Chapter 28

~~ Rhegalius Knyght ~~

“Oof...”

Ian exhaled slowly as he remained still on a spot, his head dropped. The subtle wind made some strands of his long white hair with silvery tints, flutter loosely behind him. He was about to try something he had never done before.

He was going to use his blessing.

The school premises was completely devoid of people. Ian was the only one standing there. He had decided to use his spatial blessing to move himself home, and save the money for a carriage. He knew his mum had come to the city to deliver some clothes, and that she'd pick his little sister, Annabelle, home.

Learning from Khelian's memories, he had the ability to shift himself through space. This allowed him to vanish at one point in space, and appear at another point. He could relate it to teleportation from the sci-fi movies he had watched.

His head still dropped, he glanced at his hands one more time, before dropping them and closing his eyes. He folded his hands to fists as h

Chapter 29 ~~ Nature vs Space ~~ The next day, Ian dropped Annabelle off at her school and he proceeded to his own school. He was wearing a plain blue vest with long sleeves, a pair of black trousers and leather croc-shoes. As he got into the school compound, he spotted the blonde Karen walking towards the school building. He held the leather strap of his cross-bag and ran after her. He soon caught up with her and stopped in front of her, preventing her from moving forward. “Hey, Karen...” Ian greeted with a wide, nervous smile. Karen sized him up and scoffed, “You're in my way.” “Come on. Are you still ma--” he wanted to say mad, but didn't know if Dhemistarians understood, that it also meant angry, so he changed the word. “...Are you still angry at me because of yesterday?” She rolled her eyes and walked past him. He turned and pulled her arm back, turning her body to face him. “Heh...” she scoffed, dragging her arms away from his grip. “You're bold. I'll give you that.” Ian

Chapter 30 ~~ Feud ~~ Bam! It was dark and painful... Ian staggered back and grunted. His head throbbed from the pain so much, it was as though his heart had been transferred to his forehead. His closed eyelids were red and veins were sprouted on them. He held his face in pain as he tried to open his eyes. He did so slowly, but they stung, so he sharply shut them back. He exhaled and attempted it again, slowly and carefully. He successfully opened his eyes and dropped his hand, staring ahead. A teenage boy with spiky blue hair was standing in front of him, patting his right palm with a wooden bat held by his left hand. His wide, mischievous smile was taunting and irritating to Ian. He figured the boy must have hit his face with the bat. Two other boys were standing behind the boy, their hairs spiked also, but green and red respectively. They were also holding wooden bats. He immediately recognized them as the Pyro brothers, the only triplets in the school and also his classmate

Chapter 31 ~~ Nightfall ~~ Knock! Knock! His knuckles gave two consecutive knocks on the thick wooden door. “Coming!” He heard his little sister's voice, yell from within the house. He had managed to limp his way from the school to the road and struggled to wait for a carriage. A carriage soon arrived and he boarded it. He was lucky not to have spent his transport money, since he initially planned to always translocate himself home. He sighed, his head facing the floor. His long white hair was scattered over his face. Slowly, and with an increased heartbeat, he raised his left hand from his stomach. He exhaled in relief, seeing that the bleeding had stopped, and the wound had almost closed up. It was all thanks to the Dhemistarian metabolism, which was far greater than a human's metabolism. Meaning, Dhemistarians healed faster. But that didn't clean the dried blood stain on his left hand that he used to lay pressure on the wound. He instinctively hid his blood stained hand in t

  • Whitefield: Shattered Realms   Juxtaposition

Chapter 32 ~~ Juxtaposition ~~ The white linen curtains of the wide window fluttered subtly as the early morning wind, blew in its calmness. The once dark room soon brightened as the two suns rose to the sky, shinning dimly through the curtained window, dispelling a warm ambience into the room. Ian's eyelids twitched as the finger rays of the suns peered at them, through the long strands of his white hair, scattered over his face. He still laid there for minutes till he felt really uncomfortable with the poking light. With a grunt, he turned over to the side of the bed, away from the window. “Ugh...” He grunted again as he could no longer dive into sleep. He wanted to sleep for a few more minutes, but his brain and body were fully awake. He groaned frustratingly, sluggishly raising himself up. His eyes were still closed as he sat there for seconds, his head drifting left and right. He soon yawned and pouted his lips, blowing the strands of hair away from his face, and finally ope

Moving at a speed so great, his skin fluttered like paper, threatening to rip away from his bones anytime soon. His long silver hair stood straight and taut over his head, the strands poking at their pores as though they were about to pulled out by a hand that held them together. Ian was plummeting through a rainbow tunnel, each of the seven colors flitting across his eyes in seconds. He had been falling through the tunnel ever since a mysterious hand pulled him into the portal. Not that he could think straight through the rapid fall, but he felt he had been in here for over an hour, and counting. Another thirty — Ian — minutes had passed, when a ball of light appeared below him. His eyes managed to close as the ball swallowed him up. For a second or two, Ian felt calm and still. But then, he opened his eyes, his eyelashes fluttering as the wind blew against them. “What the...?

