Those words cause the whole room quiet for a moment. They are silent and think about one person who might kill Mr. Eugene.
“Cad, is it possible that Madam Theresa killed Mr. Eugene?”
"Brad, you should keep your mouth." Caden tapped his best friend's shoulder. "Madam Theresa is mean, but we can't take a conclusion too soon."
"That's true too, but .... "
A knocking sound comes from outside Bradley's room. He quickly opened the door and it is Madam Theresa.
"Madam, I have put all the groceries on the table downstairs."
“Bradley, you and Caden go downstairs and prepare dinner.”
"Yes, Madam."
A few minutes later, Madam Theresa's footsteps suddenly fade away. They quickly go downstairs and sees Madam Nigera in the kitchen. She is rinsing and also examining the rotten part of the vegetables.
“Madam, what we can do for you?” asks Bradley. “Madam Theresa told us to go here.”
“You can help me cut the vegetables.”
Bradley and Caden cut up some of the carrots and potatoes. They take a knife and potato peeler laid on the kitchen table. Everyone is so focused on doing the task. The atmosphere inside the room is so quiet.
“Bradley, Caden. Do you like soup?” Madam Nigera tries to break the silence.
“Yes, Madam we loved it," they said together.
Madam Nigera explained this recipe was made by her mother when she was a child. In the past, her mother used to cook this soup every day before she died.
"Such a beautiful childhood memory," she smiles then puts a few pieces of vegetables into the pot.
Nigera's face looks so different in the kitchen. Her smile makes Bradley surprised. He has never seen her smile happily when she is with Madam Theresa. However, Bradley brushes aside the doubts in his mind. He remembers what had happened earlier. Madam Nigera may be just seeking sympathy from them. A few minutes later, thunderous footsteps are heard from outside the room.
Caden looks outside and sees all the children and Madam Theresa have taken their seats. They quickly grabbed the cutlery and bring the food.
“What a delicious smell.” Madam Theresa smells the soup being. "This soup is made by Nigera, isn't it?"
“Yes, Madam,” said Bradley, and Caden nodded.
After all the food is done, Madam Theresa tells all the children to have dinner. While eating, she asks Bradley and Caden for taking a manners class.
"Madam, but we've taken that class." Caden quickly interrupted Madam Theresa.
"Yes, Madam. We also already know all that is being taught.”
"Who said you only take that class?" Madam Theresa raised her eyebrows sipping her soup. "Both of you already have experience. Of course, you can teach them already, right?"
Those words make them speechless, their faces looked tense when heard about it. Madam Theresa seems to have planned something bad for them. But, they don’t know what her motive is.
"Class will start tomorrow," said Madam Theresa, wiping her mouth with the white cloth that is on the table and walking away from them.
"Jeez!" Caden panicked and looked at Bradley.
Caden quickly finished her soup. He can no longer enjoy Madam Nigera's soup in peace. His mind is restless. However, Bradley doesn’t care too much about it.
"Brad, how are you so calm?" Caden pulls Bradley who seems still enjoying this soup.
"Cad, you're just disturbing my meal." Bradley glares at Caden. “At least let me enjoy this.”
“Yeah, sorry my mistake. But I'm not used to this kind of thing at all." Caden whispers something in Bradley's ear. "I have stage fright."
"Cad, calm down. “Bradley patted Cad's hand. "Woah Cad! What's wrong with your hand?" Bradley quickly let go of Caden's wet hand.
After dinner, the other children one by one left the room. Bradley and Caden are assigned to clean the dishes. Bradley sees the dozens of dishes and starts to complain.
"Argh! Why do we always clean all this!” Bradley stomps his feet while rinsing the dirty dishes in his hands. "How about the others?"
"Cad, they are not old enough. We as the oldest have to help them first,” Caden said while placing the dishes inside the brown basket. “You know, all of that kids are her income right?”
“Yes, that’s a good statement. But they can if they want to learn, right?” Bradley said in a slightly raised tone. "Mr. Eugene taught us, we must learn independently since childhood. Do you remember about it?"
Caden nods and sighs hearing all of that. The situation in this home now seems to have changed since Madam Theresa's arrival. She seems to prefer the other children compared to them. Bianca also heard information that Madam Theresa doing this for a purpose. Maybe it is because of the funds from the donors.
"Argh, I think Madam Theresa is very good at hiding her true self," Bradley said, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"I don't know, but people see her differently. They think she is just like a hero." Caden sighs. "Especially the children of the orphanage now."
