristopher, she wanted to make sure that the curse could never be broken by anyone. She was so insulted by Kristopher's rejection that she wanted to punish him for all eternity. So she did a terrible thing, something that all practitioners of witchcraft know is forbidden; She summoned a demon from the underworld." "Mara Anjonu?" Samson asked "Yes Master Samson, Mara Anjonu, the faceless demon. She's one of the most loyal servants of Lucifer. Mara Anjonu was summoned by Madame Constance to be a protector of the curse, to stand in the way of anyone who attempts to break it, and to steal their faces." "Steal our faces? Is that what she did to Peace?" Nelly asked. "Yes, Master Nelly. Mara Anjonu is also known as The Stealer Of Faces. She comes to the land of the living and steals faces from men, women and children altogether. S
"These are the weapons you were telling us about?" Darryl asked Carl in surprise."Yes, Master Darryl," Carl replied."But these are just knives, spears, axes and swords," Samson said and lifted one knife. He put down the flaming piece of wood because the torches were on and the fire slowly went out."Yes! These are some of the best weapons you'll ever find." Carl said."Oh, Carl! It seems you've been dead for so long you didn't know that weapons have advanced a whole lot since your time." Darryl said."Have they now?" Carl lifted a brow."Oh yeah, they have. But I guess we'll have to make do with these. At least they're better than a metal rod and some sticks." Darryl said."And they'll do a much better job in killing Kristokulos," Samson added. They packed up as many weapons as they needed and wrapped them up and were ready to return.Suddenly, one of the torches that hung on the wall went out, much to everyone's surprise, even Carl's and his magic was what kept the torches on."Carl
The next night, Cornelius Primo was ready to fly out to the gravesite that Gable’s men had found so he could get the most important piece of the puzzled for his plans to finally move forward. He had gotten dressed in his father’s cloak, an article of clothing that he had never worn since he killed his father. Gable came into his chambers, “Alpha, the chopper is ready,” He said. “Then, let’s get going,” Primo said. They both walked out of the house and onto the yard together. When they reached outside, five more men, including the pilot were already inside the spinning helicopter and they were going to accompany him just in case he needed some extra muscle. There was also a young woman in the helicopter with a bag over her head. Her hands and feet were tied up with ropes and she was also unconscious. “Is that the virgin?” Primo asked before stepping in. “That’s her,” Gable answered. Primo and Gable climbed in and the pilot hovered them off the ground and into the sky. They headed
Gable was in the underground section of the Mudders Estate and was supervising the final touches that were being made to the giant bunker deep within the soil. He had a grin on his face because he knew that it was almost time for the real plan to be kicked in motion. J came running up the stairs so he could give Gable some information about the progress of the dome. “Gable, I’ve got good news from the engineers,” J said to him. “And…” Gable asked. “It’s complete. As of now, the dome is officially complete,” J said with a proud smile on his face. “…which means that it’s time to have some real fun,” Gable said with a menacing smile. The Gemini wolf got out from the ground and went back up to the surface. He walked into the mansion so he could give the good news to his Alpha. He reached the Alpha’s chambers and walked into the room without even knocking. When he got in, he found Cornelius Primo inside his communication room filled with computers having a meeting with his high beta
PARIS A YEAR LATER “Au revoir, Jacqueline. Get home safe, alright?” A man said to his worker who had just left his bakery for the night. “Will do, Monsieur Henri. See you tomorrow,” She said as she walked away. It was late in the evening and a lot of businesses were closed. The streets were dark but thanks to the glow of the street lamps, there was enough light for Jacqueline to move around. She walked through the streets of Rue de Rivoli and she hummed to herself as she walked. As she was walking, she suddenly had this feeling that someone was following her. She turned to check but there was no one behind her. She felt maybe it was just her nerves for having left work so late tonight so she kept walking. Some distinct shadow suddenly ran past her from behind and she felt the wind. She gasped and turned around again but still, there was no one. Jacqueline was getting scared because she could feel that she was being stalked. The streets were empty and she was all alone so there w
Maximus found himself walking on an empty field and all he could see all around him was the green carpet grass. There was no one else and nothing else in sight, just the green.Nothing about where he was felt real but yet, he could feel the heat of the sun. He could feel the coolness of the breeze on his skin and he could smell the grassy aroma coming off the leaves. "Where am I?" He asked himself as he continued walking. Then, he spotted something just up ahead, something different about this place. He walked further until he saw it better. There was a section of the grass that was dried up and grey and it made a circle within all the green. Inside the circle, there was a tombstone on the ground and it had Allison's name written on it.Maximus saw her name and stopped walking. He stopped with his foot mere inches away from the grey grass. His eyes watered up and his brows flared together when he remembered his dead mate. He didn't want to be here because he was being reminded of som