  • Whitefield: Shattered Realms   The Upper Realm; Kandar

Chapter 34 ~~ The Upper Realm; Kandar ~~ Thoom! The blue scaled dragon dropped from the clouds like a missile, breaking a sound barrier with ease. Ian and Jeanne had to hold tight to the blue scales on its back, else they'd fall off. Captain Agner on the other hand, was rather relaxed and stoic. Whoosh! The dragon halted in midair, flapping its mighty wings as it hovered close to a big city. Ian heaved a sigh of relief as the dragon stopped. He noticed Jeanne looking down from her side, so he crawled over to her and took a fearful peak down. “Whoa,” he muttered with dilated eyes. The structure and architecture of the city reminded him of the bustling New York city on Earth. Well, only the buildings were the same. There were no tarred roads, cars or electricity here. But the neat little vegetation that grew between houses and around the city, made the view refreshing. Not to talk of the creatures flying around the city. Creatures Ian had only read about in mythological books. H

Chapter 35 ~~ Revelation ~~ Whizz! Whizz! The circular golden platforms cut through the air like launched discs. There were five of them; one to Ian, Jeanne, Captain Agner, a palace guard, and queen Leora, respectively. However, that of the queen moved slow and calm. The round platforms came to a progressive halt, hovering over what looked like a water fountain; it was dry though, but was encased in a dome of twinkling sparkles. Slowly, the platforms descended and landed on the interlocked ground. They all alighted simultaneously and approached the dry fountain. Ian had his eyes half opened as he walked closer to the twinkling fountain, hoping to see what was causing the phenomenon. His squinted eyes dilated once he saw a lot of tiny creatures that looked human, with sparkling wings, flying around the fountain in a continuous fashion. It was the twinkling blurs of their sparkling wings, and the speed at which they flew, that made it seem like a fixed dome was erected around the dr

Chapter 36 ~~ Battle Front ~~ At the outskirts of Kandar, near the edge of the Upper realm... Thick Wisps of black smoke rose to the once colorful clouds, forming a layer of dark clouds beneath them. Beneath the pseudo-clouds was a barren land of nothing but red cracks running across it and dead, fried bodies. Magickal beams whizzed here and there, including large fireballs and steaming red beams. The army of Faes and horde of Brobdingnagians, swarmed into each other in an all out war. Boom! Another enormous fireball was fired and struck the side of the Faes, exploding widely and burning those caught up in it, to crisps. This particular horde of Brobdingnagians comprised of both Goblins and Orcs. The orcs had dark green skin and were at least ten feet tall, their muscles taut. They also had long tusks curving out of their mouth. Like the viscous goblins, the orcs were only clad in haggard leather shorts; the rest of their green hard bodies were left bare. They wielded huge club

Epilogue… His lush golden hair swayed gently to the whispering wind as he enjoyed a hot cup of tea. He had his legs crossed, seated on a boulder by the crackling fire place. He picked the cup from its saucer and was about to take a sip when the entirety of “that” metaphysical plane shook to its cognitive foundations. The wind howled to the furious distortion in space. The cup in his hand cracked and shattered to pieces, the liquid drying up instantly. As though the space before him was an invisible wall, it rippled as a hand punctured it. A second hand came through and simultaneously, they pulled space apart like a soft piece of fabric. It was the silver-white haired, crystal-blue eyed Ian Whitefield, that walked out of the rip in space. It mended itself as he completely walked through. His crystal-blue eyes were a bit pale under the umbrella of his arched eyelashes. His face was stern as he stood on a spot, glaring at his father, Ghordon. Ghordon dusted off the ceramic crumbs on

    Wistfulness

Chapter 125 ~ Wistfulness ~ Ian, Amelia and Raymond, along with their two captives, entered the realm of Knyghts. They met the realm in ruins. Most of the realm had been decimated and leveled to ash and soot. The atmosphere was damp; the clouds were dark grey and ash dripped down the sky like a snow shower. Though, at the moment of their entry, the realm was quite serene, it was pretty much obvious that a war had broken out — a fierce one. The soaring Saphira spotted Rhegalius Claive and landed beside him. The trio alighted the saddle and they had a long talk. The Knyght told them how Dhamon instigated an invasion to the Upper realm but Knyghtstead refused to join, hence putting a big bull’s eye on the realm’s back. He told them how Oregon and the realm of giants breached Knyghtstead and wrecked havoc. Well… the Knyghts were actually faring well, but couldn’t fight at their peak because of the civilians; to avoid casualties. So they tried their best to corner the opposition and push

