Emilia

Emilia was inside the old broken down house. The inside of the house was a stark contrast to the outside however.

The floors were swept, not a single cobweb was in sight, and Emilia was sat down on the floor in a certain room, with a book on the floor in front of her.

She still hadn't learnt how to read all the characters in the book, the chief hadn't taught her all there was to know yet, but the little she understood kept her entertained.

Not to mention, the book had an abundance of pictures.

She still didn't know why the chief had taken her from the hands of Mrs Catherine, but she was grateful.

All the time she'd been given had given her wounds time to heal, and she'd been able to learn a lot in a relatively short time.

No one except the chief had been visiting her, and he'd bring food, books, and a few other things for her from time to time.

She was strictly warned never to leave, and she'd listened to that rule completely, never trying to even open the door to see if it worked.
