CHAPTER 16

Count Bryon is sitting in front of his eldest daughter. The way she sits is too formal. Her back is straight, her shoulders are not slouching and her hands are gracefully placed on her lap. She looks like a noble lady whose etiquette is engraved in her bones.

The Count doesn't want to question his daughter. But he cannot think of a reason why Charlotte knows these noble etiquettes when she lived as a commoner in the past. Charlotte was not offended when her father asked hesitantly about it. Instead, Charlotte told him that she was fortunate to meet an old noble lady who was a regular customer in their bookstore and decided to teach her some etiquette because she grew fond of her.

Count Byron did not question her again about it. Instead, he feels guilty for his daughter.
