CHAPTER 22

When the Countess realized what she had done, Charlotte was already looking at her as if nothing happened. She did not even change the expression on her face too. Countess Rosalyn will think the slap she did is not painful if not for the claw marks that were left on Charlotte's cheek. The Countess gasps in surprise to see that it is also bleeding.

"C-Charlotte, please let me explain. It is not my intention—"

"Are we done now?" Charlotte asked. "Can I now go back to my room?"

"B-But your wounds—"

"You don't have to be concerned about it."

The Countess's hand that is about to hold her daughter has stopped because of those words. She nervously looks at Charlotte who has a cold expression on her face. The vigor she had while interrogating her eldest daughter has completely vanished. It is now replaced with nervousness and worry for Charlotte.

The scratch that she did on Charlotte's cheek is probably deeper than expected. It is because Countess Rosalyn can see her blood is slowly dripping
