“I guess they already heard it.”

Scott looked at the exploding forum with a bit of a heavy mind.

Jason wanted to keep the matter related to his Magic Sphere a secret, but it was all over the forum after the outburst from Envoy Boris. There were multiple videos shared across a variety of platforms, and by the time they got into damage control, it was already too late.

Apparently, many didn’t pay any attention to the battle between the two parties. Rather, they all had their mind on another matter.

“I already informed Jason, there is nothing we can do at the moment. He said it is okay.”

Dane shrugged, looking at the forum. Every single day, Jason made it to the top of the forum, and he had been among the top searched names on many search engines for the past few months.

Still, here they were, sitting in their shabby management building in Light Shone, racking their brains on how to handle the situation.

People learning about Jason’s magic sphere wasn’t a problem, and no one importan

One time, he fell into a ditch and got injured, and another time, wolves hunted him, but none of them came to the feeling he got when Jason’s sword went through his body.He felt it cut through his skin, flesh and bone, and it wasn’t all about pain, it was the feeling of being close to death. Despite The Endless being a game, he felt he had been so close to death. Despite getting killed several times, there had never been such a crushing feeling in his mind until he felt Jason’s sword. He looked at his sword rack, and he wanted to reach out and grab his favourite sword. When he was in a bad mood, these swords and some physical exercises helped him tremendously, but today, he couldn’t reach them. No matter how much he tried, he felt

“Mr Jason, Sir, where do you want to go? I arranged a car.”Samson whispered, coming out of his stopper. He realised even the reporters were stunned by Jason’s cold answer.“I just wanted to take a walk.”Jason didn’t have an idea where he should go at the moment, he just needed to digest the things he had learned from Amelia. He had little time for himself when he was with Hanna and Amelia, especially when they were out on a day like this.“Mr Jason, can I have five minutes of your time? I have some questions for you.”A girl among the group called out loud to him.“Mr Jason, you don’t have to tell them anything.”Samson felt he needed to step up at the moment. Jason was the face of the Crystal Pulse, and one wrong word might cost them a significant amount of reputation.“Hm….”Jason tried to get his head around the situation. ‘Answer what?’He actually had a secret that he couldn’t reveal. Amelia revealed they could kill the players within The Endless, but Jason was sure that a nor

“Jason, Sato Mitsuki has responded. He is saying he will return to The Endless and learn from you. He has thanked you for opening his eyes to see what he is missing.”“Hm… Doesn’t matter.”Jason ignored what Dane said, and he wondered what Dan, Iris, and Samson were doing here in his apartment, but he didn’t have a mind to think about it.‘I guess getting stronger is the only way.’He wondered about what Amelia said. Until then, he thought being a player gave him a great advantage, but the bitter truth was that a powerful enemy could easily take away that advantage. “Jason, these movement activists have found a sample copy of our exclusive contract, and they are using it to justify their demands.”“Just ignore it.”He again dismissed their concerns.“Eh… Jason… What did Grandmaster Amelia tell you to make you think so much?”“Hm? Nothing important.”Jason didn’t know if he could give it up openly. Because his words might prove that he knew the truth about The Endless, and it would l

“Here, this is all I can give you. Consider it as a memento for our deal, human.”“What is this?”Jason picked up the ball of silk Brood spat out from her mouth. He felt something solid underneath, and he ripped out the silk to find an exquisite dagger with a well-decorated sheathe. There was a notable mark on the dagger made of gold that looked like a castle inside a circle.“What is this mark?”“It is something from old times. From something that disappeared long ago.”Jason didn’t press any further as he thought he felt a slight trace of emotions in Brood’s voice. “Thank you, I will leave now.”“Good! You can start the trade when you enter my home.”“Alright!”Jason gave a nod before walking back to Hanna and Amelia. “Bye, bye, big spidy.”Hanna waved her hand. That was the name she called Brood since the day she saw her.“Bye, little human.”Brood watched the little girl wrapping her hands around Jason’s neck with love. This reminded her of the days when she received similar lo

