‘Am I crazy?’
Raymond wanted to take back those words the moment they left his mouth.
He wanted to act as if he had just said them out of curiosity. However, that wasn’t the reason for his words. These were the exact words he heard from the dread king.
The moment Raymond informed about Jason to his contractor, he got the question of why he was informing them about Jason now. Raymond could only explain why he wanted to confirm if Jason was truly the one. It was a poor excuse, but he had no other explanation for the delay.
Rymond expected some kind of backlash from his decision to delay the information from reaching his contractor. However, he felt a drastic change in the emotions of the dread king the moment he observed Jason through Raymond’s eyes.
‘Not human. Heavily corrupted by the dark dimension. That human is partially a dimensional horror.’
Just after giving him the message, the dread king cut off the connection between them out of nowhere, leaving Raymond in a daze.
It was obvious even the dread king didn’t want to deal with Jason for the time being.
Corruption of the dark dimension was an extremely rare occurrence even in The Endless. The only way for a human or an animal to be corrupted by the energy of the dark dimension was for them to be exposed to the dimensional fissures for a long time.
This rarely happened because usually, a dimensional horror would soon follow a fissure. No animal or human would spend their time willingly near a fissure to another dimension. Even if they did, many creatures didn’t survive the corruption. As for those who survived, they would lose their mind as their bodies altered with the corruption.
The corrupted ones would then go on a rampage, annihilating all living beings until someone superior would take them down. The corrupted being would lose their intelligence, but they would gain superior physical capabilities and advanced regenerative abilities.
‘Those corrupted creatures would never look like this.’
Raymon knew how their physical bodies would change and how they would lose their minds.
Jason Hope in front of him was in perfect shape and had a sharp mind. There were no signs of corruption.
‘Will he take it as a disrespect?’
No matter what, Raymond considered Jason as the crown jewel of humanity.
“I….”
He wanted to explain his reasoning.
“Huh? Corruption? Are you talking about the mutation?”
“Huh? Mutation? Is that what you call it?”
Raymond felt baffled by Jason’s question.
They knew the mutation due to the exposure to various energies of magical domains. The corruption was something completely different to them. The mutated creatures would have changes in their bodies, but they wouldn’t lose their minds.
“That is a bit different.”
Raymond tried his best to explain to Jason the difference between mutation and corruption.
…
‘That is weird.’
Jason knew Raymond was referring to his mutation.
With the bond he formed with Nocturne, Jason was sure that the mutation came from the dark dimension.
However, the source of his original mutation came with the first simulation.
‘I am not sure how it even affects me.’
The mutation surely improved his physical stats even in the real world. However, he never saw any physical changes in his body other than when he was in simulations. As far as he remembered, he never lost his mind because of the mutation.
‘The mutants are not unintelligent beasts.’
In his very first simulation, the place where he first learned about the mutation, Jason learned the invaders who brought the mutation were from an advanced galactic species. Also, according to Amelia, the mutant had intelligence similar to humans and they also had the same technologies.
The corruption Raymond mentioned was similar, but Jason wondered if a person would lose their mind completely. He knew the mutation caused him to have increased bloodlust at the initial stage, but it went down as the mutation progressed.
He wondered if they were talking about the same thing.
“Hm… I think I have some effects of mutation, but I can’t show you.”
Jason wondered if there was a way for him to get the mutation out of his body.
He didn’t mind having the mutation as it made him stronger at almost no cost. He knew the mutation was there since he felt it with the connection of Nocturne, but he couldn't surface it.
‘Now that I think about it. Is the mutation there even when I am in Yuriel?’
According to Amelia, all the simulations he went through could be real. If so, he might be a partial mutant.
‘I wonder what happened to those kids….’
He thought of the children he trained in his second simulation.
“You… You can’t… Mr Jason… This isn’t a joke….”
“Huh?”
Jason came back to reality with the sudden question.
“I am not joking. I can’t bring out my mutation at will. Well… According to you… Corruption.”
“What do you mean…? Are you saying you are corrupted? I mean….”
“Well… Sort of. But I am in perfect mind.”
Jason shrugged.
“But… How?”
“I am not sure. But… Do you think it is the reason for my advancement?”
Jason raised his brow.
He also thought this was a possibility, but it brought many other questions to his mind.
If that was the case, then everyone who reached beyond Grand Wizard level, including Amelia, should be some sort of a mutant.
Even if he gained the ability to break the shackles, there was another reason one might fail to advance beyond the limit.
The reason was the flow reversal.
If not for Amelia, even Jason would have hesitated to follow this path.
‘It is no wonder Grand Wizards are stuck. No one is willing to share this knowledge with them.’
The floor reversal was a concept that could scare any wizard.
It was reversing the flow of magic within one's body to unblock the Magic nodes. This was similar to crashing two forces opposing one another inside the body.
‘It is not difficult to try it out, but I guess no one is daring enough to do so.’