"For so long, I have imagined this moment. I have played it out in my head what seeing you again would be like. I will admit that when I envisioned this moment, I was always scared of you. Even after I became a Witch, I was still afraid of just the thought of you because of how much you messed me up as a person. I have battled all sorts of things, all sorts of abominations that would leave even the strongest Witch emotionally scarred for life and I didn't feel a thing but with you, I would have nightmares and I would sometimes blink and in that quarter of a second of darkness, I would see your face and it would terrify me," Peace said to Constance."Aw, I left an impression on you," Constance said condescendingly, almost like she was making fun of Peace."You did," Peace admitted, "For so long, I tried to be the best Witch I could be just so I wouldn't end up like you. Everyone always raised their brows about me because I inherited your powers and they felt like I was doomed to go dow
The young vampire sat in a dark corner in Jorish's living room and was sobbing because she was so terrified by what was happening to her. She didn't want to believe that she was now a soulless blood-sucking monster but all the clues were pointing out that she was but she didn't want to accept it.The sound of her weeping started annoying Jorish who couldn't focus on the book she was reading. She started to rethink letting the girl out of the dungeon and played with the idea of putting her back but, for some reason she couldn't quite put her finger on, Jorish decided to converse with her instead. She closed her book and spun her chair around to face the vampire."You've been making that sound for almost twenty minutes now. Are you even shedding any tears?" Jorish asked her."I don't know why nothing's coming out," She said and rubbed her face but there were no tears even though she was really crying."Yeah, that's because vampires can't produce tears," Jorish said."I'm not a vampire,"
Maximus went to the lake around the mansion, to the same spot where he had kissed Allison for the first time after they imprinted. He sat by the lake and remembered that moment as one of the happiest he had ever felt and it made him even sadder that she was gone and he would never feel that way again.Whenever the mate of a werewolf died, he or she would have to get over their death mentally and emotionally before they would be able to mate again. If the werewolf isn't able to heal from the loss, they'll remain without an imprint for the rest of their lives, unable to find their mate to complete their existence. Maximus wasn't an ordinary werewolf; he was a True-born, True Alpha and he was strong not just physically but mentally as well. He knew he could get over Allison's death. All he needed was time but at this moment, it felt almost impossible to not feel the pain and the emptiness left by her absence. It hurt more than the injuries he had sustained at Primo's hands and all he co
With their tails behind their legs, the Saviours did the walk of shame after crossing through the hex and getting out of the car they had stolen from the concert. It was clear from the way they walked back to the mansion that they were defeated and it would take a while before they were back to full force because they had suffered a crushing defeat tonight.Jess and Aliyah were the first to go into the house. They turned around to see if Maximus wanted some company but he gestured at them to go and get some rest, signalling that he'd be fine. They did as he said and went upstairs to their room while Maximus kept walking and headed to the back of the house. Mira didn't think it was a good idea to leave Maximus alone at this time because she remembered how impulsive he could be. He hadn't been impulsive for a long time but the amount of loss they had suffered today could make him do something crazy so she decided to follow him to whatever part of the house he was going to.While she fol
PEACE'S POV...The amount of chaos and loss that occurred on this night was unlike anything I had ever witnessed. So many people turned while others died from the bites, their systems unable to handle the process of the change and their lives got altered forever because of one werewolf's delusion for power. Why did the vampires even do this? Why today of all days? So many things were out of order and it felt so unreal. I knew something was coming but I never once suspected that this could ever happen to the world on my watch. I never expected it to get to this point but it did and it came at a cost that I could have prevented but because of the Witcher's Law, I could only sit by and watch as the chaos ensued.Maximus Cullen, his Luna and his betas had suffered a crushing loss at the hands of Cornelius Primo and his Mudders and they weren't even able to stop his plans. They always knew their lives were in danger when they took it upon themselves to fight the Alpha Mudder but now, th