"Ah, never mind. We should focus on our teaching materials for those children.” Bradley turned off the water faucet and takes clothes nearby to dry his hands.
The two of them immediately rush to Caden's room and start arranging the material that will be used for tomorrow. Caden picks up the yellow notebook that is under his bed. His hands quickly flip through each page of his notes.
"Hey look! This is material about that." Caden pats Bradley's shoulder. "Hey, you don't sleep right?"
Caden feels strange Bradley doesn’t respond to his words. His head keeps down without moving an inch. This time, Caden pats Bradley on the shoulder quite hard.
"Hey, Brad!" Caden screams right into her ear, making Bradley suddenly wake up.
"Hah? What is it?" said Bradley with 5-watt eyes and back to sleep again.
Caden shakes her head and sighs. He is furious at Bradley's attitude because he doesn’t hear his explanation at all. But, he realized something. What have they done today is fatiguing.
"Well, I guess we should take a break for a while," Caden said with a yawn.

The sound of birds chirping from outside wakes up Anastasia. “Geez, I overslept last night.”
He sees Caden still sleeping soundly, clutching his book so tight. Several minutes later, someone knocks on the door from outside. Bradley immediately walks to approach the door and slowly opens it.
Two orphanage children are carrying a box that is quite large. They give the box to Caden and walk away. He closed the bedroom door and walks with a question of surroundings in his mind.
"Strange, who give this?"

Bradley opens the brown box. It’s wrapped perfectly with a red ribbon on it. He scrapes his head, walking toward Caden. He tries to wake up him and asks about this."Hey, Caden wakes up.” Bradley gently pats Caden’s cheek. “This box is for you.” is a delivery for you.""What's wrong Brad?" Caden slowly opens his eyes and sees Bradley's blue eyes. "Wait, I don’t order anything at all." Caden furrowed his eyebrows when he heard Bradley's words."So, this is not your belonging?” Bradley furrows his eyebrow. "So, who owns this item?”"I don't know either, but I feel like we should take a look inside of it."Bradley slowly opens it and sees two bright blue shirts folded neatly inside. Caden's eyes lit up. His smile widely. He likes the color of the shirt, which makes him bounce up and down. He quickly takes one of the clothes."Brad, this shirt is very nice!" He squealed happily. "I wonder who gives this?"“Cad, I don't know either,” said Bradley, shrugging his shoulders. "Wait a minute, l
Bradley's face is instantly pale, cold sweat also flows non-stop on his face. His hands tremble every time Madam Theresa's footsteps are getting closer and closer to him. He bites his lips, his mind’s blank, and his body refuses to move.“What should I do?”The sound of footsteps starts louder and clearer. He doesn’t have any choice and it’s too late to move now. He can only surrender if Madam Theresa finally finds him. Suddenly, Madam Theresa's footsteps stopped. Someone called her name and she walks back away from Bradley's position."Heavens! She almost got me."Bradley takes a deep breath and tries not to make a sound. Madam Theresa’s footsteps sound disappears. He moves as fast to his room."Gosh!" BradleySomeone knocking on the door. Bradley immediately runs to the door and opens it. A fat woman with black hair of hers stands in front of her."Madam Nigera, what's wrong?" Bradley furrows his brow.“Madam Theresa is calling for you.” Nigera walks away from Bradley. She suddenly
He explains life in an orphanage is very boring, it's like a bird in a cage. But luckily, He doesn’t alone in dealing with it. He has a good friend who is always there for him. “Wow, you are so lucky someone like that.” Gideon smiles hearing Bradley's explanation. His face is gloomy a few minutes later. "But for me, I am just … alone ….” “Hey, don’t be so sad. I'm sure you will have friends. Maybe you haven't gotten it yet." A few minutes later, the sound of a dog barking is getting louder and louder. Bradley turns around and sees Madam Theresa's dog running toward him. “Hey Wolfy, calm down,” Bradley says with a laugh. "You must be very happy after playing for a long time, right?" "Is that your dog?" Gideon asked curiously. "Oh, no. I just only assign to take the dog outside to play." “Wow, I like dogs too. Can I?” "Oh yeah. But, Wolfy can be very fierce to strangers," Bradley gives warning to him. "First time, Wolfy is very uncontrollable and maybe he will bite you." Howeve
