“Holy! Now that is a hook.”
Everyone looked surprised for a moment by Jason’s right hand, including Kane.
The stadium fell into a momentary silence with the crushing blow, and Kane looked disoriented by the strike. He wasn’t ready for the strike, and there was no expectation to see such massive power from Jason. Besides, Kane was taller than Jason, and the distance Jason had to cross was longer than what Kane should cross to reach Jason.
However, the surprise didn’t last for more than a second. Jason’s right hand again reached Kane’s face like a rocket.
“Crack!”
The mics near the ring recorded a clear cracking sound as Jason’s fist connected with Kane’s skull.
Kane’s head whipped to the side with uncontrollable force, and a bit of blood splattered to the side. However, Jason wasn’t done with his assault.
His left hand followed with a punch to Kane’s ribcage, followed by a similar right hand.
“Crack! Crack!”
Two more crushing sounds followed the brutal assault. Finally, Jason followed up with a roundhouse kick to Kane’s chest.
“Boom!”
Kane’s heavy body flew across the ring before hitting the steel fence that surrounded the ring. A moment later, his unconscious body fell to the ground as a stream of blood seeped out of the corner of his mouth.
There was an eerie silence in the stadium. In fact, everyone who watched the fight even from their homes was stunned. No one knew what happened or how it happened. Even the referee looked too shocked to move.
“Are you waiting for me to kill him?”
Jason's calm and cold voice was the first thing to break the dead silence.
“Ah….”
The referee took a good moment before rushing to unconscious Kane’s side.
“That man needs medical help.”
An experienced fighter jumped up from his seat in the commenting area.
Finally, people started coming back to life. Officials ran into the ring to check on Kane, and the guards surrounded Jason to protect him from the others. The entire venue fell into a disarray of shock and chaos within a couple of seconds.
The Fight of the Century didn’t even last a minute, and the challenger was in critical condition.
There were many furious, curious, and terrified gazes focusing on Jason who stood at the centre of the ring with his painted face. His eyes never left the fallen enemy, and his icy gaze made the others shiver.
“You… You monster….”
Jason looked at the old man stuttering while pointing his finger at him.
It was the man who introduced himself as the coach of Kane Evanders.
“Old man, I told you before. You should learn to pick your fights. If you can’t, you need to learn to keep your mouth shut.”
Their conversation wasn’t loud enough to be heard by everyone, but there were enough cameras and microphones to broadcast the entire conversation.
“Remember! My name is Jason Hope!”
…
A few minutes after the fight, the entire world fell into shocking disarray.
The people who suffered the most were the ones who placed their bets on Kane’s victory. Some of them even lost their fortunes, and the minority who placed their bets on Jason was beyond overjoyed.
The next problem came when the payout for these bets came. The difference was too high, and some directly refused to pay the bets, creating even more chaos.
Amid this chaos, Jason’s name started to dominate the entire world.
Various media cooperation, social media and influencers started quoting the fight. Also, the massive event ended in a very unexpected manner.
Most people expected to see the fight last at least a couple of rounds, but it ended the moment it started, and Kane was in hospital in critical condition.
By the time the doctors confirmed Kane’s condition wasn’t critical, slow-motion videos of the fight were spreading all over the world.
In those videos, everyone saw the slight caving of Kane’s skull as Jason’s fist connected with it. Also, the mics recorded several bone-cracking sounds with each strike.
Even though the extent of the damage wasn’t critical, and Kane’s condition was yet to be announced, everyone knew Jason had broken several bones and given a concussion to Kane.
…
“The promise is delivered. Jason Hope sent another man to the hospital!”
The titles started appearing all over the world.
“He will break that ant!”
“Do you know him better than me?”
“Enjoy your time until tomorrow!”
“Remember! I am Jason Hope!”
“Is this what it means to have AI accuracy to the maximum? She predicted what Jason would do hours before. Can The Endless game engine be the most powerful AI engine ever?”
“Jason Hope! The most dangerous fighter in the world.”
