GARAGE

At five in the morning, the alarm on Liam's phone rang. With a half-drowsy look, he got out of bed without any prompting or relaxing his body. He reached for the glass of water that he had prepared before going to bed last night. In less than ten seconds, he gulped down the water.

She hurried. His hand reached for the plain ash-colored zipper hanging on the stock hood behind his door. Afterward, he made a tight knot on his shoes. This morning was the start of him gathering strength.

His breathing was ragged, his life seemed to be on the line. After completing his daily goal of running, he walked around his neighborhood at a leisurely pace while catching his breath that had just made him almost die from not running for a long time.

She glanced at the watch on her wrist. It was almost six o'clock. The glow of the city that he had seen earlier in the morning was slowly disappearing. The sun was beginning to appear on the eastern horizon. A sign for her to go home immediately and prepare to work at Adimas' house.

On the way, his cell phone rang. She saw Mr. Ramlan's name on the screen.

"Liam," Mr. Ramlan's voice shattered the peace of her morning.

"Yes. What's wrong, Mr. Ramlan?"

"Can you come here now? I'm taking Mr. Adimas and Mr. Lukman out of town to meet."

Liam was silent for a moment. His morning was completely ruined. He had hoped that after his shower he could sip hot coffee while watching the birds fly outside the window.

"Liam.... I was talking to you. Can you come?"

"I'm on my morning run, Mr. Ramlan."

"Okay, then, I'll be waiting half an hour from now. You can bring a change of clothes and clean up when you get here."

The connection was cut off before Liam could answer.

After crying all night, Andini woke up from her sleep. Her body seemed to have no energy. Crying is draining on time and stamina.

From her room, Andini heard the sound of a horn coming from downstairs. Curious, she peeked through the window. She saw that her father and his entourage had left the house. Andini used this opportunity to escape and travel around the city by herself.

Not wanting to miss the opportunity, she hurried. With her makeup on, she tried to trick the people who would meet her later. Andini didn't have time to bathe, the longer she took to clean herself up, the harder it was to escape.

Slowly, Andini opened the door to her room. Three maids were busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast. She walked down the stairs with stealthy steps. The three assistants were busy, two were cooking, while the other was preparing the spices. Twenty meters from here, she would have managed to escape after entering through the door that connected the garage to the corner room in the big house.

As she walked, Andini kept her eyes peeled for the movements of the three assistants. If she managed to sneak into the connecting door, then ninety percent of the time she would succeed.

Halfway through the journey, one of the three assistants turned around. He hurriedly hid himself against the wall of a teak cabinet. This cupboard served as storage for his father's collection of sharp objects.

The sharp objects in Adimas' collection are deliberately placed in the living room to give a shock effect to anyone who intends to commit a crime. Either thieves or those who have become members of the Adimas group.

The sweat that dotted his forehead was not in vain. He managed to grab the handle of the door connecting to the garage. His steps were no longer skittering. He was free now. The Marcedez Bens S-Class was parked at the front of the garage. In a few tens of steps, he would be off and out of here.

His steps were halted when someone turned off the water tap of the bathroom on the left side of the garage. A moment later, the door opened. Andini was shocked to see the man who had prevented her from running away appear in front of her, shirtless.

Liam, who realized that Andini intended to run away, immediately got in the way regardless of her condition.

"I demand that you enter the house now." Liam asked Andini in a cold voice.

Andini paid no attention to Liam's words. She only focused on Liam's body. This was the first time she saw her father's bodyguard with a thin body and a slightly sunken stomach.

"How much do you weigh?" Andini asked instead.

"63."

"Your height?"

"177."

"Are you not eating enough?"

"It's none your business."

"OMG! Seriously, not only was he arrogant with his son. But even with his bodyguards, he's arbitrary. Does he underpay his employees?" Andini was babbling to herself. She blamed Adimas for Liam's thin body condition.

"Can you come in now?" Liam asked for the second time.

"I just want to go for a walk," Andini replied.

"If you just want to take a walk, you shouldn't sneak around."

"That's right. I want to go for a walk. I want to get some fresh air."

"Then, wait a moment. Let me take you," Liam said as he grabbed the car keys that Andini had been holding in her right hand.Liam hurriedly grabbed his clothes that were in the car.

From afar, Andini watched Liam who had his back to her. She realized, during their conversation earlier, not once did that pair of sharp eyes make direct contact with her pair of eyes. Liam's cold demeanor made her even more curious.
