“Hehehe….”

‘It is so difficult to deal with Children.’

Listening to Hanna’s cheerful laughter, Jason wondered how her mood suddenly changed.

Hanna cried for a while before stopping. However, after she stopped crying, she was constantly smiling. She even looked a bit shy about crying, and there was no answer to her reason for crying.

In the morning they went to the tanner to make a pair of slippers and a pair of shoes for her.

Jason also brought a pair of shoes and coarse leather pants for him. Since his cape wasn’t with him during that so-called training, it was in good condition.

He had to warm up the horse before going back, so he placed Hanna on the horseback while he walked it around the village.

Hanna seemed to be enjoying it a lot.

Still, he had to keep his eyes on her because the horse was too tall, and a fall could do some serious damage to the child.

‘Well… With her around, I shouldn’t worry too much.’

Amelia had never left Hanna’s side since they came out.

“Your name is Matt, right?”“Yes, Lord Initiate.”Matt struggled to act respectfully, but he couldn’t let go of the feeling of disdain in his heart. Contrary to Julian’s words, he didn't see a notable strength in this young alien. He admitted it was impressive to defeat five guards, but the guards of Forestedge were simply armed peasants. Also, he didn’t have any confidence in these plans against the bandits. ‘Well… I can take care of this one. But… Julian….’They were getting close to one of the weaker bandit camps. This group of bandits were so weak that they didn’t even have an Elite among them. If nothing went wrong, even he could finish off these bandits. Besides, there were ten armed guards with him. “This is just a game… This is just a game….”Bruce muttered, again and again. He wanted to remind himself not to throw up.Everyone looked as if they were frozen in fear. He even heard the sound of breathing, and the animals seemed to have gone mute for a moment. He saw the recording of this camp made by Jason. There were about fifty bandits and around twenty captives. The number of bandits was even twice their number, and he didn’t know why Jason wanted to attack them head-on. That was, until now. Within a mere few seconds, around ten bandits fell to the ground. One of them was directly split into two, which made his stomach turn. ‘Huh?’Bruce thought he heard a slight clattering sound.‘Is that guy… Shaking?’The captain of the guards that came with them was literally shaking.“My god….”Dawn whispered in a daze. She witnessed Jason fighting wolves, and she saw the video of him fighting guards. However, this was the first time she saw him killing people, and this was so fast. E

“Hello, my son. What made you call this old man?”“Dad?”Bruce felt a bit unfamiliar with his father’s tone, but he was relieved to hear this voice after everything he witnessed. All the blood and killing were affecting his mind. Especially the prisoners they saved made him think about the value of human life. He also wanted to hear from his dad; his only family left in this world“What do you want, son? Is everything okay?”David walked out of his meeting room when Bruce called his private number. Their relationship had been a little distant after his wife’s death, and his disapproval of Bruce playing games. It had been a while since they talked to each other like this, and he wanted to try to mend their relationship. “Well… Yeah.”Bruce felt awkward with this straightforward question, but it was more like his father’s style.“I want a slot in the channel.”He directly stated his request, trying to calm his mind. He wanted to talk to his father and tell him about what happened, but

Bruce thought he lost his balance as he felt the world going silent for a moment. He held on to the tree, trying to stabilise his shaking world.“I… Really hope it is not a mutated cave bear.”When he regained his hearing again, he saw the guard captain, Julian, frowning into the trees.“Mutated? “Good evening and welcome to our tonight's special show, everyone. This is one of the first ever to Sky News, and I am Chris Hale, your host tonight.”Chris started his intro without missing a beat. Even though he was short on notice, it was nothing to a true veteran like him. However, he tried to keep his rational mind. He had his fair share of gameplay experience as a kid, but that was years ago. He was familiar with all the sensational news around the world, but not too much on gaming. ‘I have to admit. The content of this game is truly impressive.’He could have rejected the show even if it was from their chairman, but then he saw the video that would be the topic of tonight's discussion. They might not be trained fighters.”His questions drew all eyes to John, who wanted to strangle Luminous.‘I just found a good point in The Endless, and you are trying to screw me over.’Still, John didn’t change his business smile for a second.“I agree. "No, I’m saying they’re going overboard.""Isn’t that what they always do? This isn’t the first time The Crystal Pulse has attacked players unprovoked.""We have to do something about it—fast."The discussion had devolved into an argument the moment it started. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

"We move out in an hour!" Logan’s commanding voice echoed through the camp, followed by a notification on their armbands. The message was clear: time to prepare.Gillian gritted her teeth as she tightened the strap around the wound on her arm, the healing paste already numbing the pain. She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. The first and most important rule for Crystal Pulse players was not to die, even if respawning in eighteen hours was an option.'Logan is confident en

  • 297 - Cosmic Horror

'His mutation is changing. Or... should I say improving?' Amelia observed Jason closely as the changes in his body unfolded with each passing second. The starry night-like texture on his left side began to expand subtly toward the right, slowly overtaking the black, armour-like skin. However, the transformation seemed restrained, as though the artefact lacked the power to fully support Jason's demand. The process lasted nearly an hour before the dagger, once brimming with ominous energy, dulled completely, its power entirely drained.Jason’s body underwent slight changes—a small part of his pitch-black armour faded, replaced by the cosmic texture of the starry night. Finally, he opened his eyes, feeling a rare sense of relief. The artifact's mutation had been neutralised; it would no longer corrupt anyone or anything. For the first time in a long while, he felt as though a small part of his burden had been lifted.“Well... you can’t go out like that!” Amelia’s voice pulled him from his

