William had imagined the face with which his wife would greet him when he came home. But the wishful thinking he had built up with his imagination would never match reality. When he entered the living room, he didn't get a warm welcome from Charlotte's face. His hopes were immediately dashed when he saw the sour face of his mother-in-law, Emma Lysander.

"Where have you been? I haven't seen the bridge of your nose all day. You must be deliberately avoiding doing chores around the house! " Emma asked in a stern tone.

"No ma'am, I have an office assignment to take care of some things out of town." William replied.

"I heard from Charlotte that you've been hired by the Salazar Group with a pretty high position. But you know what I think? I don't believe it. You must be bragging. It's impossible for someone like you to get a management position at the Salazar Group," Emma said.

William's mother-in-law's words were clearly very insulting and demeaning to him, but he still held back. Revealin