It was a risk that many wizards wouldn’t take. Even if they did, most of them would try that out when they reached the end of the line for them. A weak body couldn’t handle the flow reversal, and it would harm the wizard instead of helping them to open the next Magic node.
‘It is difficult if no one is willing to share this knowledge.’
It would be different if the wizards were desperate for a breakthrough.
However, it wasn’t the case in places like Yuriel. The Grand Wizards were the ultimate power, and they were the true royalties on the planet. There was no reason for them to push themselves beyond the limits with unwanted risks.
Until the invasion from the Cervians in his past life, no Grand Wizard on Yuriel had a life-threatening challenge except for old age.
“Can we test some of your blood… Mr Jason?”
“That is not a problem.”
Jason looked at the excited scientists standing behind Raymond.
“Really? Can we really examine your blood?”
“Go ahead. I will try to see if I can bring out my mutation. But didn’t you test my blood already?”
Jason pondered for a moment.
“We did, Mr Jason. But we didn’t look for the corruption of darkness.”
The lead scientist looked a bit worried.
“Corruption of darkness. That is a fancy word.”
For the first time, Jason tried to feel the mutation in his body.

‘I am back. What a relief….’Jason felt relieved when he found himself back in the familiar room. He was back on Yuriel, and he was home. The time he spent away was much less in this simulation, but it was still away from his loved ones. Also, this simulation was eventful, where he had to interact with many new things daily. ‘Hm…?’A smile crept up as he felt the rapid footsteps approaching him.He missed these two a lot.“Daddy!”The little bundle of joy fell into his arms. “Hanna… Eh…?”Jason felt something was wrong when he felt the wetness on her face. “Hig… Hig… Daddy… I miss you.”“Hm?”Jason felt baffled by her words. It was still dark outside, and everything looked the same as when he left Yuriel. “Is it done?”Jason looked at the writings on the eggshell. His blood started drying as Amelia wrote on it in some ancient language. He knew this was the one she had used before to bind Nyx to Hanna. He wanted to learn this from her but still hadn’t found time to do so. “It is done. Now we just have to get one drop of Hanna’s blood.”Amelia looked at Hanna with a smile.“Eh… Will it hurt, Mommy?”Hanna tried to act brave, but Jason saw signs of worry hidden in her face. “Of course not. Have I ever hurt you?”“Noooo.”“Well then, I am not going to hurt you now. Come on, give me your hand.”Jason smiled from the side, looking at the interaction between the two. Amelia wasn’t verbal, but her love for Hanna was obvious. She treated Hanna like a real daughter, just like he did.“Come here.”Amelia pressed his index finger on Hanna’s thumb, and the latter closed her eyes.Jason looked at Amelia and she had a smile on her face. “We need to talk.”Amelia whispered to the side. Hanna seemed happy, and she saw no problem with the contract. Since it was a blood contract made even before the creature came to life, it should be effective enough. “Mommy! Mommy! Daddy! Daddy!”The little creature seemed to repeat what it heard from Hanna, and it seemed to be energetic. It flew around Hanna while waiting for its master to choose the proper dress for her. In the end, Amelia made three similar gowns from three different colours for Hanna. It wasn’t a difficult task, and she knew it would make Hanna happy. Wizard Of Cosmos 277 - What is Going On?
“Do you think there was a world like that?”“I am not sure….”Amelia wondered if what Jason described was truly possible. A world where Magical creatures lived together with humans. She knew Jason’s previous simulation was a time-travel event where he created the Titan civilization. On the other hand, she didn’t know much about his previous simulations. However, what Jason described this time was beyond her level of comprehension. There was also a problem with why the world described by Jason only had humans in it. The magic wasn’t exclusive to humans, and many other races had wizards among their ranks. ‘There is a possibility that all that is to be an illusion.’As for the Ancient Wrath’s egg, the person who supported Jason could have easily passed it to him. 299 - Question With No Answer
"No, I’m saying they’re going overboard.""Isn’t that what they always do? This isn’t the first time The Crystal Pulse has attacked players unprovoked.""We have to do something about it—fast."The discussion had devolved into an argument the moment it started. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. The first and most important rule for Crystal Pulse players was not to die, even if respawning in eighteen hours was an option.'Logan is confident en
297 - Cosmic Horror
'His mutation is changing. Or... should I say improving?' Amelia observed Jason closely as the changes in his body unfolded with each passing second. The starry night-like texture on his left side began to expand subtly toward the right, slowly overtaking the black, armour-like skin. However, the transformation seemed restrained, as though the artefact lacked the power to fully support Jason's demand. The process lasted nearly an hour before the dagger, once brimming with ominous energy, dulled completely, its power entirely drained.Jason’s body underwent slight changes—a small part of his pitch-black armour faded, replaced by the cosmic texture of the starry night. Finally, he opened his eyes, feeling a rare sense of relief. The artifact's mutation had been neutralised; it would no longer corrupt anyone or anything. For the first time in a long while, he felt as though a small part of his burden had been lifted.“Well... you can’t go out like that!” Amelia’s voice pulled him from his