“Unexpected ending. Undefeated Kane Evanders lost in thirty-three seconds.”
“Will Jason Hope step into MMA fighting? Is there anyone who can face him?”
“A monster in the game! A monster in the real world!”
Jason Hope! The man who can do it all!”
Various titles with various pictures of Jason’s fight popped out everywhere.
His old pictures where he took on the bandits, and videos of Jason beating up Derek to a crying mess came back to the light.
However, what caught the most attention was his painted face which Jason used to play with Hanna, and what Amelia said about Jason before the battle.
Her words described Jason the best and what he was capable of.
…
“That was brutal! I didn’t think he would go that far.”
Magnus stared at the footage of the fight with a blank expression. Jason was a brutal man, but he expected to see some control while he was on Earth. However, all his expectations seemed to be in vain.
The world finally acknowledged the appearance of Jason Hope. A man who showed signs of becoming a legend.
“Did he leave?”
“He just logged in after a shower, Chief. He said he had to show his face to Hanna or she won’t be happy with him.”
“Hm… What about the money?”
“We already have it. I deposited it to Jason’s personal account, Chief.”
“Good. He is no longer a simple man. Everyone will know his name and who he exactly is. Even if this doesn’t affect The Endless too much, people will pay attention to him.”
Magnus felt it was rather better to go with the flow than to try anything more with Jason.
He was no longer under anyone’s control.
“My name is Jason Hope.”
He was no longer a random nobody who had no one in this world. He was a man of power and dominance.
“Damn! Damn! Damn!”“What? Are you still watching the fight? Can’t you just give it up? I lost all my allowance by betting on Kane. That stupid musclehead. Totally useless.”“No. It is the Crystal Pulse!”“What? Do they have to boast more? I am telling you… If this wasn’t their area….”The player with dark circles under his eyes clenched his fists in anger. He lost so much money in the fight a few hours ago. However, there were many changes within the player community within this short time. First, there were no more arguments about who owned Light Shone. Even if Jason failed the assessment in The Endless, Jason Hope was a more complex man to the players. He was the true alpha of The Endless who could be as scary as the real him on Earth. The order in Light Shone looked much better, and the regular players showed much more interest in the Crystal Pulse and its activities. Of course, the Crystal Pulse wasn’t a terrible place for regular players who didn’t register or got selected a
“This way!”Gillian led the way into the forest in haste. The road they started building was coming into shape and travelling into the forest became easy. The only downside was the effort they had to put into developing a single road. Clearing, preparations and material gathering took days. Instead of calling it playing, it felt like manual labour. If not for the fact that their pay was good and their gameplay wasn’t as boring as it looked, they would have given up long ago. The daily training and the feeling of getting stronger as the days passed made it exciting for them. All the hard work they had to put in looked worth it when they could see the road they were taking and where it was headed. ‘But it is nothing to them….’She thought of the Earth wizard and his students who made roads within a couple of hours. They came here with Jason, and they looked more like workers compared to real wizards. Also, they seemed to be really respectful toward Jason and showed a slight hint of
“I am leaving, then….” “I will take care of her, and we will wait until you are back.” There was an awkward silence between them. Jason kept his distance from Amelia and Hanna. Last time, Nyx got pulled in with him in the space wrap, as Amelia called it. He might drag the two people he had to protect into danger if something went wrong. Hanna was still asleep, and he couldn’t imagine how sad she would be if she knew he was leaving for an unknown period. ‘The warning is useful. I don’t have to drag them into this.’ He didn’t know how long he would be away, and what kind of world he would fall into. ‘It won’t be the same as the last time, right?’ He thought of the children he trained. He thought of them many times and wished what he taught them was enough for them to have a safe life. ‘Sigh.’ His eyes darted to the silver-haired beauty who had her gaze fixed on him. He didn’t know what was going on in her mind, but he knew the one who sent him the message through the armban
‘Where am I?’ Jason slowly opened his eyes and he felt something brushing against his skin. “Crack! Crack” The steel straps shattered with the steel bed as he moved his body with no effort. ‘Huh?’ Jason looked at the shattered steel in a confused mind. ‘I was… Like how it ended in the previous simulation.’ He realised he couldn’t feel any ground beneath him. ‘I am floating….’ His body flooded with a familiar power, and his body had mutated into how he was at the end of the last simulation. Half of his body had skin that resembles the void filled with stars, and the other half had the scaled skin covered in spikes. ‘What is this place?’ He realised he was inside a manmade structure. ‘A factory? How did I get here? And what is this?’ He looked at the broken metal beneath him. The light came down into the massive building through the broken roof. Everything looked rusted and old, but Jason noticed some metals showing signs of resistance to the weather. ‘What are these?
