“Brother, are we really leaving?”

“Yes. We have to.”

Dimitri gently patted Ingra’s head. This was their home since the beginning, but they had no home left.

“Are you sad?”

“No, brother.”

Peri was among the younger kids listening to a story told by little princess Hanna while they awaited for the preparations to end.

The little princess sat on her own on her white tiger’s belly as she told her story with great interest. It wasn’t in its cat form, and Dimitri felt amazed whenever he saw this creature change its body size as it pleased.

Some kids like Peri listened to the story with interest while others were there to get close to the tiger.

Whichever the reason was, they kept all the children awake at the early dawn while almost all the adults prepared for their departure. The sun was yet to come up, but everyone was busy with something.

“You should take care of Peri while we travel, okay?”

Dimitri wondered if it was too much to ask from Ingra, but this was all he could do.

“Wizard… I mean, Jason. Are you sure there is someone out there?”Wizard Lock used his senses to check the surroundings, but he felt nothing.‘Is he going delusional after his failure? Did I make the wrong choice?’He had seen people lose hope after they failed, and it had a significant impact on wizards compared to the others. Lock knew he should have backed away from the contract when Jason failed. He should have returned the pay and even should have paid back for what Jason taught his student in Rune Craft. However, Lock didn’t do any of this for a reason. The reason was the way Jason treated the people. He took in many orphans from the streets and treated them like humans. This attitude wasn’t the attitude of a high and mighty noble, but a humble man who knew what it was to be poor. Besides, Jason’s failure had nothing to do with his payment, and Jason held his end of the bargain so far. Still, as a rare mercenary among the wizards, Lock should have left Jason the moment he fa

“Teacher. We can help!” Ethan wanted to get back into the battle, but he didn’t feel well after his Water Dancer died in the flame. “No need. A brown magic circle and a red magic circle appeared in midair, and Jason summoned his shields right in front of them even before the spells came to power. Both wizards cancelled their spells and took a wary stance. “Three of you have no chance against me. Well… It won’t make any change even if the other three joined you. You shouldn’t have come here, Gilbert!” Jason shook his head in amusement. He knew Gilbert hated him, but he expected this idiot to keep his head down. However, not only Gilbert joined hands with the Will of God, he even had the guts to come here. “You are too arrogant, Jason. Why aren’t you attacking?” Gilbert expected this battl

The conversation from the carriage looked comical, but the atmosphere on the outside turned tenser with each cheerful word. Jason’s mind was on Amelia and Hanna’s exchange, leaving everyone else in a very uncomfortable situation. He wondered why Amelia was suggesting Hanna pain his face the next time. “Wizard Jason, it seems you want to end this with bloodshed.” “End with blood? Already more than enough people have died. And what makes you think you are strong enough to negotiate with me? Then again, none of that matters.” “What do you mean, Wizard Jason?” “I am going to kill you all just for being you. I am going to wipe out the Will of God.” “You… Kill him!” “Attack!” Garth, who prepared for the entire thing with his trusted sphere, yelled when he heard the command from the otherside. He was in shock as the rest, but he had more experience and a sense of duty. He had to fight even if they lost the entire thing miserably. “Ice Palace!” However, no one got to move before t

“Ethan, Charlie.” Jason called his two students as they started advancing again. Amelia stayed in the carriage with Hanna since they would soon reach their camping spot for the night. “Teacher!” “Did you learn anything during the battle?” Jason wondered if he gave his students any valuable lessons. “Eh… It is best to overpower the enemy with unknown spells.” Jason pulled the reins of his horse and completely turned around to stare at Ethan’s face, “How many unknown spells are available to you, Ethan?” Jason felt he might fall off his steed if he got another similar answer. “I have none, Teacher. But….” Ethan swallowed the latter part of the sentence as he saw Jason’s stern gaze. “It is best to use the most powerful spells….” Charlie also had no clue what he was supposed to learn from the battle, but he didn’t answer as bluntly as Ethan. “Better….” Jason saw many others paying a great amount of attention to their conversation. “First lesson is from those idiots. However, three individuals from Earth and Xanders, a native of Yuriel, wore expressions filled with heaviness. They knew the truth that lurked behind the facade of Jason’s powers. The Crystal Pulse was on the edge of despair because of recent events and found a glimmer of hope in Jason’s might. “If this is what he is capable of, no wonder he didn’t want to reveal his magic.” Xanders stared at the footage in disbelief, his eyes wide with astonishment. In the execution of two unique spells and the summoning of an otherworldly entity, Jason’s ability was undeniable. Even Xanders, with all his experience, recognized the sheer power displayed. She seemed to have grown curious after he properly awakened his Magic sphere. “Is that a big amount?”“Hm… Yes. It is….”He retracted his smile when he saw Amelia’s raised eyebrow.Amelia knew what he was truly interested in was the amount of money he saw in the message. “Is that a lot?”Amelia asked the same question again. “A lot? That is twenty million dollars.”He tried to emphasise the amount while keeping his voice low. Hanna was in a sound sleep beside them, and he didn’t want to wake her up. Since they camped outside, they used a single tent as their resting place at night. “Is that a lot?”Amelia had no change in her expression.“Sigh. "What a small place," the hooded figure muttered as he entered the heart of the Brodice Kingdom’s capital. His voice, a slightly older male tone, carried a mix of amusement and disappointment. "And why is their security so bad?" he added, his sharp eyes scanning the bustling streets.Soldiers packed every corner and alley, their inspections meticulous. Even the citizens were forced to pass through layers upon layers of security just to move about. Yet, despite the apparent vigilance, no one noticed him. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. 'His mutation is changing. Or... should I say improving?' Amelia observed Jason closely as the changes in his body unfolded with each passing second. The starry night-like texture on his left side began to expand subtly toward the right, slowly overtaking the black, armour-like skin. However, the transformation seemed restrained, as though the artefact lacked the power to fully support Jason's demand. The process lasted nearly an hour before the dagger, once brimming with ominous energy, dulled completely, its power entirely drained.Jason’s body underwent slight changes—a small part of his pitch-black armour faded, replaced by the cosmic texture of the starry night. Finally, he opened his eyes, feeling a rare sense of relief. The artifact's mutation had been neutralised; it would no longer corrupt anyone or anything. For the first time in a long while, he felt as though a small part of his burden had been lifted.“Well... you can’t go out like that!” Amelia’s voice pulled him from his

His glowing eyes simply stared at the massive figure for a brief moment before he swung his right arm through the air with effortless precision. It was as if he was clawing at the distant figure. A second later, several glowing white lines expanded across the space, moving faster than the eye could track. They reached the demon in an instant, cutting through its form. Behind it, the underground mountain erupted into a cloud of dust, disintegrating as though it had been struck by an invisible force. For a heartbeat, the Greater Demon stood there, frozen in place as if nothing had happened. Then, with a sickening sound, its colossal body crumbled to the ground in pieces, diced cleanly by Jason’s strike.“Screech!” A high-pitched wail echoed across the cavern as panicked creatures scattered, their movements erratic and mindless in the wake of their apex predator’s death.