Jason’s gaze returned to the towering demon before him, but he didn’t feel it was worth his attention. His glowing eyes simply stared at the massive figure for a brief moment before he swung his right arm through the air with effortless precision. It was as if he was clawing at the distant figure. A second later, several glowing white lines expanded across the space, moving faster than the eye could track. They reached the demon in an instant, cutting through its form. Behind it, the underground mountain erupted into a cloud of dust, disintegrating as though it had been struck by an invisible force. For a heartbeat, the Greater Demon stood there, frozen in place as if nothing had happened. Then, with a sickening sound, its colossal body crumbled to the ground in pieces, diced cleanly by Jason’s strike.“Screech!” A high-pitched wail echoed across the cavern as panicked creatures scattered, their movements erratic and mindless in the wake of their apex predator’s death. "Shit," Amelia cursed under her breath as she deflected blow after blow, desperately trying to protect Jason from the relentless attacks. It wasn’t just her previous enemies; there was another massive threat looming on the horizon. She could feel the presence of a greater demon, its oppressive aura emanating from afar, finally ready to make its move.'I can't take on this thing,' she thought, parrying another strike aimed at her.She didn't have the luxury of time to grab Jason and flee. Besides, with the monstrous force approaching, running seemed pointless. This new threat was undoubtedly stronger than her.'If only he can fight,' she lamented, her grip tightening around her sword. She couldn't even afford a glance at Jason to check if he was still holding on. All she could hear were his painful grunts, each one a stab to her focus.…"Daddy, Daddy, no, I have to go!" Hanna cried out, trying to rush toward the mine entrance. Before she could take another step, Nocturne leapt from her

'This is not going to end well.'Jason barely caught his breath as he hid behind a stone column, narrowly evading the swing of a giant demon's sword. He felt a growing sense of helplessness as his spells failed to inflict any significant damage on these monstrous enemies. Surprisingly, his Arcane Spawns managed to restrain one of the demons temporarily. However, the limitation was clear—he could only summon three Arcane Spawns at a time, and that number was far from enough to take down even a single demon.'I don't think Amelia can hold on much longer.'While Jason was barely managing against a single demon, Amelia was handling all five of the remaining demons on her own. She moved with incredible agility, skillfully evading the swords and other weapons targeting her, striking back whenever she saw an opening. Her blade flashed, leaving shallow cuts on the demons’ thick skin, but it was clear that even with her skill, she was being overwhelmed. Five demons were far more than she cou

"Hanna, you have to be good and stay here, alright?""Alright, Daddy," Hanna responded, her voice tinged with sadness, but she kept her composure.'Hanna is a big girl. I can't cry. Mommy and Daddy promised to come back,' she reminded herself, trying to act brave.Floating behind her, Nocturne extended its tentacles, imitating the action of wiping away tears as if to comfort Hanna in its own eerie way."No, Hanna is not crying, Little Cuttlefish," Hanna tried to argue with Nocturne, waving her tiny fist cutely at the eldritch horror."Make sure everything is okay." Jason gave Hanna a quick peck on the forehead before turning to Samson and Butch."We will handle things while you are gone, Sir Jason," Butch assured him. “Eh….”Hanna turned her head around as she felt a familiar ominous feeling. “What is it, Hanna?”“Little Cuttlefish is here, Mommy.”She didn’t know where it was, but she felt its presence. A moment later, a ripple appeared near them and a small slit expanded in midair. An eerie dark feeling seeped out of it as several small tentacles slipped into their world. “Whee!”Nocturne floated toward Hanna making a cheerful noise. “Hiss.”Ancient Wraith hissed at the foreign creature. “Grr….”Nyx growled at the creature in anger, but it didn’t try to attack it. First, Nocturne was Jason’s pet. Second, her little master had no anger toward this thing. However, Nyx knew that the horrible disease had the same scent as this creature. It was a dangerous and foreign feeling that made them uncomfortable. “Gu! “No! I will not let you go in.”Brood’s voice was sharp and loud, and Jason felt the surrounding air vibrate with her voice. “It is already spreading. Send out one of your Drones and check the caves to the north. There is a crack.”Jason didn’t care about Brood’s rant at the moment. He was much stronger than before. Even if he failed to defeat Brood, he was confident enough to survive against her and escape. Besides, Amelia should be already on her way here. “But… But… This is the only place I am supposed to protect. I… I didn’t let anything escape.”Brood’s voice broke a little as she tried to suppress the agitation. “Check it out. I can feel the monsters roaming beneath those cracks, and it won’t be long before they escape.”“But….”“There is no time. She is coming, and she is angry. So check it out. We will go in there and finish it, Brood. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not. It is too dangerous and we are going to end whatever is down there.”Jason had no idea what kind o