A few minutes later, the sound of thunderous footsteps is heard. It turns out Madam Nigera and other orphans. Her face is instantly stiff looking at the little girl. Her pupils dilated when she sees the kid’s condition."Jacqueline! Calm down, you’re safe now." Madam Nigera immediately put her arm around the kid and hugged her. " Goodness! What is going on here?" she said frantically.Caden shrugs his shoulders. “I don’t know. We just got here too and suddenly this little girl just like this.”"We should take this child to my room," she said while holding the child. "Caden, I need you to take the other kids back to their room.""Yes, Madam." Caden quickly walks over with the other children.“Bradley, you go with me. I feel like I'll need a little help."They speed up their footsteps towards Nigera's room. Madam Nigera’s face looks so tense. She doesn’t say a word at all and focuses on carrying Jacqueline to her room. She lays the child on the sofa and walks out of nowhere"Jacqueline,
Something appears in front of him. It has a big size for animals. It’s black and has thick fur. Red eyes with sharp canines slowly dripping saliva. Its head turns around followed by a weird sound.“What is that?”Bradley hits his head repeatedly. It looks very strange and not from this place. He thinks it’s just his imagination. However, several times he looks, it is still the same. The monster is real and suddenly goes nowhere.“Where does the monster go?”Bradley keeps looking through the gaps in the boxes. His heart continues to beat rapidly. He does not see the existence of the creature now. However, someone from behind shut his mouth. His eyes widen. He slowly turns her head. Unfortunately, it is just a child. She looks the same age as Jacqueline. Bradley sees there is a scratch-like scar on her face. Bradley is curious about the little girl and asks what she is doing here alone. She explains that the creature has been looking for her."Wait for a minute. You're Dorothy, aren't
Madam Nigera ignores Bradley's words and focuses on Bradley's feet without even blinking. Bradley feels strange seeing Madam Nigera expression, He is really curious about it and immediately looks at his wounds by himself. "Ah!" His face is instantly stiff with his hands are shaking non-stop. A wound engraves on Bradley's skin so clearly. It looks like the claws of a beast or something. A few minutes later, a blackish-purple liquid slowly leaks out from the scar. “Bradley, you need to calm down.” Madam Nigera holds Bradley's shoulder to calm her. "It's just a wound. You don't have to worry about it." "Madam, but what is that?" Bradley asked as he continues watching the purple liquid that keeps pouring out non-stop. "I've never seen this strange liquid at all," he said in a trembling voice. "Brad, calm down. I will immediately find a way to heal this wound.” Madam Nigera takes out a bandage inside the storage box. “This bandage at least can reduce this wound.” His mind is getting
His hands trembled for a moment, but he tries to calm down and continues to unwrap the remaining bandages. However, Bradley doesn’t feel anything strange about his wound.“Well, I feel like everything is fine, or maybe it is just my feelings.”He sighs and puts back the bandage on his wound. His mind recently keeps thinking about the fluid that came out of his wound.“Never mind. Maybe, I’m thinking too much about weird things. It makes me paranoid for a while.”Bradley shakes his head repeatedly and tries to ignore all of it and get back to work. After a while, everything is much better than before. Dust on the floor is gone, the handrail is shiny, and the windows are clean now. At least he can breathe a sigh of relief now."Fortunately, we finish this prematurely," she said glancing at the only clock on the wall in the house. “Ok, kids now we just ….”The sound of the door is heard, followed by several steps of people entering. Bianca and Madam Nigera finished buying the necessary g
Her words such as a knife, it goes straight to Bradley’s heart without hesitation. She doesn’t care about Bradley feeling at all. She always said bad things about him, making Bradley sometimes discouraged for a moment. Bradley only is patient and swallows the insult. He doesn't want to ruin this precious moment. Mrs. Zwalinski shakes her head. She is furious hearing Madam Theresa’s words seem gone too far. She feels Anastasia is a good child.“Madam Theresa, I feel you.…”"Madam Theresa, we'd like to invite you to our circus carnival." Mr. Zwalinski suddenly interrupts his wife. "We hope you and the orphanage children are willing to attend it." He immediately holds Mrs. Zwalinski's hand. “Is it right, dear?”Mrs. Zwalinski looks at her husband's face questioningly. She is surprised about what her husband said. Mr. Zwalinski pats the surface of his wife's hand and leaned closer."Honey, I don't want to make a mess. Markus will sad if we ruin this,” he said whispering in a small voice a