“Daddy! Mommy! Look! Look! Big buildings.”Hanna yelled in excitement as she pointed her hand at the city ahead of them. She was happy beyond what she could explain. She was flying with her mommy and daddy, and every little thing she saw made her excited. “Mhm… We should go there, right, Roth?”“Yes, My Lord. Just give me the document with identity proof, and I can handle everything while you rest.”Eagle transport was one of the fastest methods of transportation they had, but it wasn’t a very pleasant one. They travelled against the icy wind, and it took some iron will and tough skin to fly on eagles. Especially, they didn’t take children with them since there were a few deaths that happened in the past. However, this family was a special case. The young man, who was an alien to their world, was a wizard, and his woman was a Grandmaster. Their adopted child was a child with cursed pupils. He noticed this when he laid his eyes on the child, but Master Boris reminded him several time

“Gulp!”Roth heard his own sound of swallowing. He looked at the destruction surrounding him with eyes full of fear.‘This family… They are so violent!’Even the little girl seemed to be unbothered by her parents’ actions. Roth eyed the commander of the guards, who was being carried into the city by a few men, and he didn’t know if the man was alive or not. The citizens ran out of the city in panic as broken debris fell down from the city wall. With a simple stomp, the Grandmaster caused unimaginable destruction. He saw his people trying their best to calm the eagles, but they stopped all the commotion when the Grandmaster appeared beside them with the child. The eagles were too terrified to even cause a commotion. ‘Are all Grandmasters that strong?’This Grandmaster simply destroyed all defences targeting the sky in a moment, and he couldn’t believe a Grandmaster was that strong.Roth slowly eyed the young alien standing beside him. “You Monster!”…“Sigh! This guy….”Magnus placed the monitor back on the table with a sigh. The video clearly showed one of the guards screaming at the sky in pain, and no one asked who the man was screaming at. Everyone who saw the live-stream and everyone who watched the video knew the answer.Jason Hope left another man in pieces, and this wasn’t the first time he did this. “Chief… The program has started.”Iris turned on the tv in their living room. She felt a bit awkward when she said that. This living room had everything according to her desire, and Dane had very little say in it. She loved the arrangement of their house.Dane was still inside The Endless, and she had to act as the host for their chief. She logged out early because the chief wanted to meet one of them once the situation got out of their hands. Jason’s heartless actions had caused a massive trigger around the world. “I am here to register for the Crystal Pulse.”“What is your name?”“I am Sato Mitsuki.”“Huh?”Dawn looked up in confusion as the name sounded familiar to her. Then she realised it was the same man she saw on the video. This was the man who came to challenge Jason and had a mental breakdown after losing. “Are you serious?”She frowned, and Dawn saw all the attention turning toward them. Even the NPCs knew about the man who challenged Jason. Even though they didn’t know the details of Sato’s mental breakdown, they knew this man had the audacity to challenge Jason Hope. “I am… There is nothing against me joining, right?”Sato looked at everyone with a friendly smile.“Why do you want to join the Crystal Pulse?”Dawn frowned a bit more. Coming here and asking to join meant Sato Mitsuki wanted to join the Crystal Pulse as an exclusive member with higher privileges. “I want to learn to fight like him. "No, I’m saying they’re going overboard.""Isn’t that what they always do? This isn’t the first time The Crystal Pulse has attacked players unprovoked.""We have to do something about it—fast."The discussion had devolved into an argument the moment it started. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

"We move out in an hour!" Logan’s commanding voice echoed through the camp, followed by a notification on their armbands. The message was clear: time to prepare.Gillian gritted her teeth as she tightened the strap around the wound on her arm, the healing paste already numbing the pain. She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. The first and most important rule for Crystal Pulse players was not to die, even if respawning in eighteen hours was an option.'Logan is confident en