Jason’s gaze returned to the towering demon before him, but he didn’t feel it was worth his attention. His glowing eyes simply stared at the massive figure for a brief moment before he swung his right arm through the air with effortless precision. It was as if he was clawing at the distant figure. A second later, several glowing white lines expanded across the space, moving faster than the eye could track. They reached the demon in an instant, cutting through its form. Behind it, the underground mountain erupted into a cloud of dust, disintegrating as though it had been struck by an invisible force. For a heartbeat, the Greater Demon stood there, frozen in place as if nothing had happened. Then, with a sickening sound, its colossal body crumbled to the ground in pieces, diced cleanly by Jason’s strike.“Screech!” A high-pitched wail echoed across the cavern as panicked creatures scattered, their movements erratic and mindless in the wake of their apex predator’s death. Even the remai

"Shit," Amelia cursed under her breath as she deflected blow after blow, desperately trying to protect Jason from the relentless attacks. It wasn’t just her previous enemies; there was another massive threat looming on the horizon. She could feel the presence of a greater demon, its oppressive aura emanating from afar, finally ready to make its move.'I can't take on this thing,' she thought, parrying another strike aimed at her.She didn't have the luxury of time to grab Jason and flee. Besides, with the monstrous force approaching, running seemed pointless. This new threat was undoubtedly stronger than her.'If only he can fight,' she lamented, her grip tightening around her sword. She couldn't even afford a glance at Jason to check if he was still holding on. All she could hear were his painful grunts, each one a stab to her focus.…"Daddy, Daddy, no, I have to go!" Hanna cried out, trying to rush toward the mine entrance. Before she could take another step, Nocturne leapt from her

  • 294 - Daddy is Hurt

'This is not going to end well.'Jason barely caught his breath as he hid behind a stone column, narrowly evading the swing of a giant demon's sword. He felt a growing sense of helplessness as his spells failed to inflict any significant damage on these monstrous enemies. Surprisingly, his Arcane Spawns managed to restrain one of the demons temporarily. However, the limitation was clear—he could only summon three Arcane Spawns at a time, and that number was far from enough to take down even a single demon.'I don't think Amelia can hold on much longer.'While Jason was barely managing against a single demon, Amelia was handling all five of the remaining demons on her own. She moved with incredible agility, skillfully evading the swords and other weapons targeting her, striking back whenever she saw an opening. Her blade flashed, leaving shallow cuts on the demons’ thick skin, but it was clear that even with her skill, she was being overwhelmed. Five demons were far more than she cou

"Hanna, you have to be good and stay here, alright?""Alright, Daddy," Hanna responded, her voice tinged with sadness, but she kept her composure.'Hanna is a big girl. I can't cry. Mommy and Daddy promised to come back,' she reminded herself, trying to act brave.Floating behind her, Nocturne extended its tentacles, imitating the action of wiping away tears as if to comfort Hanna in its own eerie way."No, Hanna is not crying, Little Cuttlefish," Hanna tried to argue with Nocturne, waving her tiny fist cutely at the eldritch horror."Make sure everything is okay." Jason gave Hanna a quick peck on the forehead before turning to Samson and Butch."We will handle things while you are gone, Sir Jason," Butch assured him. Despite not being from Earth, he had learned to mimic Samson when addressing Jason. Many of the bodyguards, even those from Yuriel, had learned to act properly under Samson's guidance.Jason's gaze shifted to Dane, who was responsible for maintaining the outer perimete

“Eh….”Hanna turned her head around as she felt a familiar ominous feeling. “What is it, Hanna?”“Little Cuttlefish is here, Mommy.”She didn’t know where it was, but she felt its presence. A moment later, a ripple appeared near them and a small slit expanded in midair. An eerie dark feeling seeped out of it as several small tentacles slipped into their world. “Whee!”Nocturne floated toward Hanna making a cheerful noise. “Hiss.”Ancient Wraith hissed at the foreign creature. “Grr….”Nyx growled at the creature in anger, but it didn’t try to attack it. First, Nocturne was Jason’s pet. Second, her little master had no anger toward this thing. However, Nyx knew that the horrible disease had the same scent as this creature. It was a dangerous and foreign feeling that made them uncomfortable. “Gu! Gu!”Nocturne immediately released a defensive sound and hid behind Amelia, trying to protect itself. “Don’t harm Little Cuttlefish. It is not his fault.”Hanna gently patted Nyx’s head

“No! I will not let you go in.”Brood’s voice was sharp and loud, and Jason felt the surrounding air vibrate with her voice. “It is already spreading. Even if he failed to defeat Brood, he was confident enough to survive against her and escape. Besides, Amelia should be already on her way here. “But… But… This is the only place I am supposed to protect. I… I didn’t let anything escape.”Brood’s voice broke a little as she tried to suppress the agitation. “Check it out. I can feel the monsters roaming beneath those cracks, and it won’t be long before they escape.”“But….”“There is no time. She is coming, and she is angry. So check it out. We will go in there and finish it, Brood. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not. It is too dangerous and we are going to end whatever is down there.”Jason had no idea what kind o