‘Sigh.’Jason stared at the setting sun in silence. For once in his life, he learned about absolute silence. Even the noisy robot which followed him around was silent. He knew it was sitting below the garbage mountain. It was the gloomiest sunset he ever witnessed in his life. Unknown fumes and black clouds covered the sky the entire day, and sunlight rarely penetrated the grey sky. The sunset revealed no stars or a moon, making Jason angrier. He thought of the time he spent watching the sky with Hanna and Amelia. He told stories about the stars they saw on Yuriel to his little girl. Of course, Amelia didn’t mind teasing him from time to time about his stories, and it was a time he enjoyed with the two of them. This gloomy sky made him enraged as time passed.“Roar!”Jason roared into the darkness and waved his hand at the dark sky.“Swift!”A gust of power-filled wind ripped the gloomy sky into two, revealing the distant star.‘Sigh!’He leaned back and looked into the unknown sky
“Another one. Damn it.”Jason growled in frustration. It took him days to properly disassemble a single robot, and it took him even more time to learn how to put one back together. However, he failed to make even a single one work. Jason also had to keep his anger in check to ensure he wouldn’t destroy any more robots. Since he had to repair at least one of them, every part was valuable. ‘I am not even close to finding this damned objective.’What truly made him angrier was knowing that repairing a robot might not help him achieve anything. He had no idea how to extract their memories and even if these robots had records of their creators. The best thing was to repair these devices that resembled computers to see the information they had, but he couldn’t even repair a simple robot. Also, the world had no source of power left except the sun, and he had to start everything from scratch. “Beep! Beep!”“Hm?”Jason looked at the only working robot looking at his handy work. PX-5 was t
‘Damn it. Why is this so hard?’Jason looked at the things he wrote down as the process of getting rid of the garbage on this planet. He could collect and recycle the most, but there was a massive problem with the history he learned. The original inhabitants brought resources from other planets and objects in the surrounding solar system to this planet, and the crash of the floating constructions made it worse. In the end, the planet had more materials than its original mass, and Jason thought of getting rid of them over time. Also, the lack of sunlight due to the polluted sky, and the energy was a limited resource for the time being. He had to clear the sky to ensure the machines could work for a longer time. The next problem was the repairs and services of the robots. The original robots didn’t include advanced maintenance robots, which were suitable for sustaining the robots independently. ‘I have no idea what happened to these humans. They didn’t send any communication back o
"Should I close the roof, creator?"“Go on "Jason felt bored after looking at the bright sky filled with thousands of Aerial vehicles. Towering skyscrapers dominated the skies instead of the black smoke from before. Planet Titan was no longer the lifeless world he stepped on. It had a thriving community filled with AI-based lifeforms.Jason didn’t know if he should call them life, but they were the only intelligent beings in this world.‘Well… I guess I made an entire world.’He looked at the various monitors observing the mechanical fish and birds he created out of boredom. Everything was robots, and none of them could reproduce on their own. However, Jason programmed them to the best of his ability to resemble the original extinct animals of Titan, and the research was ongoing to develop a method for their continuation. ‘Hm….’Jason relaxed back onto his chair, wondering what else he should do.Humanoid robots moved along the streets as if they were real people with daily lives,