    Aftermath

Chapter 124 ~~ Aftermath ~~ Ian watched King Dhamon fade to oblivion like he never existed. He had his eyes fixated on that spot for about two minutes before raising his head to the turbulent sky and exhaled. He dropped his head and sat on the edge of the slanted building. He kept staring at his dangling legs, sighing at intervals. ‘Is it really over? The all powerful King Dhamon is gone… Well, not all powerful… Mother Knox said he was on par with some demi-gods and yet… I-I just defeated him?’ He held his head and rested his elbows on his thighs, ‘It feels so unreal. I was wielding only a fragment of Ghordon’s essence and it was more than enough to kill him. Wait… Did I just kill someone?’ his eyes dilated for a moment, then he sighed. ‘Tch. He was no longer human.’ “How are you faring, little god?” Mother Knox appeared out of thin air and sat next to Ian. Normally, he’d have been startled but he wasn’t. He tilted his head to take a glance at her, then retracted his eyes to his

Chapter 123 ~ Space-Time ~ ‘This feels… Incredible. It’s like my mind has been opened to several possibilities, several ways I can use my blessing. Ways I could never think of.’ Ian floated around the shattered spaces rocks, mesmerized by the thoughts running through his head. Various attacks and counter measures skimmed through his mind; attacks that made him sure he'd win even with his spatial blessing alone. He raised his right hand and fixated it on Dhamon. The latter had just obliterated the asteroids surrounding him out of frustration. With the King locked in his bull’s eye, he fisted his palm and drew it back. Space warped around Dhamon and pulled him towards Ian in an Instant. However, Dhamon had readied a fist blazing with nether whilst in motion. As he got in proximity with Ian, he lunged his fist at his face. But then, space distorted to Ian's call and the young man vanished while a large asteroid simultaneously took his place. Dhamon ended up punching the asteroids to

Chapter 122 ~~ Fifteen percent? ~~ Specks of blue essence dissociated gradually from Ghordon’s body and seeped into Ian's chest. By now, Ghordon’s right arm and a part of his shoulder had dissociated completely. Ian's brows kept twitching as he tried to maintain an undeterred focus on the process. His hand would quiver in intervals as he resisted the urge to let go of Ghordon’s hand. “Stay calm, Ian. The calmer you are, the faster the merge,” Ghordon said with a soothing voice. With his eyes still closed, Ian grunted, “This is taking too long. Everyone is in danger. I can feel it.” Ghordon sighed, “That’s why I need you to clear your mind. The faster we do this, the better we have a chance of saving everyone.” Rumble! A tremor shook the metaphysical plane, almost swiping Ghordon and Ian off their feet. They staggered from side to side, still holding onto each other. “What was that?” Ian asked. Ghordon’s eyes narrowed, “It’s too soon.” Ian raised a brow, “It feels like somet

It's Mother Knox, isn’t it?”Mother Knox stared at the Dhemistarian in disdain. She could tell from their proximity and the malevolent aura exuding him, that he had risen to the level of a demigod. She creased her brows as she felt him getting stronger even as he spoke. His contact with the Upper dimension where primordial cosmic energies flowed freely might be acting as a catalyst to his godhood affinity.“It burdens me how everyone adores and worships you, calling you the goddess of this, the goddess of that. When in truth you’re nothing but a copied waste product of the true gods themselves,” Dhamon spoke like he was on his throne. His boldness before the demigoddess was unmatched. “You should tell everyone the truth that you’re a false god.”“And you think you can become a true god yourself?” Mother Knox

Her anger and frustration was clearly visible on her face. They weren’t made of flesh and blood, so killing them was kind of pointless and underwhelming. All she wanted was a simple bloodbath, and could only get that from a living creature. That’s why she was still moving forward — to maul Amelia. The thought of taking her back alive had eloped her. She had been overwhelmed by her beastly side.A long shadow suddenly loomed over her and she raised her head to see two tentacles descending towards her. Chapter 119~ The Siege ~Knyghtstead…Conner jolted forward on his chair as the bell rang loudly, reverberating around the tall tower. He swayed his brown hair back and stood up, leaning towards the window frame of the tower’s peak. He could see the rift — that was over a kilometer away from them, ripple continuously.“He’s back…” he whispered to himself and scurried around the small open room. At the bottom edge of each window frames were protruded circular bricks with foreign carvings engraved on them. Setting his mind and body at peace, he touched each one with his palm, imbuing them with his qi before pushing them into the wall.Clang! As he pushed the last one in, the rift went to a standstill. A few seconds later, the shape of a door appeared beneath the rift. One could see Dhemistaria at the other side and the silhouette of a tall man. The man walked through from Dhemistaria to Knyghtstead in matter of seconds, as though he was moving from one room to the other. The door dissi