  • 297 - Cosmic Horror

'His mutation is changing. Or... should I say improving?' Amelia observed Jason closely as the changes in his body unfolded with each passing second. The starry night-like texture on his left side began to expand subtly toward the right, slowly overtaking the black, armour-like skin. However, the transformation seemed restrained, as though the artefact lacked the power to fully support Jason's demand. The process lasted nearly an hour before the dagger, once brimming with ominous energy, dulled completely, its power entirely drained.Jason’s body underwent slight changes—a small part of his pitch-black armour faded, replaced by the cosmic texture of the starry night. Finally, he opened his eyes, feeling a rare sense of relief. The artifact's mutation had been neutralised; it would no longer corrupt anyone or anything. For the first time in a long while, he felt as though a small part of his burden had been lifted.“Well... you can’t go out like that!” Amelia’s voice pulled him from his

Jason’s gaze returned to the towering demon before him, but he didn’t feel it was worth his attention. His glowing eyes simply stared at the massive figure for a brief moment before he swung his right arm through the air with effortless precision. It was as if he was clawing at the distant figure. A second later, several glowing white lines expanded across the space, moving faster than the eye could track. They reached the demon in an instant, cutting through its form. Behind it, the underground mountain erupted into a cloud of dust, disintegrating as though it had been struck by an invisible force. For a heartbeat, the Greater Demon stood there, frozen in place as if nothing had happened. Then, with a sickening sound, its colossal body crumbled to the ground in pieces, diced cleanly by Jason’s strike.“Screech!” A high-pitched wail echoed across the cavern as panicked creatures scattered, their movements erratic and mindless in the wake of their apex predator’s death. "Shit," Amelia cursed under her breath as she deflected blow after blow, desperately trying to protect Jason from the relentless attacks. It wasn’t just her previous enemies; there was another massive threat looming on the horizon. She could feel the presence of a greater demon, its oppressive aura emanating from afar, finally ready to make its move.'I can't take on this thing,' she thought, parrying another strike aimed at her.She didn't have the luxury of time to grab Jason and flee. Besides, with the monstrous force approaching, running seemed pointless. This new threat was undoubtedly stronger than her.'If only he can fight,' she lamented, her grip tightening around her sword. She couldn't even afford a glance at Jason to check if he was still holding on. All she could hear were his painful grunts, each one a stab to her focus.…"Daddy, Daddy, no, I have to go!" 'This is not going to end well.'Jason barely caught his breath as he hid behind a stone column, narrowly evading the swing of a giant demon's sword. He felt a growing sense of helplessness as his spells failed to inflict any significant damage on these monstrous enemies. Surprisingly, his Arcane Spawns managed to restrain one of the demons temporarily. However, the limitation was clear—he could only summon three Arcane Spawns at a time, and that number was far from enough to take down even a single demon.'I don't think Amelia can hold on much longer.'While Jason was barely managing against a single demon, Amelia was handling all five of the remaining demons on her own. She moved with incredible agility, skillfully evading the swords and other weapons targeting her, striking back whenever she saw an opening. Her blade flashed, leaving shallow cuts on the demons’ thick skin, but it was clear that even with her skill, she was being overwhelmed. Five demons were far more than she cou

Jason gave Hanna a quick peck on the forehead before turning to Samson and Butch."We will handle things while you are gone, Sir Jason," Butch assured him. A moment later, a ripple appeared near them and a small slit expanded in midair. An eerie dark feeling seeped out of it as several small tentacles slipped into their world. “Whee!”Nocturne floated toward Hanna making a cheerful noise. “Hiss.”Ancient Wraith hissed at the foreign creature. “Grr….”Nyx growled at the creature in anger, but it didn’t try to attack it. First, Nocturne was Jason’s pet. Second, her little master had no anger toward this thing. However, Nyx knew that the horrible disease had the same scent as this creature. It was a dangerous and foreign feeling that made them uncomfortable. “Gu!
